@woollycat no no just 40 in total think I packed like 15.. if I wanted to take all 40 I would need a trailer for the car going by the size of them! 🤣🤣. Think I'll get some more too then while I still have time!

november90 · 16/05/2020 14:54

@helpasisterout I am on day 3 of pads, I brought a packet of ten and the hospital gave me half a packet when I came from delivery and I've got a good supply left :)

Raindancer411 · 16/05/2020 15:31

I wasn't feeling much movement this morning so decided to go into the garden. Wish I hadn't now as when she moved or I walk, I am getting lightening crotch feelings Confused

Bumpingalong84 · 16/05/2020 15:49

Ladies a quick question. Just curious did anyone have growth scans at 36 wks and how did babies weight compare to what the estimate was?

MarshmallowsOnToast · 16/05/2020 16:07

@Raindancer411

Ouch! Glad you're feeling movement again though.

I thought I was maybe having contraction twinges but think mine is just lightening crotch too where baby is head butting me & going to town wriggling.

Boo, I really want some signs of impending labour now! 🙈

Emmacb82 · 16/05/2020 16:20

@Bumpingalong84 I had my scan on 21st April and he was estimated at 6lbs 5, he was born early at 36+5 and weighed 6lbs 15 so pretty accurate for me I think

Bumpingalong84 · 16/05/2020 16:49

God help me then haha at 36+1 she was estimated at 7lb1!! I’m 39+3 now 😬 my daughter was born at 36+3 and she was 7lb3 so guessing this baby following in her sisters footsteps. I’m guessing she’ll be about 8lb8 ish 🙈

CharlieB93 · 16/05/2020 16:57

Anyone noticed movements not as harsh later on? I’m 40 week on Monday and baby is still moving about but more rolls and twitches than big movements? I’m guessing there’s lack of room in there now!

Emmacb82 · 16/05/2020 17:18

I’m actually quite grateful that mine was so early! I think he would have been 10lbs if he had gone to term 😬

Purple29 · 16/05/2020 17:24

Congrars to all the new mummies.. @november90 I have only just been catching up, obviously my little one was 10 weeks early so went straight to neonatal, dont know if you still had questions

Its hard but the staff were always amazing. Kept me fully updated and helped at every stage.

Also they say as long as you are the constant vice and smell then they bind with you most, even if you have to leave them. They know who their mama is xx

woollycat · 16/05/2020 17:51

So I had found the Positive Birth Company's hypnobirthing digital pack really helpful, and now I have bought their Postpartum back - we have just started watching it and it's really good!

It's currently £20.

november90 · 16/05/2020 17:55

@Bumpingalong84 mine measured about 6lbs 9 at our 36 week scan and was born at 9lbs13oz at 40+3 🙈 The thing with growth scans is that they measure bone and not chub so they can't always be that accurate! I don't think mine was accurate at all because I have measured large the whole way through and the measurements at the scan were average!

@Purple29 thank you for the message :) I was feeling a bit worried this morning but I've been cuddling him all afternoon and he even fed directly from me and after he did he wouldn't stop looking at me and holding my finger! It was so lovely! I feel so lucky :) how's your little one doing?

Bumpingalong84 · 16/05/2020 18:24

@Emmacb82 I’m so worried about having a 9lb+ baby in here 🙈 with my DD being 7lb3 at 36wks I cant imagine this baby will be small!

@november90 so you were measuring smaller than me at 36wks eek!! I do love a bit of chub on a baby, guess I’m just nervous having had one episiotomy and I’ve been told usually second time mums don’t need them but I bet I end up with one with a big baby!

This was my bump Thursday at 39+1 I’ve always measured the exact weeks I am or a week less. I feel huge 🙈

Raindancer411 · 16/05/2020 18:29

@charlieB93 yes it's not as big movements the further you go, as they have less room

Purple29 · 16/05/2020 18:37

@november90 he is doing amazing. Still a tiny 5lbs 9.5!! But he was 2lbs 8 at his smallest so he feels big to me now!!

Loving being back home and we have mastered feeding, hes a total milk monster now!! Thanks for asking x

Moongirl10 · 17/05/2020 00:34

I’m 38+3 and starting to get the dreaded messages from people asking if I’ve had the baby yet, or ‘I bet you can’t wait much longer to have the baby’.

Feel enormous too and I’m only 5’1.

november90 · 17/05/2020 07:01

@Moongirl10 @Bumpingalong84 your bumps are both so lovely!!!
My tummy measurements were all over the place. They really aren't that accurate as it depends on baby's position and the rest of your tummy contents (as my midwife put 🙈). I was so petrified of a big baby, but he cane out in one price and I'm here to tell the tale :) I'm just hoping that he will fit into some of his clothes whoever we get to go home 🙈

facevalue · 17/05/2020 07:56

@november90 how are you doing? any updates?
my DD is improving - still won't take the boob so i'm expressing - my hubby had to order bottles and sterilisers ( was not the plan!) but that's just life

goodluck all

Clairesoph · 17/05/2020 08:08

I dreamt I went for my section and my baby was too big so they had to take the front of my tummy off like a door 🤣 I think I'm reading too many size worries cos I have no reason to believe he's any bigger than 7-8lbs but suddenly the fear is real 🤣🤣

sao81 · 17/05/2020 08:34

I'm only just catching up on this thread now, we came home on Friday, had a long night with a very windy baby who wouldn't sleep but some new teats have fixed that and feeling much more sane today! How is everyone doing? And sorry if I've missed anyone 😩
@helensss congratulations! 💕 xxx
@woollycat I was getting cramps on Monday and Tuesday, nothing regular but mild period cramping, turns out I was already 1cm dialated before they started me off on Wednesday so guessing these pains were early labour pains!
@helpasisterout I took in a pack of disposable pants like tena ladies instead if maternity pads and they have been so much comfier! I would definitely recommend them, I just got supermarkets own brand
@facevalue sorry to hear you are still in, its horrible being there by yourself I felt the same and I only stayed 2 nights so can't imagine how you're feeling!
@Bumpingalong84 I had a growth scan day before we had baby and they said 7lb6oz, he was 7lb exactly

november90 · 17/05/2020 09:32

@Purple29 aww bless him! That's such a good weight improvement for such a little one ❤️ He will soon start to pile it on with all the milk I'm sure ☺️

@Bumpingalong84 I forgot to say! My episiotomy didn't tear! I had a very small second dear tear which was stitched and really isn't bothering me so hopefully you will be ok :)

@facevalue we are doing really well thank you! It was only yesterday he started feeding from me directly and I was so relieved as with my first he wouldn't feed from me directly for a few weeks! He's still on neonatal though so i kept having to go down to the ward during the night to feed him. He's out of the incubator now and now wires other then monitors so I'm hoping he can come up tonight and then just maybe home tomorrow if everything stays stable :) thank you for asking. Are you still on for your own recovery or your little girls? I hope you're both ok ❤️

woollycat · 17/05/2020 10:25

39+3 here and absolutely no signs!

My colostrum syringes are arriving today, I might attempt some expressing although I am not very confident I know how to!

Purple29 · 17/05/2020 10:59

@november90 yeah hes putting it on steadily and health visitor is happy with his progress. The last few days hes turned into a proper little milk monster so hoping that's him now totally got feeding and he will have the chubby cheeked baby look in no time!! Fingers crossed your little one makes it off the unit soon and back to the ward with you.

@woollycat for hand expressing there are plenty of videos on YouTube that will show you but a warm cloth before you start and massage the breast down to wards the nipple to stimulate flow before ehand will make it easier. Hand expressing can be a bit painful!! X

MarshmallowsOnToast · 17/05/2020 11:02

40+5 and no real signs for me either.

Been out for a 4 mile walk earlier, it's as far as I could manage.

Birthing ball not yielding much & been on the spicy food 🌶

Come on baby!

november90 · 17/05/2020 11:38

@woollycat yes get expressing!!!!! I swear that did it for me and my sister said the same :) just imagine milking a cow 😂

@Purple29 that's just amazing! I remember with my first that things just felt more settled when we established our feeds so I hope you're both there :)

Wohooo Marley is coming in the ward with me and then all being well we can go home tomorrow! 😀❤️ They said he has a slow heart rate but nothing to worry about. Well I am worried so I'm going to question further!
