Just lovely seeing all your scans!!

I have my scan tomorrow morning and mostly very excited but also a little bit apprehensive, mostly to check all OK since my scan 2 weeks ago but also for the NT measurement etc... I'm 38 so aware the risk is a little higher.

Hi everyone. Hope everyone is doing well! I am just over 13 weeks, and for some reason today I seem to have become very anxious and scared something bad has happend. Is this normal to have this fear? I have had two miscarriages before this pregnancy but am now further along than I have ever been in the past. It's weird I just cant explain this dreaded feeling xx

@Jessem29 Pregnancy is just a stressful time globally so I don't think there is a right or wrong way to approach it.

I was very nervous leading up to the 12 week scan, but felt better afterwards. Of course things can still go wrong, but it is much less likely and there really isn't much I can do to weigh on the outcome. So I've decided to enjoy the pregnancy and if anything bad happens I'll deal with it as and when rather than worrying about it beforehand.

But I think being anxious is quite normal. If you feel it is impacting on your quality of life I would consider mentioning it to your doctor/midwife though. Good luck! 😊

@Jessem29 I could literally reiterate the advice of @kersh33 as it is very good advice. I spent a great deal of my first pregnancy worrying and I regretted it afterwards as I wished I'd enjoyed it more. I know it's difficult, but other than being sensible and healthy, it's all out of your control. Try and put some trust in your body and baby too 💖 have you had your scan yet? By the way, the anxiety lessens when you can feel baby moving around properly, you can monitor them more closely and you'll feel more in control. Hang in there lovely lady 💖 x

@kersh33 @mammasj thank you both so much. Yes I had my 12 week scan last week..I am 13 and half weeks now. I feel a little better today. I have been so tried this week so struggling to think rationally. I really want to enjoy it and dont want to regret worrying. You are so right too. It is 100% out of my control so why not enjoy it. I think because after our scan we told our families. They have been so kind and excited, I almost picked about everyone getting carried away!

I am wishing everyone the best of luck with there scans. It really it the most magical thing! Xxx

@Jessem29 I completely understand your worries, I've honestly been in that exact position. Even now on baby 3 I struggle sometimes to put the anxiety aside. I am looking forward to feeling all the movements for that very reason. But pregnancy goes so fast, we really do need to enjoy it all 🥰 statistically, the odds are massively in your favour at this stage, your body is doing it all right 💖 start a scrap book! It'll keep you occupied in a positive way. I love looking back on mine! 🥰 xx

Thank you so much @Beth804 !! 😬 I can't quite work out myself what I'm looking at 😂 how are you feeling!? Your bump must be blooming by now with two!? 😃 xx

Beth804 · 24/02/2020 21:04

@Mammasj it's massive! I'm furiously rubbing bio-oil on to try and stop any stretch marks. Think I'm fighting a losing battle as it's growing so fast! Still have 'first trimester' sickness though which is totally rubbish 😩

I had another scan a few days ago which was lush, couldn't believe how much they'd grown in a week!

@Mammasj How are you feeling? How many weeks?

Report
Mammasj · 24/02/2020 21:30

@Beth804 Aww what a beautiful photo! So amazing to see two in there! Are they in their own sacs? Are they identical? I can just imagine the speed of your growing belly! Bio oil did me wonders on baby 1. I didn't get time on baby 2 and I paid for it 🤦🏽‍♀️😂 so keep at it.

I'm 13 weeks tomorrow, but strangely, started getting some sickness since 11 weeks! Really bizarre for it to kick in so late. Other than that, I'm great thank you 😊 looking forward to telling everyone this coming weekend and then waiting on movements. You'll no doubt feel movements much earlier if not already!? 😃 xx

Hey everyone,
Had my scan last week - baby was healthy and measuring 12+5, wriggling around everywhere and not cooperating with the sonographer! Was super cute

@IslayBrigid I hope you're right but yeh at angels thing is, I didn't have any sickness at all up until the 11 week mark 🤷🏻‍♀️ it's eases this past day or so and I'm 13 weeks now. So we will see I guess 😬 I'm still convinced there's another boy cooking in there lol xx

Hi everyone! I've just been catching up on everyone's comments. How lovely are all these scan pictures?!!!! We went for our scan yesterday and I still feel like I'm on a high from seeing the little baby inside me wriggling away. It's real life magic how we can grow a while other human inside of us!

@Mammasj I did a scrap book/bullet journal with my first baby, and I love looking back and comparing especially the scan pics! It's a great idea to do one and and so much fun. It'll be lovely for the children to look back when they are older too.

Any nub theory experts fancy giving mine a go? I am clueless as to what I'm cooking!

@Vialarooski I need to start my scrap book this time actually but with two kids and working, time is harder to find these days! Lol I such a lovely idea and you're right, the kids will appreciate it when they are older.

Ooh I'll take a guess but bear in mind I'm no expert and I'm quite rubbish 😂 what was the gestation at the scan!? Xx

@Vialarooski So the scan was at 12+6? If that's right, I'm going to guess boy! 💙 the nub looks to be pointing up, looks stacked and the bladder is underneath to me which are all signs of a boy 😀 but like I said, I'm rubbish. I can't even find a nub in my picture! 😂

@IslayBrigid what do you think? X
