Buckets you look fantastic! Am v .

Can't even stay up for the end of Lewis even though good shouting match going on at mo, dropping with tiredness and longing for bed. Who was it the other day dreaming about their line dried sheets on the bed & thinking about how gorgeous it would be crawling into bed? Well that's me tonight!

Talk tomorrow, if I can ever crawl back out...

libbyssister · 10/03/2008 09:44

Morning everyone... I stayed up for the end of Lewis (didn't see that one coming!!) Living near Oxford you kinda have to watch it so you can slag off all the 'just for TV' quiet streets/lack of tourists/no bikes running you over/sun's always shining, etc!

I got my maternity clothes down from the loft yesterday. Hah! What a joke. I have 1 pair of jeans, 1 pair of trousers, 4 tops and a pair of PJs. I need to go shopping now. I can't live in just those for the next 5 months. And I need some summer stuff.

I also had a TENS machine last time. I hired it from our midwife unit for 20 quid for a month. It was good and kept me at home for 12 hours. I even went to sleep with it pulsing away.

alittlebitshy · 10/03/2008 11:39

Don't tell me what happens in Lewis!!!! I was asleep after 50 mins - though ti looked a good one. Just have to hope it recorded ok.

Got my current fave matty top on today. It's a black long sleeves v necked one fromHennes and is kinda empire line-ish under the boobs so makes my bump look bump like rather than fat like. Currently got jogging bototms on cos
my jeans got soaked in the torrential rain. dd loved it when my umbrella blew inside out .

Captaincaveman I posted your cheque today. Excuse the Christmas stamp, I found it under my pile of left over Xmas cards .

It's all sunny now (albeit windy) after all that rain. What's that all about.

Buckets cool pic and lovely bump! We've not had nits yet and dd is almost 5. I've never had it either. Am I owning up to us having too dirty hair? (I don't think we do really) or are we lucky and just tempting fate by me posting this.

IlanaK · 10/03/2008 13:07

I planned a day in today as i knew the weather would be aweful. I hate being in all day with the kids, but planned it that way so its not so bad. We did manage to get out to the local shop at one point this morning when it stopped raining and have to pop back out again this afternoon if there isa break in the weather. Its going to be like this all week here (central london) and I can't stay in all week as we have swimming, etc to go to.

I have my scan Thursday morning and could not get childcare so am taking both boys with me (ages 3 and 6). Not sure if the sonographer will be happy about this, but no choice really. I am desperate to know the sex of this baby and counting down the days.

mummypud · 10/03/2008 14:24

hello ladies , major panic today , walked into bed poast belly on while makin bed , so hard i swore . 18 weks pg now and worried sick . help xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

libbyssister · 10/03/2008 14:48

Ouch mummypud, that must've hurt like hell. Try not to worry about the baby. I don't know much about anatomy but there quite a lot of 'padding' with muscles and stuff so you took the brunt of it, not the baby.

If it's any consolation, DS regularly jumps on me, elbows me and is generally rough with my tummy but I figure that I/it can take it? The baby will prob come out with 2 black eyes, mind...

You main mistake was making the damn bed in the first place, see what trouble this housework lark gets you into?

Take care!

mummypud · 10/03/2008 15:41

lol libby, i know i felt so stupid after doing it , how did i manage to walk into it in the first plce, dh was very calm when i told him and was like it will be fine while i have a major panic.xxx i am too clumsy , slid down mums garden when pregnant with dd.xxx

libbyssister · 10/03/2008 15:54

Make sure DH gives you a big cuddle Don't blame you for panicking, it makes you feel all vulnerable when that sort of thing happens.

Is your DD rough with you, mummypud? Or is it a boy thing?? We haven't told DS yet that there's a baby in there, but might do soon to stop him diving/walking on me...

PetitFilou1 · 10/03/2008 15:59

Someone help me - am I 17 weeks tomorrow? I've lost track (am due 25 Aug) Hopefully GP will find the heartbeat at antenatal appt tomorrow although in my past experience they are usually useless at finding it and make you listen to the placenta... Have a bump that makes me look about 5 months pregnant now. Stomach muscles shot to bits!

Hope everyone else ok.

LadyOfWaffle · 10/03/2008 16:03

mummypud, replied on your other thread xxx {{hugs}}

I can't work out my dates either - have you any written down somewhere ie. January 13th you were 10 + 3 (wild stab in the dark figure just used as an example ) It's the only way I can work out my dates... I know I am a "new week" every Friday, and I had a scan at 12 + something on the err... 31st January, so I always have to work it out from that. There is a website that tells you aswell, can't remember it now though (!) but then some websites give you all different 'dates'. Did any of that make sense??? Sorry!

libbyssister · 10/03/2008 16:08

Petitf - I'm 17 weeks this week and I'm due on 24 August, if that helps??

PetitFilou1 · 10/03/2008 16:14

Yep libbysister that helps. I was meant to go for an antenatal appointment at 16 weeks (whoops) but I think tomorrow I will be 17 or 17 + 1 or something. Oh well!

I am much more relaxed this time. Have eaten lots of things you aren't supposed to to the point where I think I probably ought to start being careful before I run out of luck! I hope that is how I will feel when dc3 comes out as well. You just can't be so stressy with no 3 as you were with no1.

We've exchanged on our house at last. So it is definitely Oxfordshire here we come as of end of April. Just need to know where ds is going to school now! Fingers crossed for the appeal this week that he will get into the village school ....

PetitFilou1 · 10/03/2008 16:23

Actually I think I am 16 weeks - have checked on a couple of other websites. So maybe I am not totally losing my mind!

mummypud · 10/03/2008 16:29

thanks lady of waffle, got your message , much appriciated.xx libby dd isnt actually too bad at the mo , i was worried she might be jumping all over me as she can be fairly rough , but luckily she seems to be learning not to or maybe she is just going through a phase of not doing it!xx

Buckets · 10/03/2008 17:20

Petitfilou, I'm 18wks tomorrow and due 12th so for you 16wks today/tomorrow makes more sense.
My folks came and took me and DS to theirs for lunch today bless them. Also gave me 2 boxes of books to sell on Ebay and keep the money for baby stuff so will be busy photographing and uploading this week.
Had lots of baby movement in bed last night, very pleasing at this stage but I'm sure I'll be moaning about it soon enough. Trying to remember that this is the best bit of pregnancy, the lull between discomforts.

TwilightSurfer · 10/03/2008 17:32

I'm 17+2 and due 16AUG.

Rubbish day with DD. We are just NOT getting along. She screamed, yelled, threw things, etc for 4 hours this morning. Attempted to take her to preschool but then drove back home because I didn't want her to get banned for her behavior. She finally ate a bite an hour ago then crawled into bed for a nap. It's times like these I feel like a total failure then it hits me I'm having another. Today, if this were a job in the real world I'd have QUIT!!

On a positive note the sun is shining and my laundry is almost done. {{Twilight redirected all her frustration into sorting and folding.}}

OP posts:
alittlebitshy · 10/03/2008 17:43

Oh twilight. I know where you're coming from.

My dd can be like that.

This morning before school she went beserk on me (can't remember what started it) and was yelling, threw something small at me then when I started "counting" (read Roaring 1...2...3...4.....) went to her room and ocntinued yelling but at least i didn't have to witness it.

I'm not sure where the throwing things has come from. I'm sure i don't (well, not in her presence ).......

I have the odd panic about how on eartn I'll cope when there is a baby too...

Bizarrely if i explain that she musn;t throw thins cos it might hurt the baby she vaguely calms down. ish.

dizzydixies · 10/03/2008 18:20

poppysocks come and play here

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/2290/493293?stamp=080310155251

and anyone else from scotland that I haven't remembered sorry!!

CaptainCaveman · 10/03/2008 21:01

Good evening! HOpe you are all well - reassuring to hear of your dd's and their 'strong willed' behaviours TS and ALBS. I think when ds turned 3 his testosterone switch flipped on and he became less 'rough and tumble' and more 'out & out violent'! Rest assured it happens to all of us - irrespective of how great our parenting skills may be......

Ds also keeps leaping on me (despite being told not to because of the baby), elbowing me etc. Baby will come out covered in bruises or determined for revenge!!

miamla · 10/03/2008 21:03

blimey..there's a few of you on here who need gagging and no, i'm not talking in a sexy bondage way! I've only been off here for a day and already there's 3 more pages!!

hmm maybe i'll dig the camera out and show you my tops (i've lost count of how many i've made!) Had another order today from someone i work with for one suitable for breastfeeding. There's a whole market of people out there who obviously aren't being catered for by the high street stores. I've got pound signs flashing in my eyes!!

albs..i'm in chingford at the moment. planning on popping baby out in Whipps. what about you?

mummypud i'm sure everything's fine.libbysister's right, there's alot of padding in there. If you're worried can you book an appt to see your midwife? i'm sure hearing little one's heartbeat will put your mind at ease

petitfilou i'm 20 weeks tomorrow and due on the 29th july (i've got special dispensation for being on the august thread )

i should really stop looking at baby clothes...they're so small that they're scaring me! i just can't imagine that in a few months time there's got to be a little someone to dress in such tiny clothes. i'm really hoping our scan on Wednesday helps to put things into perspective!

is anyone else noticing a routine to their baby's kicks? mine seems particularly active about 4pm. Yup, exactly the time when my energy reserves feel low. i'm pleased to hear we're not meant to be monitoring movements for a little while yet. it can be a couple of days inbetween kicks at the moment (but always consistent at 4pm!)

oops, sorry, another marathon post! I'm off to find the camera, i'll let you know if i get a picture worth posting!

miamla · 10/03/2008 21:06

sorry, me again! I've got a TENS from when i broke my back a couple of years ago. not sure if its suitable for labour but i'm sure as hell going to try!

has anyone tried (or planning on trying) meditation during labour? i've heard its meant to work but not from reliable sources so thought i'd ask you guys

haven't found camera yet but i have found some chocolate!

LadyOfWaffle · 10/03/2008 21:11

Miamla - I think I'll try anything/everything this time! Aromatherapy also - hospital had it as an option last time but I didn't take them up on it, or at least they had someone you could talk to about it. I am envisioning my bedroom decked out in as a labour paradise - birthing ball, soft lighting, music, candles/incense but I don't think it'll be like that at all! Probably me bouncing about the corridors on my birthing ball while DH is madly trying to ring the delivery suite and packing bags!

dizzydixies · 10/03/2008 21:15

miamla you broke your back!?? am never going to moan about dodgy hip ever again, well at least till next time its sore!!

alittlebitshy · 10/03/2008 21:28

miamla - me too - baby being popped out in whipps !!!!

miamla · 10/03/2008 21:43

dd hey you moan away about dodgy bits! breaking a back is very overrated

People laugh at me when i say it but i'm not worried about pain from childbirth because there really can't be anything worse than the pain i had from my back but hey, i guess i'll find out in a few months!

albs so where do you live? you do realise we're going to probably end up knowing each other or at least having a friend in common!
We can book beds next to each other in Whipps given how close our dates are!
