41 and pregnant

Hi I’m 41 shortly and 5 weeks pg. I have 2 teenage daughters from my previous marriage who I’m terrified to tell. I brought up the idea last week and they reacted badly. Youngest sobbed and oldest said she would move back with her dad 😭 I’m so stressed about telling them properly and just want to relax and be happy (because I am!) been with my new partner 5 years and he has no children. This baby is very wanted, but I feel it will ruin my relationship with my girls 😭 Any advice?

They will come round and accept it.
They don't sound the nicest tbh, making threats like that, but then that's teenagers for you. Wait till you're 12 weeks and then tell them. You'll feel better once you do.

I wonder if it'd be helpful to anticipate them taking a few weeks to get used to the news.

I know several families who've concieved a much younger youngest child. The older siblings have all come around and loved the baby when it's arrived.

Told them and all went well!
Such a huge relief and weight off my shoulders. Older one is very protective now and younger one excited about buying clothes! Phew! Thanks for advice xx
