Hi guys, I have just found out I am 6 weeks pregnant based in the Croydon area. I am trying to figure out which hospital has the best Maternity services. Croydon University Hospital, Farnborough Princess Royal Hospital or Kings University Hospital, East Surrey hospital. Can anyone share there experiences on the hospital list above or advice on how to choose a hospital?
Also does anyone know if there are any independent community midwives services locally?

So many factors to take into account.
What are you looking for in an independent midwife? There are a few of us around but we have a wide range of skills & specialisms. Let me know a bit more & I may be able to link you up with someone. May be best to do that first and them work out which hospital .All this is tied together by what you want. What you consider “best” might not be for someone else.

I've birthed in both CUH and Princess royal
Both great experiences,
I was closest to CUH and cannot fault them the staff are great and do take care of you.
I felt like I was rushed out of Princess royal I got home in three hours after giving birth late at night with my second!
Also midwife I was seen locally to where I lived when I was with Croydon however when I was with PRUH I had to go to kings college for scans.

Congratulations x

@MummaJinx congratulations on your bfp. I am Croydon too and chose PRUH for dc1 and will go back with dc2. Depending on your location I would use that as consideration when choosing. At PRUH, scans are at Kings and antenatal 3years ago at least were at Beckenham Beacon as an out of area patient. So you only get to PRUH to deliver Grin Parking at CUH is dreadful and from us public transport a nightmare.
