My scan went well too. Baby sleeping, so got measurements easily and a good picture. 17th June, but saw the doctor as well who thinks it's quite likely my BP problems will recur, so will likely deliver earlier.

Ashley136 · 07/12/2019 08:06

So many scans yesterday! I had mine too! All looked fine midwife had no concerns so feel like I can relax a little now. Finally told my mum last night and plan on telling everyone else in the next week or 2. It will make such a difference not having to lie!
@BabyBird20 I’m also now die 15th June!
Hope everyone’s doing ok xx

MsMiaWallace · 07/12/2019 08:42

Had my scan yesterday.
It went well, baby was wiggling about & hiccuped!
The only thing is they put me behind on dates by a week. I must of ovulated later.
Obviously I got really worried but they said everything looked as it should.
I get to go back for another scan on the 20th of Dec to do screening.

Zoey92 · 07/12/2019 10:07

So nice reading about all your scans 😊 ive got mine on Wednesday, finally feeling some what normal too, nausea has just about completely subsided. It'll all feel abit more real once I've had my scan i think ive known from being about 4wks so feel ive waited forever 😂

AmyMaria2 · 07/12/2019 13:08

@Zoey92 glad to hear you're feeling better! Have you had any private scans or epu scans or will this be your first?x

Blizy · 07/12/2019 16:04

Has anyone began to suffer from pelvic pain?

I had spd/pgp in my last two pregnancies, both began around 18-20 weeks and was in excruciating pain by the end. The pain has made a very unwelcome arrival for me yesterday I'm only 11+2!
I'm worrying that I won't cope with this for the next 6 months as it's only going to get worse!

Zoey92 · 07/12/2019 16:52

@AmyMaria2 I've had 2 scans previous 6+2 & 8+4.
Don't feel like I'm showing much but I'm only 12+0 today. How you feeling? Is this your 1st pregnancy x

BabyBird20 · 07/12/2019 18:51

@Ashley136 Aww due date buddies! I'm loving the idea that is half way through the month half way through the year in 2020! That would be such a good birthday! 😊😊

It's such a huge relief isn't it! I'm still a bit worried that I have to wait a week for the screening results though. Our nuchal measurement was 2.7mm so trying to work out of that puts us in the risk category! I keep finding different things on google!

AmyMaria2 · 07/12/2019 20:40

@Zoey92 I'm showing loads hard to hide now, glad I've told most people! Yeah I had 2 scans before my 12 week one as well, yes first pregnancy, is this your first? Can't wait to hear about your scan good luck! It's crazy seeing how much more baby like they are now compared to 8-9 weeks xx

hjbows88 · 07/12/2019 22:33

I wasn’t given the nuchal measurement at my scan 🤔 is this normal?! Will it be in my notes?

BabyBird20 · 08/12/2019 00:16

@hjbows88 They put it in the scan report but didn't say anything about it other than it was used in combination with the blood tests to give you the genetic screening results in a week or two! I just had to have a google as waiting to hear is a killer!!

APD1981 · 08/12/2019 08:24

@hjbows88 I wasn't told mine either and got all panicked about it when I found out other people knew theirs. However, I found it in my notes that they updated. Mine was 1.1mm and my screening came back as low risk. Such a relief!

APD1981 · 08/12/2019 08:28

@Babybird20

I was told the longer you wait for news, the better. And I believe you often get a phone call rather than a letter within 2-3 days if it's high risk. I had a letter exactly a week after my scan with low risk. I was told 7-10 days if it's low risk and my hospital send the bloods to another hospital so that can add a bit of time, too.

hjbows88 · 08/12/2019 08:38

Ah just went through my notes and found it, also 1.1mm

hjbows88 · 08/12/2019 08:40

@BabyBird20 I read somewhere that below 3 is generally low risk but your age and bloods are key as it is the combo that give the overall risk. It said even in those with a higher than 3mm measurement, 9/10 have no problems. So it’s not something to worry about in and of itself x

So12345 · 08/12/2019 10:53

@hjbows88 I think the nub people would say you’ve got a little girl there! They did for me... I don’t know whether to believe in it or not 😂

So12345 · 08/12/2019 11:00

Is anyone else getting sore in the uterus area? I can’t work out if it’s (very low down!) wind or my uterus expanding. I’m 14 wks + 2 xxx

So12345 · 08/12/2019 11:02

@hjbows88 and @APD1981 1.1mm is really small, mine was 2.1mm 😬 I’m still waiting to hear back which hopefully is a good sign as you say. My MW said anything below 3.5mm is usually good. Have seen some pics of scans where baby does have Down’s Syndrome and the nuchal fluid is really really obvious xx

APD1981 · 08/12/2019 11:15

@So12345 I was relieved when I discovered the measurement on my notes! It made the wait for the letter a bit easier. I also read that babies who end up having confirmed Downs, their neck measurement is at least 6mm+ but a measument of that doesn't necessarily mean it is Downs.

Smiffette · 08/12/2019 12:09

@So12345 I keep having the same thing and not sure if it's wind or just expanding! I'm 14 weeks tomorrow.

I couldn't find the measurement in my notes so waiting for the letter, but did watch her take 2 measurements and pretty sure it said 1. Something. 🤷🏼‍♀️ hoping so anyway! I've had a look online and the images with 3.5+ look really obvious and mine definitely wasn't like that!

So nerve racking waiting 😬

BabyBird20 · 08/12/2019 12:13

@APD1981 @hjbows88 Thanks both, I'm such a worrier!! I know it's on the higher end of the low risk measurement but as I'm a 'geriatric mum' (at 36, pretty mean title i think!) the other factors might increase the risk. Just got to hope I dont hear anything from them anytime soon!! 🤞🤞🤞

So12345 · 08/12/2019 12:23

@BabyBird20 2.7mm is definitely not in the high risk category. As me and @Smiffette said, ones with a high risk look really quite obvious. My friend was a ‘geriatric’ mum, and as you say it’s a really mean term!!

So12345 · 08/12/2019 12:25

Hi @Smiffette thanks for your reply :-) How sore are you? Just feels awful low down to be wind but if it is just... expanding.. then I guess that’s ok? I’m more sore after a busy day. I don’t know if that’s coincidence or what x

Smiffette · 08/12/2019 12:39

@So12345 it's not too bad more a little achey so I'm sure it's just stretching!

@BabyBird20 I asked my MW about being older, I'll be 36 in a few weeks. She said that 40 is the new the 35 so not considered geriatric or old at this point!

APD1981 · 08/12/2019 13:02

@Babybird20

Smiffette is right! 40 is now classed as geriatric. I'm 38 and was fully expecting to be labeled geriatric but my GP and MW told me they have changed the guidelines now. So that's some good news for you!
