Wow such a long way away but hey ho!

EDD Dec 1. Very excited although nervous given the world circumstances atm. Hopefully it's sticky though! This will (🤞) be baby 4#.

Hi guys,
Hoping I can join this thread. I have just found out that I’m pregnant. Due on 12/10/20. Slightly nervous as it’s my first and I think I need to do more tests to be sure!

meerkatmummy · 10/04/2020 09:40

Welcome @Wosie26! 🤞🏻 for a sticky bean xx

2020wish · 10/04/2020 11:42

Hi all 👋 I’m due 16/12/20 I’ve just sent a request through for the Facebook group

GrandTheftWalrus · 11/04/2020 12:22

Hi all. Tentatively joining as due 13/12/20.

Had a chemical pregnancy last year so hoping this is sticky.

calimommy · 11/04/2020 16:52

Hello @GrandTheftWalrus @2020wish & @Wosie26 x

Hiya. Tentatively popping in to introduce myself. I’m unexpectedly expecting DC3. First 2 births were a bit of a shit show so let’s see what happens this time Blush. I always wanted more but DH didn’t/doesn’t. He’s gradually accepting it now though. I have DD who is 4 and DS 14 months.

I’m due around 22/12.

It’s gone a bit quiet in here...

calimommy · 14/04/2020 07:41

@Didyeaye haha welcome, sending positive thoughts for a third time lucky easy peasy birth 🤞🤞🤞

Didyeaye · 14/04/2020 09:26

Thanks @calimommy. How are you? Are you about 7 weeks now?

calimommy · 14/04/2020 16:28

Yes haha, all good except for nausea which is ok some days and worse others. Scan next week so on tender hooks until that. 😬 our third wasn't planned either but he is definitely marking his place now 😂 how are you?

How has everyone been keeping? I'm looking forward to people getting their scans in, it gets more interesting from that point I think. I absolutely hate the first trimester as it's so boring, you are sick and exhausted but no one really knows about the pregnancy. If my 8 weeks scan goes well we might start telling people. From my experience a good 8 weeks scan has always continued well. And tbh anything can happen at any point so I'm not bothered about that. Actually I'll wait until the bloods come back, 9-10 weeks, and then tell people. Interested to see my mothers reaction. She is of the opinion that I would be a better mother if I went back to work, apparently I am "too in-tune with my children". How terrible eh.

  1. I live across the world from her and she never visits 2. She was a SAHM. Okay then! Anyho I have rambled haha

I’m ok thanks! It’s starting to sink in. I’ve gone from shock and panic to absolutely wanting this wee one and now hitting the normal early days paranoia!! Is it a private scan you’re having? I had one around 7/8 weeks with both the others but not sure I’ll get one this time with covid.
I find myself wanting to blurt it at anyone j speak to. Working from home makes it a b it easier to hide at this stage mind you.
Too in tune with your children. Hmm I can see why that would be a problem. WinkGrin

NoNameIdeas · 14/04/2020 20:36

All good here...other than feeling sick alllllll day and having zero energy! Definitely much harder this time with having dc1 to run around after! Hope everyone is doing ok xx

calimommy · 14/04/2020 22:07

@Didyeaye Yes private but it's part of the normal procedure here, so it's all through my obstetrician. We live in California atm. They do a scan at 8 weeks to check the foetus is growing and if that is good then they go ahead and do your 'booking in', blood work etc. Makes sense tbh. No point doing bloods and starting a whole process if it's a mmc, ectopic or similar. When we were at home my GP actually did an 8 week scan in her office, for the same reasons, so I have always had 8 weeks scans. Massively reassuring imo, I wouldnt like to have to wait till 12 weeks. The two 8 week scans that went badly were both lost whereas the three good scans are currently soaking each other with the hose in the back garden. Fingers crossed until next week!

Hello all, I just did my first ever pregnancy test this morning and it came back positive! I'm about 5 and a half weeks, so I make that a December due date? I've not even rang the doctors yet, but I feel like I have to talk to someone about it!!

Didyeaye · 15/04/2020 20:20

@calimommy that does sound like a good way of doing it. I’ve never waited until the 12 week scan but don’t think I’ll have much choice this time. I did phone the midwives today tho and waiting for the one who will be my midwife to call me and arrange a time to do my initial appt by phone. They’ll then arrange for blood tests etc which I’m not looking forward to! I’m fine with needles just don’t fancy the health centre at the mo!

@NoNameIdeas yup it’s def harder when you have other DCs already!

@Marshmallow1102 wahhhhhh!!! Congratulations! How do you feel about it? Talk away Smile

Marshmallow1102 · 16/04/2020 07:21

@Didyeaye Thank you! I'm over the moon, keep stroking my tummy thinking about the tiny baby growing in it! We've been ready to have children for a few years, so I can't quite believe that it's finally happening!! Can't wait for week 12 so that we can tell people, I just want to shout it from the rooftops; I must have told DH that I'm growing a baby about a hundred times yesterday 😂

Stephi89 · 16/04/2020 08:29

Elle1990 · 17/04/2020 09:19

Hi ladies, congrats to you all!
Looks like I’m due 5th Dec according to the calculators!
Anyone feeling like they’ve been hit by a bus?! This is my first pregnancy and I wasn’t quite prepared for this massive hangover-like feeling!
Think my OH thinks I’m being a bit over dramatic as his sister had next to no symptoms!
X

GrandTheftWalrus · 17/04/2020 12:02

@Stephi89 I've requested to join x

calimommy · 17/04/2020 14:54

Hi all! Excited for everyone x @Elle1990 yes I feel exhausted and sick. I find it more so because I can't get out but I have DC so I'm quite busy with them and I think it helps to take my mind off it here and there. It's like a bad hangover without the fun the night before. @GrandTheftWalrus & @Stephi89 there is also a general Facebook page for December if you would like to join that x

OP posts:
Elle1990 · 17/04/2020 15:38

@calimommy exactly that!! Aww yes at least you have distractions! With lockdown at the mo I can’t think about much else!! I want an early scan so badly but my OH says just be patient :( !

calimommy · 17/04/2020 15:43

@Elle1990 I have my first scan and appointment next Monday. I'm so nervous that it's not growing. It's routine here to do a scan and first appointment at 8 weeks. They do a scan first and I feel it makes a lot of sense, no point doing bloods or paperwork if the pregnancy is non-viable.

OP posts:
Elle1990 · 17/04/2020 16:23

@calimommy oh bless you, got everything crossed for you! Do you mind me asking what makes you think that lovely? X
I completely agree that that makes sense. I wish that we did that here. Another 5 1/2 weeks wait feels like forever.
