turtle [envy} @ your TENS machine. I really hope I get one (on a waiting list).
The physiotherapist was telling us the other day about a woman she knew that did really well with TENS in early labour and then when she came to hospital went into the birthing pool and felt she kind of lost the feeling of control the TENS had given her up to then. Anyone any experience of these machines in labour and whether to keep going if it's working well?
I'm planning to try the birthing pool which means no more TENS after that point.
Last night I had my first ever BH/practise contractions. It hurt and felt weird and not at all like I expected. I was not at all dying for it to be real labour. I don't think I'm psychologically ready for the baby to arrive yet. Well neither psychologically nor actually ready. Still a lot of things to organise. My brief interest in nesting abated months ago so although DH is doing lots of jobs around the house, things that wouldn't interest him e.g. buying nappies have not been done.
One more week of work for me - hurray. Weirdly I've been super productive the last couple of days. Some days I'm like a zombie and others I'm really on the ball and I can't always figure out what has made the difference. I think going to bed early might be one of them, but I'm still terrible for staying up late.
hurray, hurray for MarchMum so impressed you managed to talk them out of an induction, good for you.
hope all is well with SHH and she'll let us know her news soon.
Fluffsuptheduff - wow your Mum sounds fantastic My mother is the world's worse housewife (despite being a SAHM for all the years we were at home) but she's amazing with babies and knows a lot about breastfeeding, so she'll come into her own after the baby is here.
Paranoid - just sending you some fellow feeling on the "lightening" pains or whatever they are.
glam sorry to hear about your DH and hope today is a better day than yesterday sounded.
