Expectant, Bugaboo is a well used brand in the US but I'm not familiar at all with Orbit Baby. Of the two I'd pick the Bugaboo. Dizzy's right...find what you like while visiting the UK.

Captain, the Joovey is a dream come true. REALLY!! DD doesn't like to walk everywhere we go so having the caboose will be perfect. I officially now have two friends using it because another just purchased one after my suggestion. Ebay does have them. If I were you I'd just pop into a baby store while you're visiting the US in May. I promise you'll love it!! And by the way, I just purchased a La Blanca two piece that you'd LOVE!!! Go out to ebay and type in La Blanca, the size 8 fits me beautifully and will allow me to grow nicely all summer long. Side note on the La Blanca: I like last seasons colors better than this seasons...seems this season is mostly browns. The two piece I purchased has a bandeau top and a tennis shirt style bottom. AWESOME!!! ....Disney tickets.....honestly while getting things together for next year's trip I've only found a few dollars difference when looking at different purchasing agents. The BEST deals I've found are straight off Disney's site where you get that credit card thing. You can select the style ticket you want (hopper or one day pass) along with a food allowance. Food in the park is what kills you so purchasing the allowance add-on is nice because it also gives you a DISCOUNT at the eateries. Oh and don't forget SEA WORLD!!! Disney's great but at our kid's age SEA WORLD is HEAVENLY.

Dizzy {{{hugs}}}

Welcome Karney.

CC it was at a KK Anon meeting but you're not meant to OUT us!!!

TwilightSurfer · 24/03/2008 18:29

Okay I'm BRAVE today. I just posted new bump picture in my new bathing suit. I wanted to show both off. WARNING: Pregnant Lady Without A Tan!!

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 24/03/2008 18:36

TS you look wonderful!!! well as wonderful as anyone can with no head

what is this 'tan' thing you speak of?!?

TwilightSurfer · 24/03/2008 18:46

Tan? Exactly....here's hoping I'll gain one naturally this year as most years I've had one month under the unnatural light by now.

cheerfulvicky · 24/03/2008 18:59

TS, your bump is great! I've also got to the point where I look pregnant from the front... gulp

Is anyone else here having back pain? I've been suffering for a few weeks now, its kind of at the top of my right buttock and above heh... Really hurts, and no amount of stretching, shifting etc helps. I'm wondering how I will cope with labour if I'm moaning this much now

dizzydixies · 24/03/2008 19:05

cheerful have you tried a heatpad on it?

I've got my first physio apt tomorrow at the hosp - letter says to take a t-shirt and shorts eerrmmmmm - that'll not be happening lol

TwilightSurfer · 24/03/2008 19:09

Cheerful, thanks and I'm having horrid buttock pains too after walking a while (mostly right upper cheek). It's my sacral plexus joint {where hips connect to spine}. It's a common problem apparently, especially if this is your second or third.....thinner women seem to be more prone the problem too. Rest is about all I've found that helps. Doc said to stretch it out but I can't rationally see how that's helping. By the way LOVE the pregnancy candid...professionally done??

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 24/03/2008 19:11

ah 'thinner' women, hence reason my backside is one of few parts of me that it fine

let the battle of bath and bed commence - am fit for it tonight

TwilightSurfer · 24/03/2008 19:12

Yes, Dizzy right, heat helps but sometimes for me it causes my belly to contract. There's a warm therapy pool at the YMCA that I "plan" to go float in that is suppose to help as well. Doctor did recommend warm baths...a pool could be considered a big bathtub I guess.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 24/03/2008 19:23

Ooooo I've just won a cute spring jacket on ebay. (less than $10US including shipping) I'm watching three La Blanca bathing suits.....

CaptainCaveman · 24/03/2008 21:26

No idea where the day has gone, and once more its 9.30pm....

TS, great photo, love the outfit but not sure my ass would tolerate one of those, especially given the amount of crap I've been gorging myself on .

Still got 2 weeks to go til anomoly scan, seems like forever but sure it will go quickly.

Pleased to report no ass pains here either - hang on though, does that mean I'm too 'well padded'?

libbyssister · 24/03/2008 22:56

Hello everyone, hope you've had good Easter weekends. Mine was ok. Just waved goodbye to my parents after a couple of days... Was ok although they made a lot of unsubtle hints that they 'want' a granddaughter. like there's much I can do about that.

Prams: with DS I had a Silver Cross Compact (I think it's discontinued now) as it was the only one that would fit in my very small car. This time I have my eye on this icandy Might spend my bonus on it!

LO is kicking away as I type

poppysocks · 24/03/2008 23:10

A rather belated Happy Easter to you all!

Just back from a weekend away catching up with virtually everyone we're related to. A whistle stop tour, but worth it, esp. as I can't see us managing to do it again for a while. It was the first time since DD was born that I've actually enjoyed travelling. She was so excited about the planes/flying etc. and easy to distract when things were a bit more dull so it was all rather nice. Again, can't see it travel being enjoyable again for a while after August....

DD exhausted after the excitement of snow, easter eggs and several days of constant shrieking with her cousins. (We are too!)

I'm afraid I don't have anything to add re: buggies. We were given the whole Quinny Buzz caboodle last time which was fine. We do lots of off road walking so that made the extra weight and size worthwhile. Dumped that though at 10 months and have found the McLaren Triumph that we've had since fab. It must have travelled 100s of miles by now as we go everywhere in it and it's fine. Intend to carry on using it for DD initially with the baby in a sling and when it's too big for that, DD will just have to walk...

We had the carrycot last time for the Quinny, but hardly used it as we didn't have a moses basket and DD slept in it during the day. Having had a CS, I couldn't then lift it onto the frame when we went out, so I just used the carset that fits or the sling. This time, I do want to use it properly and we're borrowing a moses basket.

Sorry to hear you haven't been well Dizzy and things aren't good for your Mum. Hopefully things'll look up this week for you.

Anomaly scan on Wednesday. Not too worried, but rather intrigued re: gender. Really really don't know.... According to that Shettles thing about timing vs ovulation it should be a boy, but who knows.

Right - MUST get some sleep.

libbyssister · 24/03/2008 23:23

Just uploaded a pic of DS as I realised I had no photos on there... Must take one of my bump soon.

Tooo late. Off to bed now. Night!

PetitFilou1 · 25/03/2008 10:47

Hello all
Just checking in quickly as have loads of work on. I've had a knackering Easter as was looking after dcs while dh revised. In the crap weather. But at least I was at my mums and she was actually very helpful. Dcs are not sleeping at all well at the moment so me and dh are very tired BUT AT LEAST HE ISN'T PREGNANT (there got that off my chest!) We went to the circus on Sunday (once it had stopped snowing). They loved it.
Dizzy You are ill again?! That doesn't sound right. Do you need some tests? You poor thing.
Buckets Yes I also have spotty decolletage and back. Yuck. It doesn't work well with cleavage enhancing maternity wear does it? But a few others are in the same boat on here if I remember rightly so at least we are not alone!
TS and Vicky The stretching does work. Your muscles tighten in one area as they are overcompensating for other muscles that for whatever reason you aren't using as much. I had various problems like this in both previous pregs and the exercises the physio gave did give some relief. I discovered late on that I have one leg a bit shorter than the other which was causing most of my problems. Now I have an orthotic thing in my left shoe and fingers crossed I don't have the same problems this time. So far. I like to think of myself as reasonably attractive but spots and backache don't enhance that feeling of yourself do they?!

Shazza2002 · 25/03/2008 10:57

Morning ladies

Love the picture TS, very at your neat bump. That's so not fair.

Really excited and nervous about anomoly scan tomorrow. DD was coming with us but as it means she will have to leave school 30 minutes early she doesn't want to, something tells me she'll grow out of things like that very soon. But really looking forward to seeing baby again.

I have back pain but it's a muscle I had pulled about a year ago. I am booked in for a massage next Tuusday.
The lady has a special bed with a hole for bump and holes for boobs!

dizzydixies · 25/03/2008 11:22

Morning All!

libbyssister can't see your photo for some reason

poppysocks hi, how are you keeping, hope you haven't worn yourself out with your whirlwind adventures! are you going to find out? we were undecided but baby chose by having legs firmly clamped together - another scan again in a few weeks so will no doubt debate it again!!

petitfilou just V&D twice in one week but think second bout was worse as I was still tired from first one - probably didn't rest my tum enough before shoving in my body weight worth of food again have successfully plugged everything up with easter eggs and cake - highly recommended remody for anyone with dodgy bot!

shazza PMSL at her table - can you buy those on the high street! I'd be worried about never getting out of it - hope it works some wonders for you

off to physio at 12pm. have been warned its a final yr physio and her tutor and assessor who will be 'doing' me so am buffed polished nails and hair done - I know all completely irrelevant but every little helps!!! DH now thinks he's on a promise having seen the smooth legs

snow flurries here and boiler bloke turned up to apologise he hasn't managed to get parts due to easter wkend - couldn't let him in to house incase he realised we've been turning it on and turning it back off when it starts banging in hope we won't blow ourselves up I hate being cold!!!

cheerfulvicky · 25/03/2008 12:18

Morning ladies!

Thanks for all the responses re: bum pain!! Good to know its normal anyway - walking seems to make it worse and lying down and twisting helps. So, I guess it's an excuse to be lazy, haha...

TS, thanks for the compliment about my bump pic - will pass on to DP who took it! He'll be thrilled (I did fiddle with it a bit in photoshop tho to change the colours... shhh..)

Buckets · 25/03/2008 12:54

Hi all
Got my scan in a couple of hours! Am going in all blind optimism as I've realised I lead a very charmed life and if I were to start thinking about all the bad luck that is surely due my way one day, life would not be worth living.
Will let you know...

TwilightSurfer · 25/03/2008 13:04

Good luck with all your visits today. I have no plans but have had a shower just in case. Baby is kicking right now. She woke me very early trying to do a flip or something. It ended up being all part of this dream sequence where someone had me tackled on the ground and they were shoving their elbow into my stomach. It hurt really bad and I started to yell out...which woke me up (and DH). Had to get up on all fours in the bed to move the little one out what ended up being a bad spot. Isn't it funny how dreams and reality get jumbled in the wee hours.

OP posts:
Shazza2002 · 25/03/2008 14:58

TS - I may need your help. Now I remember before you offered to ship pretzels to somebody and I was wondering if you'd do the same with a blanket for me. Very cheeky to ask I know, but basically my nephew absolutely adores his 'babbit'. He did have 2 but my sister has since lost one. They are sold by a company called 'Beyond-Bedding' online but will only ship to US or Canada. Amazon.com also sell them but again will not ship to UK. They are on Ebay.com and I have asked if they ship to UK but failing that I'm stuck. Or anybody else that's the other side of the water that could help I would be so grateful. I have a paypal account so can transfer money straight away. I also understand entirely that some people would not feel comfortable doing this kind of thing but I am even happy to transfer money first if that helps. Thanks x

longwayfromhome · 25/03/2008 16:55

Shazza2002 - not sure if this will help but Master Delivery might also be helpful.

www.masterdelivery.com/

I think that it is a bit expensive but the stuff is shipped to an address in the US and they then send it on to you by courier.

We have used them to Argentina and although it did need a couple of phone calls, the stuff arrived here quickly and without problems.

Dizzydixies - I'm very sorry to hear about your mum. Buckets - I hope that the scan goes well today.

TwilightSurfer · 25/03/2008 16:57

Shazza I'd be happy to help. Here's my charity address (I help place stray cats occasionally): [email protected]. Send me an email with all the basics and I'll take care of things.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 25/03/2008 17:07

Oooo is it one of these? I think I've seen these in a store....very soft. I have paypal too so getting you what you want should be a "SNAP".
