I am tentatively starting this thread, as I got my bfp today and don't think there's an April bus yet. Any one want to join and hand hold through these first uncertain weeks?
I'm 35, been ttc dc2 for a little while.

Hi all,

I would like to join too.

Been ttc for year and got a positive result this month. I am 32 and my due date is 23/04 with baby number number 1. I am excited and freaking out. Planning to inform family after doctor confirmed. Having my GP appointment coming Tuesday so may be after that. I think once I accidentally slip it to my mom but changed topic of discussion to cover the slip. 😀

Congratulations to all the new moms!!Thanks

PrincessConsuela12 · 25/08/2019 21:58

@Eshaar Welcome & congratulations Thanks

Similar in age to you (32 in October) and found out a few days ago we are expecting baby number 1 😊 such an exciting / terrifying time!

Puppymum · 26/08/2019 14:33

@Ithinkthatsenough thank you for sharing your experience, there is so much comfort in not feeling like a bad person for not being excited. I doubt ill tell anyone, and same as you, not planning on phoning the midwife for as long as possible. I have work all work but if I make it to Friday I think I'll go to epu for an early scan. It terrifies me but i think I'd rather know asap than live in any false hope. I think I get scans every 2 weeks for this one (again, too scared to ring and ask midwife). Are you getting extra support?

I bet there are plenty of others on this feed who are just as terrified as us, even without the previous experiences. The whole pregnancy thing is not like the movies said it would be!!

BlueberryPoppy123 · 27/08/2019 07:35

@puppymum @ithinkthatsenough
I'm also full of anxiety. My last pregnancy I had a mmc. Turned up to my scan to find baby hadn't developed past 4 weeks. I was still getting symptoms of pregnancy which I found to be so cruel. I'm terrified the same thing is going to happen to me again. I thinking about 5 weeks and in 11 days I have booked a private scan. I just want to know sooner than later. I get what you mean. Don't feel bad for sharing your feeling here x

snipples · 27/08/2019 18:26

Can I join please? I've just turned 34 and am 5weeks today with No.2. My DD is almost 15months old so we will have 2 under 2 for a couple of months if all goes well. EDD is 28 April.

I had horrendous HG last time for the entire pregnancy so just waiting to see if that happens again. I think it kicked off at about 6 weeks and I was hospitalized by 8 weeks. Hoping to avoid a repeat of that!

PrincessConsuela12 · 28/08/2019 09:52

@snipples Congratulations 😊 fingers crossed you're OK this time, I can't imagine how awful you must've felt. Did you have to tell people early because you were so ill?

2ndtimelucky90 · 28/08/2019 18:39

Hi Ladies,

My anxiety has gotten the better of me! 😩After worrying and crying for past few days of history repeating itself (and scaring the bejesus out of DH)i phoned epu this morning and they are going to scan me on friday morning.

Unfortunately DH cant get out of work for it so my mums coming with me. It is the same epu that diagnosed my mc back in march so im so nervous!

I will be 8+1...say prayers please xxx

Puppymum · 28/08/2019 20:22

@2ndtimelucky90 absolutely sending all my best wishes your way. I'm going to ring my epu tomorrow and see if I can get in Friday too. Do you have worrying symptoms or did you just say you were anxious?
I'm actually hoping to see the same nurse again, I've seen her for 3 of my previous miscarriages and when I didn't see her I found it more difficult. Maybe you'll find something comforting in the familiarlity

Please let us know how you get on, and don't cry alone, we are all in the scary stage xx

2ndtimelucky90 · 28/08/2019 20:27

@Puppymum thank you so much. No i dont have any worrying symptoms, i just have a constant worry that all is not ok. I thought it was all ok last time until i went for scan at 11weeks and sac was empty 💔

Yes i will let you all know how i get on and dont worry DH has been here to wipe the tears. I do also like to come on here as makes me realise that my worries are normal.

Hope u can get sorted with your epu. Let me know if u can get appointment also x

uor24 · 28/08/2019 21:05

Hi can I join? I'm pregnant with my first, 8+2. Due date should be around 7th April 😊 feeling very anxious and almost not letting myself get excited about it because I feel so worried that if I do then something will go wrong! Hoping the worry will go away soon so I can start enjoying this exciting time. Congratulations all xx

2ndtimelucky90 · 28/08/2019 21:20

@uor24 im 2 days behind u and in the same situation. Trying not to get excited incase my heart gets broken again.

Could u maybe try and get early scan in epu or would u consider private scan? My nerves are wrecked but glad to know im not the only one.

Hopefully u feel better soon x

Godwilldoit · 28/08/2019 22:17

Hey Ladies,

I am so happy that i'm 5 weeks pregnant (first time mummy) and conceived with one fallopian tube due to a previous ectopic pregnancy and my DH was diagnosed with Severe Oligospermia.
We are extremley grateful and cant wait to meet our little one, congratulations to all you beautiful ladies xxx

BlueberryPoppy123 · 28/08/2019 22:40

I have a scan booked for the 7th privately. I'm so apprehensive I also went to my scan to find an empty sac. I couldn't bring myself to go to the same clinic I used before though. 10 days seems so far away but hoping it comes around quickly. This week the symptoms have really hit fast and furious. Stomach cramps haven't gone away nausea is HUGE even though I have 0 appetite the thought of food makes me gag. My breasts are so tender hoping these are all positive signs buthad these last time so not taking them for granted

snipples · 29/08/2019 11:34

@secondtime that must have been such a horrible experience for you. Really hope you get your reassurance soon. Even if you know statistically that things are likely to be ok, it doesn't take that horrible feeling away.

@PrincessConsuela12 yes last time I had to tell my boss around 8 week as I was off work due to being in hosp. A few others in work then had to be told but on the whole we kept it to ourselves until about 16 weeks. I don't live in the UK so wanted to wait until we saw my family in person before telling them.

I think we will arrange an early scan at around 7/8 weeks and then tell parents after that this time. Still no sickness so far so I'm feeling hopeful!

Puppymum · 29/08/2019 19:00

Does anyone know if I can use a hot water bottle? The cramping and back pain is quite intense today and paracetamol is not cutting it! I can't get an appt till Monday but all my previous pregnancies have been an obvious miscarriage so I've used them anyway but right now I'm not sure either way!

PrincessConsuela12 · 29/08/2019 21:51

@snipples oh wow, 16 weeks is good! I'm really hoping we can keep it between us until 12 weeks, I quite like having such a lovely secret with DH but would also love to talk all things babies with my friends and family 😄

2ndtimelucky90 · 30/08/2019 12:29

@Puppymum how did you get on with epu? Did u get ur appointment?

I went this morning. All is well. Im exactly to my date that i said i was (8+1) and heart beating away. She was able to see heart beat n baby using belly scan but then said she would do internal to get a better look. Saw head, arm and leg buds and amniotic sac is forming. 💕

So relieved, i cried so much with happiness as i had prepared myself for the worst. Hoping this little one hangs on 🤞🏻🙏🏼

@2ndtimelucky90 Oh wow lovely pictures! Xx

2ndtimelucky90 · 30/08/2019 20:11

@PrincessConsuela12 i know i was so shocked at how clear it was 😱

snipples · 01/09/2019 13:04

Lovely scan pics @2ndtimelucky90. So pleased for you.

How is everyone doing? I feel a bit shaky today and slightly concerned this is the start of the nausea. I guess time will tell over the next few days/ week if it is. This is around the time it hit last time.

PrincessConsuela12 · 02/09/2019 10:11

@snipples I feel the same way!! How far along are you? I couldn't fave anything this morning, really hoping it's not the start of sickness 🙁

snipples · 02/09/2019 11:51

I'm six weeks tomorrow so around the time sickness kicks in. Really hoping I avoid it this time. It was horrible last time and lasted the entire pregnancy. I would throw up 10-15 times a day during the worst of it.

Puppymum · 02/09/2019 19:32

So I had my epu appointment today. Same nurse as I've had several times before, I just wanted to hug her as soon as I saw her, a friendly face means a lot.
This is the first time I have ever had a scan showing a living foetus. To say I was overwhelmed is an understatement. Currently measuring 7w2d which is almost a week ahead of my dates but the nurse said that may change again. Everything OK at the moment, saw the heartbeat. A small amount of blood in my uterus but apparently that should be OK.
Not sure whether to feel relieved or terrified that if it fails again it'll hurt even more now that I've seen a heartbeat.
Now just waiting on a consultant appointment to chat about support options and suppose I better book in with the midwife but that is another scare point for me.

2ndtimelucky90 · 02/09/2019 20:07

@Puppymum im so relieved for you. I know what you mean about being more worried now that you have saw heartbeat but fingers crossed its plain sailing🤞🏻 wishing you all the best xxx

snipples · 03/09/2019 16:00

Glad the scan went well @Puppymum. I know it's worrying but the risk of anything going wrong now drops to around 4% once you've seen a heartbeat so hold onto that. Can't imagine how nerve wracking the scans must be for you.

My HG is back. I've been sick about 7 times today already and can't keep water down. Luckily I stockpiled the drugs from last time so I'm going to have those and hope they help.
