Hey everyone,

Hoping there will be some people moving over here from conception like me who just got their BFPs.

I’m currently 3 weeks and 5 days - feeling the bloat already and tiredness! Scared but excited :)

Could only see an Aug/sept bus and I’m a little later as my EDD is 18/09/2020

Did try and join the September bus that’s already on there but was lost in translation or something šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø As nobody wanted to chat, feeling a little lonely as the girls on the conception boards were so lovely and wish I had someone to move here with!

Anyway I’ll try and start a new one here and see how it goes :)

Hi all, bit nervous posting this here...got my BFP on Monday. Due on 11th September. 5+2 today. Super nervous as had a miscarriage in Nov after 13 months TTC. Fell very quickly this time and weren't actively trying. So nervous but feeling very different to last time. See there are a few others on this thread going through similar...would be great to support each other!

Babytrain89 · 12/01/2020 17:04

Should have added congratulations to you all on your BFPs!!!

B0220s · 12/01/2020 17:28

Congratulations @Babytrain89 this is also my bfp after a miscarriage except it's take. Us a year to conceive again, I also feel very different this time, hoping that's a good sign I've booked a scan for 27th I will be just over 8 weeks then just to find out if everything is ok, have you had many symptoms?
X

Babytrain89 · 12/01/2020 17:35

@B0220s Mainly just boobs sore on and off and a bit of nausea if I dont eat regularly. Have been very hungry and thirsty as well. What about you?
Its such a stressful time ... I want to be excited bit I'm so scared of it all going wrong. No point ringing doc as you don't book in until week 8. Weve discussed an early scan as well!

Babytrain89 · 12/01/2020 17:35

Argh sorry @B0220s sent before I was finished.
Really sorry to hear about your miscarriage...fingers crossed for a sticky one for you! X

B0220s · 12/01/2020 17:45

I've had nausea and hot flushes along with rapid heartbeat if I do much more than walk to the toilet lol!
I've got zero appetite have to force myself to eat and gone off anything sweet at all ( that's really unlike me haha) I really hope this one sticks, my partner wasn't as keen as me for early scan but I think it's the only way I'm going to half relax if I see a heartbeat, I've booked my midwife appt that's on 22nd of this month I will be a couple of days off 8 weeks then.
Xx

Babytrain89 · 12/01/2020 18:32

Yes I have the sweet thing too! Literally gone right off anything sweet and that used to be my vice!
Its so hard in these first few weeks isnt it? Ive found that no one in the medical profession is really interested. Ive said if I get to end of next week then I'll book an appt. Sounds really pessimistic but just trying to be measured this time and set little milestones! Keep wanting to buy more tests but scared to take them if that makes any sense! Xx

K8113 · 12/01/2020 18:58

@Babytrain89 omg I called my doctors surgery and they literally said ummm well must mean your pregnant call the local midwife ... honestly I almost cried I thought hang on a second here I'm pregnant that's major and I need some assistance, I got given a web address that didn't even work so called the hospital directly got given a number and asked to leave a voicemail, haven't heard back yet so fretting a bit and just a bit pissed off in all honesty! But positive hat on and I'm sure I can sort it tomorrow.

I can't believe how much water I am consuming I am thirsty ALL the time!

I can't wait to just have the scan and know everything is okay until then think I'm going to be a worried mess in all honesty xxx

B0220s · 12/01/2020 19:07

@Babytrain89 yes I miss sweet things lol but when I look at them I'm just feeling nothing haha, milestones are good I'm trying to do the same but just full of anxiety.
@K8113
That's awful! I'm sorry they did that to you my dr was quite helpful and hoping the midwife will be the same, maybe as your dr about the thirst I've read somewhere it can be related to diabetes in some extreme cases xx

Lazydaisydaydream · 12/01/2020 19:53

@K8113 unfortunately you won't really get any assurances from GP or midwife, it's too early. That's why they don't even do the booking in appointment until after 8 weeks as there's higher risk of something going wrong before then and nothing they can do if it does go wrong.

I completely empathise with you though because I found it really hard during my last pregnancy to just be left to it.Flowers

Babytrain89 · 12/01/2020 20:11

Sadly there is very little support for early pregnancy. Even my miscarriage there was no support. EPU were awful, wouldnt even see me. It is because of the higher risk of pregnancy loss, which you would think would warrant more support even if just mentally. Most midwife services are self refer now and doc needs very little involvement. Im going to book in with my doc cos of past history (pray I get that far) and will go from there. we're paying for our own early scan though for reassurance.

K8113 · 12/01/2020 20:30

@Lazydaisydaydream @Babytrain89 thanks girls for understanding, I totally get why they take a more hands off approach but with it being my first and having never been in the situation before I would have just appreciated a little guidance from them, luckily I have this platform and fab girls like you to help :) so thank you very much appreciated!

Happy Sunday everyone another day closer :) xxx

Babytrain89 · 12/01/2020 20:45

Hi @K8113,
What I should have started with is that I understand. I was under the doc because we were about to start fertility tests. I practically skipped back the first time...only to be almost be turned away and told to come back again in a few weeks. it is ao disconcerting. As you say, for us it feels major and we want guidance and there is none. Swear the start of pregnancy can be the loneliest! Keep going girl...you've got this! Xx

Sunflower2019 · 12/01/2020 21:04

Evenings girls, just been catching up!!! How are we all?
I’ve been having sharp sudden pains.. I keep jumping, apparently it’s just ligament pain but it’s awful.
I’ve also gone off sweet things, had a yogurt earlier but it’s very odd!! I’ve got quite a sweet tooth usually.
I’ve also started tidying up a lot and trying to get the house in order, which is odd!!!!
Have been okay but quite emotional and partner is struggling with me also, seem to take things to heart a lot more! Xx

@Sunflower2019
Hope your pains pass soon! I just get cramps every couple of days nothing sharp though, sweet things are not on my radar lately!
I'm also being super tidy lately and that really isn't me lol!
Can't you ask to see different gp?
Xx

Babytrain89 · 12/01/2020 22:24

Oh my gosh. Seems the tidying thing is actually a thing!!! Ive been getting so stressed at there just being 'stuff' in places there shouldnt be. Its my stuff and usually I'm just haphazard. Im making a mental list of all of the things that need doing as well. Driving my OH mad!! Glad to see it's not me and may in fact be pregnancy related!!

mimmi91 · 13/01/2020 07:10

Hahaha I'm certainly looking forward to this tidying phase then, my flat could use some tidying up lol!! Wink

However, I have noticed some serious weight loss though! Shock

I've lost over 1 1/2 pound over the weekend, yet I've eaten very normally (haven't had nausea, or gone off sweets, so that can't be it!!).
I'm quite surprised, because I thought I'd have gained weight, especially considering that I have been seriously bloated the past few days!
Anyone else noticed weight loss after a BFP???

mimmi91 · 13/01/2020 07:11

*sorry, meant 2.5 pounds!

K8113 · 13/01/2020 07:21

@mimmi91 morning I saw your post and weighted myself this morning and I've lost 2.3kg so about 5lbs since Monday last week ... haven't had any morning sickness but putting mine down to no drinking and eating incredibly healthy but yeah agree strange :) hope your well otherwise, I can't wait to clean too haha xxx

Stephi89 · 13/01/2020 07:53

Got my midwife booking appointment booked in for the 27th! I'll be 6+3, seems a bit early but she said September is their busiest month so I'm best to get in asap to get myself on the system!

I'm also going to book a private scan for that Saturday, when I'll be 7+1. Just to convince myself there is actually something in there.

Word of warning with private scans as well: sonograohers don't need to be registered. If they are NHS/ previous NHS then they have done 3 or 4 years at uni and have a radiography degree then a further masters in Ultrasonography. But anybody can buy a machine and start a clinic. So just be careful who you book! (I'm a radiography student and my lecturers have put the absolute fear into me about it)

mammamon · 13/01/2020 09:04

Hi guys, I am due 10th September. This is my 4th child. I have three boys aged 13, 11 and 4. I am in New Zealand 😊

B0220s · 13/01/2020 09:20

@mammamon congratulations how are you feeling?

@Stephi89 thanks for that info In regards to private scan I will look into it for sure.

@mimmi91 I'm unsure about weight loss I will weigh myself later and let you know lol xxSmile

mimmi91 · 13/01/2020 11:17

@K8113 that's so weird that you've also lost weight!!
I did find some google answers saying that it's pretty normal to lose weight in the first trimester, even without vomitting/nausea...

I just don't want to lose any more weight, otherwise my BMI will be too low Confused
I guess I'll try to eat bigger portions... I've also noticed I get full quite fast after eating, hence smaller portions atm...
