TS you should be grateful your dh will even speak to you about names, mine is just grunting and looking distinctly unimpressed when I start on about them!!

Sorry you can't use Ella, it really is a lovely name, although am obviously biased - my dad has called her Emma since she was born though, how hard can it be for crying out loud - its only 4 letters!!

TwilightSurfer · 07/03/2008 21:25

Oh Dizzy DH isn't "talking" to me about names only emailing and texting. When in the same room he just looks at me with a blank expression. DRIVES ME NUTZ! I get what I can get and if that's across the internet then so be it.

DD just came over (45mins ago) and said I'm hot and my head hurts...she has a fever! She gets loopy when she's feverish and has been talking nonsense for 45 minutes now. Goodness, if it's not one thing then it's another. I think her ibuprofen has kicked in because her temps gone done slightly in the last 30 minutes.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 07/03/2008 21:45

ah poor mini surfer, hope its a one off thing and doesn't develop.

will start bombarding dh's mobile with names

TwilightSurfer · 08/03/2008 00:51

DD's temp GONE.

Found a website that I thought you all might totally enjoy: IN THE MOTHERHOOD It has these really funny mini-videos acting out real-life mommy situations/issues....and yes lady garden issues are portrayed. I promise you will laugh so turn up the volume and enjoy.

Totally wiped out because I missed my nap dealing with DD's fever. Will be turning in very shortly and hopefully sleeping in (although not because I "earned" it like Dizzy.) We're suppose to get snow tomorrow...bathing suit weather one weekend then snowboot weather the next .

Wishing all an amazing weekend.

CaptainCaveman · 08/03/2008 09:20

Morning ladies - I just got a great big kick off mini CC , a definate, no mistaking KICK.

Off to WATCH hockey today as no longer able to play, then going swimming with ds. Weekends will seem soooooooo long without playing hockey, however, I'm sure a spot of shoppping will entertain me

TwilightSurfer · 08/03/2008 13:24

Captain, swimming sounds like a wonderful idea, being weightless and just floating around. Easier said than done with our kids .

Spoke to soon about DD's fever. Within the hour of my last post fever had returned. I ended up sleeping with her, taking her temp ever few hours. I think it might be a sinus thing causing it because she's now stopped up. Chicken Soup for her for breakfast!!

We are getting snow....well cold white dust. Makes DD happy but it will never amount to anything at this rate. {{Twilight is quite happy it won't amount to anything but must keep a sad face for DD.}}

Happy Saturday!!

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 08/03/2008 13:35

morning all - horrible cold wet miserable day here and had a hellish night with the girls who seemed to want to tag team me from about 2am - needless to say fought through pile of ironing and left dd1 in bed with dh so she could continue to kick him in the nuts and not me in the bump!

dd1 playing on computer and dd2 having a nap, dh watching rugby before heading off to late shift so am currently deciding between baking/going to tesco or doing the aforementioned pile of ironing!!

TwilightSurfer · 08/03/2008 13:46

Lisa Marie Presley (Elvis' daughter) is pregnant. Since she's showing (this is her third), I wonder if she's due in August too?

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 08/03/2008 13:51

will phone her and ask her, Angelina declined to join us as she forgot to take her laptop with her and brad and when I spoke to Nicole she said it was a lovely idea but she'd already joined the multiple birth thread

LaJolie · 08/03/2008 14:05

Now to be fair dizzy I didn't decline, I said I'd left my laptop behind BUT Brad DH will let me use his occasionally so I'll log on when I can. Obviously having so many children and work/charity commitments it's going to be hard.

God the weight gain is something else isn't it? I'm just so HUGE now, have nothing to wear but thinking about contacting Next (someone mentioned this designer - haven't heard of him/her but seems interesting for maternity wear) to see what's available.

Anyone know anything about dangers of tattoo removal during preg?

dizzydixies · 08/03/2008 14:07

PMSL

lajolie you should try George (pm Jor-ge) he has some clothes displayed at Asda, am sure they would have something for you - what are you now, a size UK8?! good grief, its a wonder Brad hasn't run back in the arms of Jen

LaJolie · 08/03/2008 14:11

Is Asda one of the smaller Caribbean islands? It rings a vague bell, might see if I can track down George and get him to come round to the house to discuss my needs at this point in time.

I've totally ballooned to a size 4, that's an 8 for you guys, right?

To be honest dizzydixies I think for you to make personal comments about my private life based on what you may or may not have read in some trashy magazine whose print comes off on your fingertips is COMPLETELY unnecessary and against the spirit of MN. Take it back, please, or my PA will click on the exclamation mark.

I came on here for support. Not this s**t.

TwilightSurfer · 08/03/2008 14:12

LOL

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 08/03/2008 14:13

ROFL - yes, it IS darling, just turn left over Antigua and keep going till you see its unique green pyramid/neon shape!!

humble apologies dah-ling, am sure he wouldn't run!!!

LaJolie · 08/03/2008 14:16

Hi TwilightSurfer, I think you're in the States too, right? Maybe you and I could hang out together some time, I'm not loving the UK "sense of humour" from the ladies on this thread. I just don't get it. Maybe it would be easier to get on with one of my own kind.

The only thing is I can't eat doughnuts. Do you know those things are fried, deep fried in oil? I mean you've got wheat, animal fats, refined sugar, the works. I can make us up some healthy snack, maybe a quinoa salad or a roasted vegetable tart.

TwilightSurfer · 08/03/2008 14:17

Interesting but I have important business to discuss. This hospital bag...should there be a bag for me and a bag for baby?? I really want to get to packing.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 08/03/2008 14:18

LaJolie you're more than welcome anytime you like. You'd feel more at home in my town than anywhere else in the world.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 08/03/2008 14:21
LaJolie · 08/03/2008 14:22

I'd do a bag each.

Main reason: your bag is going to end up full of things you don't want others to see - icky knickers, stained birth gear, etc, and the baby bag needs to be one that other people - e.g. your dh or a nurse or whoever - can be free to rummage in for a clean vest / nappy without you inwardly shuddering or having to say "no no I'll do it" just cause you want to preserve your privace. Do you know what I mean?

Of course you can pack a little baby bag and pack the bag IN your own bag, so you just have one to tote.

CaptainCaveman · 08/03/2008 14:22

YUm! Can I come to? I'll be in Florida for a couple of weeks in May and I'm incredibly fickle so can dump these English bints without so much as a backward glance.
Quinoa salad is american for lemon cheesecake isn't it?

Girls, just bought the cutest mr men t shirts for ds from M&S - they also had a really cool Mr Noisy hoodie in the sale but sadly not in ds' size. Bought myself another maternity top too from H&M. Slowly making myself bankrupt.....

LaJolie · 08/03/2008 14:23

Oops someone posted under my username. Security not great here. Logging off but see you ladies soon.

Prem om shanti.

Peace and love.

TwilightSurfer · 08/03/2008 14:24

Here's my current list (for me):
baby wipes, witch hazel wipes, pads, granny panties, shower items, flip-flops, bottle of ibuprofen, eye/sleep mask (to block out low hosptial room lighting), .... what should I wear? gowns get messy...t-shirt and sweatpants?? OH make-up and ponytail holders

What else?

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 08/03/2008 14:29

oohhh on you go CC go and be with your NEW friend just because she's all skinny and glamarous [sniff] then again maybe she'll give you some cash to aid with your finances, remember to register yourself as a charity first though lol

TS I also took in

antibacterial wipes and hand gel
hair brush
note pad and pen (remembering who brought what etc)
camera
book or magazine
bottle of diluting juice
an XL man's shirt to wear for feeding
socks for labour
cool mist spray - helped keep temp down during labour
pillow - am a bit fussy about where I put my head although not who's looking at my fanjo if they have drugs or can help!

TwilightSurfer · 08/03/2008 14:30

pen, paper, stamps, digital camera, laptop!!!, dirty things baggies, GEEZ maybe I should pack the kitchen sink??

Come on Captain, the more the merrier. It's only a 3 hour flight from Orlando (layover in Atlanta) or a 12 hour drive.

Organized {twilight giggles} I'm one of those people that needs a running start for everything....it takes me twelve trips back inside the house just to leave most mornings. It's sad ... so sad.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 08/03/2008 14:31

PMSL @ laptop, your hosp is obviously more user friendly than ours!!
