Vintage Thanks for all the advice. It is nice to know someone else out there empathises with my situation. After all, my husband is not dying of a brain tumour like some MNrs so I know I must sound pretty self absorbed at times compared to going the women going through things like that. I think the hardest thing for me and dh is the lack of any respite from our family. My mother is reluctantly coming to stay in September. It will be the first time she has ever stayed with us since since before we even got married. The funny thing is, that although she criticises my dh for concentrating on his career over his family sometimes, she does just the same thing! I need to learn to be more tolerant but when I'm at my worst I feel so strongly that I didn't plan on being a single mum and that is what it feels like sometimes!

Anyway, I am feeling a lot better today and thanks to everyone thinking of me. I actually got offered a seat on the train today - woo hoo!

Sazzles when I was last pg 3yrs ago, all my maternity tops had huge impractical emperor sleeves! Looked great but I used to stick hair clips on when bathing DD.

Petitfilou, it is a shame if he can't delay the MBA, even if he thinks he is doing it for the benefit of the family in the longrun. It is something he could always do a year later, the baby is not and that experience may never be repeated. Ask him what his vision of the future is for the whole family and see if a year's taking-it-easy and enjoying more of each other's company would really throw the plan off kilter.

Will catch up properly later - have got another flippin headache! They seem to start about 2.30 -3 every day and carry on until I take some paracetamol (usually when I get home around 5.30). Grrrr.

But to make up for it, I can feel baby cavey having a little kick. Keep dreaming about girls too......who knows?!

EEEEEEEK! Nearly set the house alight last night. We were sat in the longue around 9pm and my super-sensitive-pg-smell detected a funny sweet smell, but slightly smokey. I said to dh "whats that smell?" and he looked through into the dining room to see lots of smoke!!
I'd put a towel to dry on the radiator and it rested on top of the halogen spotlight (which wasn't turned on when I hung the towel up). It had burnt right through the towel and was smouldering nicely, a big 4 inch hole! A couple more minutes and I think it would've gone up - right next to a curtain too
Of course then it was a mad dash to get the battery out of the smoke alarms before they woke ds up - and to get all windows and doors open before we both choked. A bit scary. And the house still smells this morning.

Buckets I've already put it to him pretty much in those terms! I think he does know that but it is already funded and he has already accepted the place. There is kind of no going back now. When he gets the bit between his teeth there is no stopping him...

Anyway dd was very sweet this evening. She said 'the baby is going to get into the car with you and drive off' and thought that was the most hilarious thing she had ever said -she had herself in fits of laughter. I then said 'but where are you going to go' and she said 'next to the baby and I am going to give it a cuddle'. They do make you smile sometimes.

LOL happens to me all the time, must get DH to reconnect our smoke alarm actually. Our grill knob is very sensitive and gets turned on just by walking past it LOL, let alone small fingers - of course if I cleaned it out more often it wouldn't be quite so flammable...

I'm a newbie here can i join in please? I am expecting our first baby on the 25th August. We live in Wiltshire, where the midwife is a little loopy and vague!! Slowly starting to realise that I might be suffering from preggie brain as the bath water just came pouring out of the bathroom door

Best go clean it up and then when DH gets home I can deny all knowledge!

I've caught man flu a cold from DH/DS. Feeling a bit grim but when I got into work my boss put an Easter Egg on my desk so things are looking up And I've just truffled down a cheese scone with lashings of butter

Had my hair cut yesterday for the first time in 3 months. Now the wind is whipping past my neck! But I'll try and do a dizzy flick of salon hair with what I have left [teeny flick]

Hi Ladies.

The sky is falling and I don't believe it's due to stop anytime soon. I guess the grass will look nice next week.

DD is doing very well. I'm, however, falling apart. My MS seems to have slightly returned and now I'm constantly ill...just that low key, always there sensation. I know I need to eat but my pukiness kills my appetite. I think it's just all stress related. Still having glute pains which is REALLY worrying me. Finally phoned nurse today...waiting for her to call now. I'm sure the pain is all my fault. However mentioned it might have been a yoga thing is probably right. exercise!!

Captain, several years ago after cooking muffins I almost burnt the house down. I took muffins out of the oven and set them on the stove to cool. I set the tea kettle on the other eye to heat then walked into the next room. Minutes later SMOKE. Dummy me turned the eye on under the muffins not the tea kettle. Oops.

Dizzy sorry your sick. I would be too after that list.
