Thinking weekends might be hard for me, as only time when DH and I can sort stuff together.

Would any one be up for meeting in the week, depending on mat leave?

Otherwise, will make effort for whatever day wins out.

MissingMyHeels · 23/01/2008 13:41

One day in the week would be better for me as I have just realised I have my beloved sofa being delivered on the 16th...

How would everyone feel about the 18th/19th or 20th?

Like the London Bridge idea, nice and easy for me as I am sure we'll all be MASSIVE by then.

e14mum · 23/01/2008 14:30

Like London Bridge- but third the suggestion for a weekday.

As a meet virgin, coming in from west london, London Bridge is still good for me as it is a short hop from Waterloo.

I know it's unoriginal but there is a Cafe Rouge in Hays Lane? Otherwise I only really know Gastro pubs!

surprisedandexcitedmum · 23/01/2008 15:13

Oh or Southwark and meet in the Tate Modern Cafe - culture anyone?

e14mum · 23/01/2008 15:23

Ooohh.. tate modern is good for me. but is it a bit of a hike from London Bridge or other stations?
Some nice cafe in Borough Market? What we need is somewhere with a lot of space.

merryberry · 23/01/2008 16:03

i'll can there and cab back, wherever you decide, if i am fit enough and free to make it! and not delivered by then (i wish)

given that my making a commitment to a plan is tantamount to shooting myself in my foot/developing plague, I won't jinx by joining in the planning

timmyinatizzy · 23/01/2008 16:19

Weekdays are good for me too.

JFly · 23/01/2008 18:10

Tate Modern v nice, but yes, a bit of a hike from train/tube.

Not very many spacious options in Borough Market, although v lovely cake shop/patisserie there (can't think of name) or Monmouth Coffee for best latte in town. Again, not loads of space, though. Or there's the tapas place Brindisi (?) if we want food rather than cakes/coffee. Mmmm, love Borough Market.....

Glammama · 23/01/2008 22:47

Any day of the week is good for me but I need to be in Aldgate by 3.15 every day except Wednesday. places in london Bridge thought this might be useful.

turtle23 · 23/01/2008 23:17

I can do absolutely any day. 22nd being suggested?

London Bridge on 22nd works for me....

e14mum · 24/01/2008 10:01

22nd good. Lunchtime? Or mid-morning coffee?

surprisedandexcitedmum · 24/01/2008 10:04

Fairenough about Tate.

22nd is good for me too, will head wherever.

Was it Konditor and Cook you were thinking of?

turtle23 · 24/01/2008 10:05

Why don't we do 1030 London Bridge/Southwark area on the 22nd as it's cake time, and those who fancy more food can stay on for lunch...Also Borough Market opens at noon so we can graze for even longer!!!

Wasn't Glam once singing the praises of a cake I mean coffee shop a while back? Was it cheesecake that won her over? (shouts)Glam?!

Okie doke. That all sounds fab to me.
The patisserie I'm thinking of is Lila's Patisserie. It's always got loads of merengues in the window and exposed brick and a kind of Frenchy feel to it. But small, so.....
And the tapas is Brindisa if anyone is interested. But so many lovely places, including Konditor and Cook.
Here's a link to map of BM with all the shops/stalls listed....

Glammama · 24/01/2008 10:37

I'm here, turtle! Just got up. I sing the praises of quite a few cakes coffee shops so not sure which one you mean. Like the sound of Lila's Patisserie though.

e14mum · 24/01/2008 10:53

it was the Wild Cherry banoffee pie that glam was once raving about
But that's in Bethnal Green...

e14mum · 24/01/2008 10:54

Lila's Patisserie sounds wonderful though. Drooling at my desk!

timmyinatizzy · 24/01/2008 11:48

1030 is good for me. I can get the dsd's packed off to school and then waddle into London

MissingMyHeels · 24/01/2008 12:12

Count me in! 22nd is good for me although and will be six days before this little one is supposed to coming out so be prepared for a terrified VERY fat me

turtle23 · 24/01/2008 18:55

Lila's sounds good, but does anyone know how big it is inside? We tke up a fair amount of space these days!
I have not much to do these days so am happy to get therearly and start staking claim if it's a problem.
Can't remember if Marchmum is coming, but if you are I haven't forgotten I owe you a cake!

Is this not a good thing...Lila's have a £3.50 per person minimum so there is (in a way) enforced cake eating. Teehee!
