Afternoon ladies

Just wanted to share that I've had some lovely KK donuts. Tesco do a mixed box of 12 for £8.95 but I don't like some of them. So bought 8 single ones and spent the same money. Lady behind counter thought I was nuts. I think I am now too!! Anyway they were delicious

Shazza2002 · 19/03/2008 14:09

x posts TS. Sorry you're not feeling too good. Whoever said we bloom during pregnancy lied

dizzychixies · 19/03/2008 15:01

TS am sorry to hear you're not feeling great, hope the nurse has better news for you.

I haster to add to shameful take away list that it was done over an extended period and never two nights in a row
have managed to keep down toast and some toasted muffins so now wondering if I still feel wiped though lack of food/liquid yesterday - will up my water and spend night peeing instead lol

Shazza - RED CARD!!!!!!! cousin went to London last wkend for her wedding dress fitting and came home empty handed - wench Anyway, am off into Tesco to demand to know why our local branch doesn't stock them lol

Shazza2002 · 19/03/2008 15:28

Sorry dizzy, it's just I never have anything interesting to say so knew that would get everybodies attention

On the plus side, the Tesco where I bought them only started stocking this week so it seems they are working their way around

TwilightSurfer · 19/03/2008 15:29

Nurse called to say...tylenol, warm baths and stretching are what the doctor suggests. ARGH! I don't want to STRETCH...it hurts. Oh well, I guess I'll just give it some time. All good pains disappear eventually. Actually just the call made me feel a bit better. The worry of not knowing whether it's a serious issue or not always makes it worse. Guess this isn't as bad as my mind's made it out to be.

I think my town has had a baby explosion. Over the past few days I've ventured out on my quest for that perfect baby bottle that I like only to find that all the shelves in all the stores have been wiped clean of them. I guess it's good that I've started my quest early.

dizzychixies · 19/03/2008 15:36

s'ok shazza the fact that you think tescos are now stocking them is giving me hope for the north yet lol how is your mum keeping by the way?

TS am always soooo impressed with you being so organised! I've just realised we're having visitors in middle of july so won't even be able to do nursery till just before baby is born how is the name hunting going?

TwilightSurfer · 19/03/2008 15:46

Just crossing more off my list. I removed Lauren yesterday after I remembered my cousin's youngest in Lauren. My family is just Toooooooo big. DH may have to suck it up and decide Roxy isn't so bad afterall.

Buckets · 19/03/2008 16:24

TS I've always wondered, is Tylenol just paracetamol?

Well I'm going to be tired tonight and I'm supposed to be going foodshopping when DH gets home. Friend with 4wk baby called to say she was at her mums about 10miles away so me and DS marched 15mins to the station, leapt on a train and powerwalked 40mins to her house!!! Was totally worth it and her mum kindly dropped us at the station so back in time for a McFlurry before schoolrun. Feeling quite smug about exercise right now but will flop soon I'm sure.

Oh and DS(3) actually danced for the first time EVER!! They had one of those dancing flowers that plays Build me up Buttercup and he loved it "I dancin, Mum." Sooo not his style so doubly hilarious.

TwilightSurfer · 19/03/2008 16:48

Buckets yes for all pratical purposes they are the same. Amazing travels you've had today. I'd be snoring already.

Oh I forgot to share a little cute story from last night. DH and DD were helping fold clothes on the bed last night. I moaned as I sat down on the edge to help. DD rolled across the bed and pulled up my shirt. Speaking to my belly she said, "it's okay baby" then kissed my belly. She then rolled back as if that were the most normal thing in the world.

How's the iron supplements going for those taking them? Just wondered if energy levels increased.

IlanaK · 19/03/2008 17:29

Well, I am officially insane. I spent the day at Legoland with my two ds and some friends at 21 weeks pregnant with a bad sciatic nerve. I am sooooo tired and sore now, it is not funny. But at least the kids had a good time. This is definately the last trip to Legoland until after this baby is born and probably not until the new baby is much older!

I had some blood test results this week. I am NOT anemic which I was suprised about. And my blood sugar is fine. This is the third test for blood sugar that has come back fine and I am refusing to have anymore. Just because my BMI is very high, they are convinced I will have gestational diabetes even though I have not had it in previous pregnancies and have normal blood sugar results each time!

Hope everyone else is well - I will try to catch up when less tired!

Buckets · 19/03/2008 17:45

Hurray Ilana, 3 tests really ought to be enough to ram down their throats next time it's mentioned . Do you think you might be allowed on the MW-led ward?
Have just sent off enquiry about NCT refresher courses - wondering if I may be a little premature but oh well, they can only laugh.

sazzlesA its latin for steadfast and normally used as a nickname for Constance. It wouldn't be right up there on my list but it doesn't offend me - sorry, am not sure how to phrase it, not one I've previously considered so would need to mull it over!! I normally like names with a nice meaning and the only association I have with 'steadfast' is the scouts/brownies motto I think?!?!

don't feel bad about getting dh to do the bath and bed, would love mine to do it too but the selfish sod is on duty till 10pm lol

Buckets · 19/03/2008 18:42

I love Connie Beecham! Actually, she's taken away all the sugary sweetness I usually associate with the name so I approve.
I quite like virtue names like Constance (think loyal, faithful etc.)

VintageGardenia · 19/03/2008 18:59

I think Constance is a beautiful name, links for me with Constance, Countess Markiewicz who was a great Irish nationalist and feminist in the early 20th century. I love the virtue names too, Faith, Hope etc.

I am so behind with all the posts! Help. A few words leapt out at me - doughnuts and KK and jam were noticeable but you might say I had a leaning towards them.

dizzychixies · 19/03/2008 19:01

hi VG loved the paddy's day name change by the way!!

Cheers dizzy, desperately trying to assert individuality on grounds of nationality!

Favourite elements of page at mo:

bohemianbint's name
Cap'n's arsonic antics
libby's use of the verb "truffle"
dizzy's bag of eggs...

Do you remember the Tylenol ads - TY - LE - NOL

dizzychixies · 19/03/2008 20:24

VG laughing at my bag of eggs you should have been horrified and offering to go up and get me some goodies!!!!!!!

VintageGardenia · 19/03/2008 20:25

No problem getting you goodies at the Temple of Lusciousness but you have to come to my house to get em! And risk me having polished them off before you get here.

VintageGardenia · 19/03/2008 20:28

Here's the thing now:

  1. I am sick of being merely fat looking but not bumpish
  1. I would like a smooth bump with slim, golden shoulders, collar bones like cliffs and legs like my DP's (obv if waxed ,moisturised, generally feminised, etc). I would like to stop growing at about 7 months and remain chic, cool and elegant.
dizzychixies · 19/03/2008 20:32

good grief, consider yourself lucky, I look about 31wks pg instead of 21, god knows what I'm going to look like soon but have a fear there will be a wheelbarrow involved for transporting huge breasts and belly about

have never been much of a bloomer with any of mine and damn that angelina for being pg at the same time, selfish miserable wench

VintageGardenia · 19/03/2008 20:46

Don't get me wrong dd I am VAST but no casual onlooker would ever ascribe it to pregnancy. Vast of bosom and of arse.

dizzychixies · 19/03/2008 20:50

PMSL VG a lady who takes her dd to same swim class as mine eventually asked me how I was keeping last week - she said she'd thought I was pg but didn't want to offend me by asking incase I wasn't - I didn't have the heart to tell her that by explaining she was offending me as she seems very nice and its taken a while for her to start talking to us!!!

never mind, there's always plastic surgery lol

VintageGardenia · 19/03/2008 20:59

Ah she sounds quite sweet really! I look astonishing in my togs at the mo. Have you invested / will you invest in mat. ones? I am swimming 2 x per week but very poorly.

OK am I the only one who thinks "vast of bosom and of arse" has a practically Shakespearean rhythm to it?

See the pregnant lady pass,
Vast of bosom and of arse,
Ten months gone my lady seemeth,
Stuffing her face with Krispy Kreemeth.
