Hi ladies, been lurking for ages but back again to catch up. Wee man still jsnt crawling, just rolls around the floor to get to where he wants. Starting to get concerned now, don't know how long to leave it before I flag it

Some never crawl. Rolling around to get where they want is very normal. Mine commando crawled for 2 months, very suddenly within a week can quad crawl, pull to stand and cruise (and got 2 teeth in the same week!)

Spareincoming · 16/10/2024 22:38

@Chellooo one of mine didn’t ever crawl; rolled, cruised on the furniture at around 14 months and walked at 18 months on the dot.
I seem the remember the Health visitor wasn’t overly concerned at the 1 year check but if you’re worried, I’d have a chat with your health visitor.

@FlyingHighFlyingLow lol that much together is terrifying 😂 I'm not gonna lie I'm loving the fact that I can set him down and he'll roughly be there when I turn around again...the walking/crawling stage is going to be a lot 😂

Also, hope this isn't tmi, but is anyone still waiting on their period to return? I'm still breastfeeding little man but he's pretty much dropped all night feeds and just taking the odd day feed, but still no period. Wanting to ttc ASAP so getting frustrated waiting

Chellooo · 17/10/2024 13:41

@Spareincoming haven't heard from my health Visitor since he was around 6 months so wouldn't even know where to start! Will give him a few more weeks to see if any progress:)

Opposite 😂 mine has been back since August despite still feeding at least every 2 hours overnight 😭

It's really person dependent. Some need to stop completely before comes back, others it comes back super soon irregardless if baby if literally always feeding.

Spareincoming · 17/10/2024 13:52

@Chellooo I’ll send you my HV, she needs her time filling, she has frequent contact with me - apparently the whole area is very low numbers of babies and she’s needing more work!

OP posts:
Chellooo · 17/10/2024 18:19

@Spareincoming 😂 @FlyingHighFlyingLow feel like it's the ones that want it back take ages and those who don't get it really quickly! My friends returned after 8 weeks, she was devastated 😂

Thack · 17/10/2024 19:32

@Chellooo we only had crawling around two weeks ago and we're only a few days off their birthday (wtf??? It's gone too fast!)

I'm back in work on reduced days. I've not been expressing during the day but BF outside of work. No period yet, I'm expecting it soon.
I had the same with dc1.

@Spareincoming nothing worse than an OTT HV. Does she give good advice? My friend had one who felt like she needed to give advice so would come out with all sorts of nonsense.

Spareincoming · 23/10/2024 18:26

Oh heck I’ve got a one year old! Still my baby though as he’s no where near toddling!

We’ve entered a new phase, biting.
Less than fun!

@Thack She’s a dreadful health visitor actually, she makes a lot of suggestions that involve spending money - the expensive sippy cups are the best etc.

Hi everyone , hope everyone is well sorry been a little quiet , a lot has gone on from leaving a 15 year relationship, I've got a 11 month old baby and looking for advise if possible , and if anyone has ever experienced this too in there babies.

So started off Thursday early hours waking every 20 mins wasn't hungry or anything just couldn't settle , crying in his sleep, Friday was fine , Friday evening was up again every 20 mins like he was in pain, and then last night got worse was up straight after falling asleep, his dad called me as he had him overnight and was panicking saying he breathing but sounded like a reverse hiccup, every time he was drinking bottle he would stop like his in pain and crying like he was choking , so I ended up going to collect him , he was sending me videos of him , happy to upload so gives more of an idea , if anyone can help that would be amazing thank you xxx

Spareincoming · 27/10/2024 18:06

@Leeanne23 is the reverse hiccup sound new? It’s not uncommon in babies with laryngeal issues but is usually detected early on. Or could it be a gaspy breath when breathing in whilst crying?

It's new , but this happened suddenly I've got videos of it xx

Spareincoming · 27/10/2024 18:21

@Leeanne23 has LO being doing it today - worth speaking to your GP maybe? Especially if you’ve got it recorded.
We have had a lot of ENT experiences and interventions with the DCs and find being able to show a recording is really helpful.

I'm gonna see how he goes through the night and get him to gp in the morning . I've a got a few from his dad as he had him last night but I'll try keep recording it . His been asleep all day xx

Spareincoming · 27/10/2024 18:33

@Leeanne23 bless him; we get all kinds of weird and wonderful noises from the DC, some related to their ENT conditions, some unknown, all can make us edgy!

His not drinking much milk or eating , but he struggles to swallow xx

Spareincoming · 27/10/2024 18:39

The reverse hiccup noise made me tonsillitis - swallowing can be painful and the swelling can affect vocal sounds too - one of ours probably suffered with tonsillitis from being really young and was really splutter-y for short periods. As they’ve aged we’ve figured out that was theIr main tonsillitis symptom.

Oh bless them, I've got loads of recording of it but it's been 3 days straight of no sleep for me as he gets uncomfortable and can't settle , he was last ill when he was 8 weeks old and ended up in hospital with bronchiolitis xx

I couldn't get a gp appointment, so ended up calling 111 xx

@Leeanne23 How are you getting on? I remember your little one being in hospital not long after we’d be in with RSV and Bronchiolitis.

Yes it was when he was 8 weeks old , they are putting it down to viral infection but I believe it's something different , if he gets worse I'll be going up again as we ended up going up to children's xx
