@Adelyra Lol! Absolutely, I fully intend to go in strong. I'm going to tell my midwife in my booking appointment and keep pushing for it until they agree.

Hopefully your little one plays ball and you can have a straight forward VBAC. It's great that you have thought about what you do and don't want this time around.

Adelyra · 08/06/2021 20:49

@Sunshine8888 I am super foggy too. I think that's because I am super tired already.

@littlelionroars I think it's good to remember that we need to consent to every procedure. When it's a case of survival, it's logical that the element of choice is reduced but for everything we should be given a chance to make informed choices.

I am a big fan of Emily Oster's book Expecting Better, she's an economist and has poured through all the research on maternity, post natal care etc and she just gives you the risks and probability for each behaviour i.e. it's fine to eat sushi, don't garden without gloves, you can eat raw eggs etc. So then you can decide what risk you're happy with.

Personally I use the lottery to measure my risk. For example ECVs carry a 1/200 risk of having to have an emergency C section there and then. The OB-GYN who was trying to convince me to have one that it's low risk. But I thought if you told me I have a 1 in 200 chance to win the lottery I would get quite excited. So I decided against.

Hi all

I'm 34yo
Currently 6+1
This is my first pregnancy but my stepdaughter lives with us first time, she's 10
First day of last period: 26.04
EDD: 31.01
Prebooking app: 16.06
Booking in app: 06.07
No scans booked at the moment

Symptoms: nausea started on Sunday, comes and goes in waves. Gone off tea today! Slightly low mood today, just tired I think. Boobs slightly sore, but nothing much.

stripytiger09 · 09/06/2021 08:49

Just had a quick catch up of messages!

I'm 27
DS 20 months
3rd pregnancy
TFMR in Feb so a bit nervous about this one
First day of last period: 05.05
EDD: 6th Feb but I'm totally unsure as my cycles have been super short. Also had to be induced with my son for IUGR at 37 weeks so this one may be similar 🤷‍♀️
Makes me 5 weeks today, only symptoms are headaches, some odd cramping and the occasional sore boob but nothing major yet! Last pregnancy I had HG which was horrible. No sickness yet which is really playing on my mind! I keep testing to make sure it's still in there, lines are super dark so I guess all is okay.
Sent off the online referral form yesterday but I think I was supposed to wait until 6 weeks

Bundaberg84 · 09/06/2021 11:14

I just posted on the other February thread as there seems to be two. Unfortunately I got bad news today. Even though my hcg levels were great, there was nothing to see on the scan. I'm in that weird situation now that I hope for a chemical, and my hcg levels to drop. Because the only other possibility would be an ectopic pregnancy which really isn't what I'd want for anyone.
If you can send me some good vibes or whatever your believe system allows, I'd be really glad if you can hope for me for a chemical. ❤️
Also, I really hope I'm going to be the statistical chemical in this thread so you all have a healthy and perfect 9 months ahead 🤞

minthumbugs · 09/06/2021 11:19

I'm so sorry @Bundaberg84, I was really hoping that it would be good news for you today. And as weird as it sounds in this situation I am sending positive vibes that it's a chemical (hope you don't take that the wrong way) and that your ordeal is over with shortly. Lots of love and take care of yourself. Xxx

Bundaberg84 · 09/06/2021 11:27

@minthumbugs Thank you lovely! Yes it sounds wrong but it's what I need 😉

littlelionroars · 09/06/2021 11:31

@Bundaberg84 So sorry to hear your news. If it's any comfort, I had a similar experience in March. There was nothing on the scan, and the sonographer called it a pregnancy of undetermined location / possible ectopic, because my pregnancy tests were still showing a clear positive.

It was quite stressful at the time, but in the end it was just a chemical, and I managed to conceive again on my second cycle after it happened.

I hope it all goes smoothly for you. Take care of yourself. x

Bundaberg84 · 09/06/2021 11:41

@littlelionroars thank you for your encouragement! I think the chances of an ectopic are minimal, but still here. The thought of it is scary but at least I'd knew early enough.

Adelyra · 09/06/2021 12:26

@Bundaberg84 really gutted for you. I hope the next one is the one. I also hope that you are well surrounded and supported.

Bundaberg84 · 09/06/2021 12:40

@Adelyra thank you, I hope so as well! At least I made it to 6 weeks, last time it was only 4 weeks and 3 days I think.

Sunshine8888 · 09/06/2021 13:14

So sorry @Bundaberg84, I really hope it’s not an ectopic and that you can reset and try again v soon . Thanks for letting us know and really hope to hear about your BFP in the very near future 💞
