Are there any mums who are planning on giving birth at the Lindo Wing? Be great to hear about your experiences and whether you would recommend

Hi yes I'm due in November. So far has been really positive. I'm under Lorin Lakasing and she's very nice and reassuring. How far along are you?

@2025mom I am 100% glad I went with Lindo and the wonderful Lorin Lakasing. My pregnancy was not straightforward and she was amazing, closely monitored me and swiftly intervened when there signs my placenta wasn't working anymore. I have a lovely happy healthy baby now. I'll definitely be returning to her if have a second baby

I also gave birth at Lindo under care of Lorin. Rather long time ago now though! Happy to answer any questions though.

@Marj84 thank you so much for replying and congratulations on on your new bundle of joy. I was confused between Lorin & Tariq but more inclined towards Lorin now. How soon did you start your consultations with Lorin? I am a bit worried as I would be travelling around week 23-26 would it be too late? Also you opted for consultant led midwifery package? I got a quote to my surprise Midwifery-led vaginal birth with continuity of care team is more expensive

so sorry for so many questions thanks in advance

@2025mom I was under her from about 8 weeks. You attend your appointment then and get a viability scan during your review. You can start later but it won't be much cheaper. Your also need to check before all of this that she has availability around your due date

Midwife led care definitely isn't cheaper! NB the consultant bills in addition to lindo fee so you're looking at an extra 10k ISH on top of the Lindo fee, plus scans you need to pay for. All in it's around 20-25k when you factor in fee to Lindo, fee to consultant, fee to anaesthetist and scans etc

*I mean consultant led care definitely isn't cheaper than midwife led

Thank you so much for the info I'll get I touch with Lorins secretary and arrange a zoom meeting.

did your appointments with her and the scans take place at the Lindo or she's based somewhere else for consultations?
