Hi all 👋🏻

Here's a new thread so we can keep chatting through the sleepless nights and the many outfits they've already grown out of... 😄

@Chanel05, I’ll PM you! I think I can add people, @MooseWL set it up. It’s lovely and great for asking questions too ☺️

Chanel05 · 16/02/2021 13:31

@glasha87 thanks so much Smile

glasha87 · 16/02/2021 14:14

No problem! I can’t see the pending invite but I’m sure @MooseWL will approve when she sees it ☺️

Margo34 · 18/02/2021 12:49

Baby girl has just cut her first 2 teeth!! She's only 19 weeks!!! Oh my breastfeeding was already beginning to get uncomfy with the yanks and twists 😩 Anyone elses bub cut their first teeth yet?!

NeuroMama · 18/02/2021 13:32

Oh could I get the Facebook group info too please. I didn't join originally as I hadn't used FB in years but I've since found the parenting groups on various topics invaluable so back on there more.

MooseWL · 18/02/2021 13:47

@margo34 oh no already? Has your LO been fussy? No teeth yet but I think he's definitely teething (his poos smell absolutely vile) 😂

OrDis · 18/02/2021 14:18

@Margo34 I think Audreys will come soon, shes been majorly teething the last couple of days! Then again, could take ages I guess!

NeuroMama · 18/02/2021 14:56

@MooseWL thanks. Request sent 🙂

Margo34 · 18/02/2021 16:37

@MooseWL @OrDis She's been ridiculously fussy, very wakeful at night and very needy of cuddles and comfort for a little over a week, I've hardly been allowed to set her down and comfort from her dad just hasn't been acceptable to her either so I'm frazzled 😬. At one point she was waking every 20m at night! She'd fall asleep on me, I'd put her in bed then 20m later rinse and repeat! She had a little red bum and really stinky poos too which all makes sense now! I was starting to get frustrated with the intensity and being all touched out, now it makes sense I feel guilty for feeling frustrated!! Poor baby. She's been chewing everything, loves her Nuby wacky teething ring though

OrDis · 18/02/2021 17:06

@Margo34 yes that sounds similar to what we are experiencing. Aud has only done liquid poos for the last two days which concerns me slightly, but only one a day... it’s a bit weird!!

ShiningStarz · 18/02/2021 18:03

Awwww teeth!! Our little girl has the dribble rash around her mouth last couple days so I don't think teeth are far away for her! I'm constantly mopping up drool and her bibs get changed at least 2/3 times a day now !!

kersh33 · 18/02/2021 21:00

I've sent a Facebook request too.

Smilymami · 19/02/2021 09:45

@Margo34 My baby cut the bottom two teeth last month (4months) and call me crazy but I think the top two are about to come through too.. he just bites at anything and everything he can lay his mouth upon and he is drooling seriously

kersh33 · 19/02/2021 13:44

Wow @Smilymami and @Margo34 ! How exciting to have teeth already!

DD still chews a lot and dribbles a fair bit but I think teeth are still a little way off. She goes through phases where she chews everything and then it calms down again. Mind you, I'm not sure I will continue breastfeeding once teeth start to come through so maybe not a bad thing!

kersh33 · 20/02/2021 10:09

Can I ask you all whether your babies have all started rolling or sitting on their own yet? DD will be 6 months next week and has only ever rolled over once. She can sit up between my legs with some support but can't pull herself up on her own. She isn't scooting or anything yet. Though if she wriggles a lot she will move around her mat a bit.

Should I be getting worried?

ShiningStarz · 20/02/2021 10:23

Hi @kersh33 snap! Our little girl is 5.5 months. She tried to sit up by lifting her neck off the bed but has only ever managed 1 roll and I think it was an accident lol. She hates tummy time! Does she sit up sided and hate good neck and head control? I think that's the important one at this stage as signals they are ready for the high hair and weaning!!

I wouldn't be worried, from what Iv read every child progresses at different speeds so try not to compare your baby to the 'textbook' baby! X

ShiningStarz · 20/02/2021 10:23

@kersh33 aided and have lol

kersh33 · 20/02/2021 10:40

Thanks @ShiningStarz that is a bit reassuring. Yes - she sits aided really well, for example she'll sit between my legs when we're reading a book quite happily, and has had great head control from about 4 months. It's hard when you see the milestones to know how hard and fast they should be.
I try to encourage the rolling by spreading her toys around and occasionally when she's on her side I'll push her all the way over. But she doesn't seem to display much interest in doing it on her own.

OrDis · 20/02/2021 11:04

Dd is only 20 weeks but she can only roll one way- back to front, she then just lies on her tummy and get’s frustrated! I’ve just started trying to get her sat up more (with support) and she’s alright at it (useless without any) but she seems to always have her head a bit forward... I think its just because she’s looking down tho- fiddling with her hands etc...

MooseWL · 20/02/2021 11:20

@kersh33 Jacob is 21 weeks and started rolling a week ago (but will only roll to the right and not to the left!) the week before I was putting a toy to the side just out of his reach and rolling his hips and letting him roll his body then a few days later he just did it on his own! I don't know if it actually helped or if it was just coincidence!
He's no where near sitting on his own though.
I really wouldn't worry like @shiningstarz says every baby is different and do things when they're ready the milestone times are just guides!

Margo34 · 20/02/2021 21:14

@Smilymami I will be looking sooooo closely at her top gums for any signs of her next teeth, these first ones took us by surprise 😂 I'm keen to continue BF but have she's at a really fussy feeding stage at the moment bobbing on and off with every suck and twisting yanking pulling too 🙈 she scraped her teeth over my nipple earlier too trying to pull off and I yelped it made her nearly cry 😭😢 we'll have to see how it goes me thinks!!

@kersh33 mine is almost 20w and so close to rolling but hasn't managed yet, she somehow shuffles on her playmat and does a full 'round the clock' rotation though. She likes tummy time now (hasn't always), and I've just got her a fab new book which she absolutely loves! www.amazon.co.uk/Baby-Touch-Tummy-Time/dp/0241422345/?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Lilice · 20/02/2021 21:19

@kersh33 my baby has never rolled, not even once. Doesnt show any interest in it either. She's more interested in sitting up. When on her mat, she just lies there and touches her toys. Im not worried, i know she'll eventually do it when she feels like it. I have to say that i dont give her enough tummy time so that's probably my fault. Also, she loves her jumparoo so im now limiting the time she spends in there.

ShiningStarz · 20/02/2021 22:24

@Lilice the jumperoo is brilliant!! Wev found though that we need to also limit time in it as it makes her so over tired! She gets it for 10 mins twice a sat, usually after mid morning sleep and late afternoon sleep!! The first day we got it she used it at the wrong times and it affected her sleep!!

OrDis · 21/02/2021 09:38

@kersh33 love the look of that book! Have just brought one!

emma278 · 21/02/2021 21:28
