oh dear claireybee - you've just added a new fear to my list (that I won't want to cuddle dd when I'm not feeding)

Amani · 24/10/2007 14:00

Actually don't really eat in the evenings - it leaves me feeling so bloated and sick. Eat a light snack around 6pm.

loucee · 24/10/2007 14:08

I did perineum massage last time with DD but found it quite painful (not entirely sure I was doing it right?!) so will try again this time round. I had an episiotomy with DD as she as a forceps delivery and there wasn't much room down there (were the words of the Consultant).

I tried to Raspberry tea last time but this time I've bought the tablets. I didn't find the tea too bad but thought I'd try something different this time round. It's supposed to help tone your uterus to help the 2nd stage of labour progress quicker, I think I also read that it's good to carry on drinking until your uterus returns to normal size.

I was the only one at aquanatal hope they don't stop the class due to lack of interest, I love getting a bit of exercise especially considering how many bad things I'm eating at the moment (must try harder to replace chocolate with fruit).

Amani · 24/10/2007 14:19

..and will also do the long walks, spicy food, eating pineapple etc at 36 weeks.

claraq · 24/10/2007 14:21

Thanks for raspberry tea info - when are we meant to start doing it? I will be 35 weeks on sat but don't want to bring on labour just yet! Also how often do you drink it?

claireybee · 24/10/2007 14:40

Sorry Skidaddle...

suey2 · 24/10/2007 14:47

My MW changed my stage of PG last week, from the LMP date to the date from the dating scan. 2 weeks late would be christmas eve! I have to confess i have been really aiming for the 6th of dec (I know i had BFP 4 weeks after my LMP)
I think i may change it back on my mat notes- am i bad?

mixedmama · 24/10/2007 15:04

amani - apparently you have to eat 7 pineapples for it to have the required effect, but all worth a go tho and apparently the rasp leaf tablets are better than the tea according to my mumsnet research as you have to drink a lot of it.

mixedmama · 24/10/2007 15:05

You guys are making me laugh... the way i feel at the minute i feel like changing it to this weekend - i am like a bleeding hippo.

skidaddle · 24/10/2007 15:16

amani - think you missed out the most effective way of bringing on labour

suey2 · 24/10/2007 15:18

what, skid, giving yourself the shits with castor oil or a hot curry?

OP posts:
skidaddle · 24/10/2007 15:21

blow jobs

Amani · 24/10/2007 15:22

skid - i have no idea what you are talking about....

Amani · 24/10/2007 15:25

ooohhhh
the thing that got me the big belly in the first place.....!!!

MM - 7 pineapples????!!! Forget that - going on the tablets and eating jars of jalepenos.

mixedmama · 24/10/2007 15:26

that worked for me last time

Amani · 24/10/2007 15:29

MM - huh??? eating the pineapples or the 'other thing'???

mixedmama · 24/10/2007 15:33

the "other" went into labour at 5 am the next morning.... not sure i have the energy this time tho.

skidaddle · 24/10/2007 15:34

MM worked for me too last time - I'm sure if we go a week or two overdue we will be willing to try anything

mixedmama · 24/10/2007 15:44

Thats true. I was lucky as he arrived on due date so none of this waiting around business. Really hope I am as lucky this time.

Amani · 24/10/2007 15:51

Well was 10 days early with DD so really really hoping for somethng along the same lines again - although I do remember going for a long walk up a steep hill and eating a jar of jalapeno the day before..wonder if that might have done the trick????

skidaddle · 24/10/2007 15:55

10 days early - lucky you I am assuming I'll go 2 weeks over this time (meaning Xmas day bday!) so that i don;t stress myself out if he is late and if he's 'early' (i.e. on time) it will be anice surprise.

What do jalapenos do?

Amani · 24/10/2007 15:59

Am sure I read a posting from Lulumama, who mentioned jalepenos or anything hot (i.e curries) is supposed to have some sort of effect on the bowel movements which in turn has a knock on effect on your uterus, which then get's things going.
