I am tentatively starting this thread, as I got my bfp today and don't think there's an April bus yet. Any one want to join and hand hold through these first uncertain weeks?
I'm 35, been ttc dc2 for a little while.

OP posts:
Lauralizzie · 18/08/2019 08:15

Hi I’m Laura, 35 years old, pregnant with my third. I have a 9 year old girl and a 2 year old boy.
I’m due 2nd April (I think) it’s hard to work our due date because I had a chemical pregnancy on my last cycle, so not had a period since. I’m going from the date that I had the most pain and bleeding. Hadn’t seen doctor yet, so that might be the incorrect way to work our due date. If anyone knows how I can work it out, please tell me.

Going to go back and read all your messages now x

sophr72 · 18/08/2019 08:33

Hi @veeboo it is good to have another first baby buddy! I agree the other thread was very busy!

I suppose I'm mainly worried that I have no control over what's going to happen. I think being a teacher on the six weeks holiday isn't helpful because there's so much free time to think.

I had my first appointment with my midwife on Friday, which was exciting but it was a lot to take in. 🙈. We've decided to pay for an early reassurance scan at 8 weeks just to calm my nerves down a little.

How are you feeling?

veeboo · 18/08/2019 08:57

Oh I can imagine that's funny timing and not making the time pass quickly!

My midwife doesn't see you until 8 weeks so I have my appointment when I'm about 8+3 although by their calculation I'll be 9+1 but I know I didnt ovulate until day20. We have also booked a private scan for 8 weeks but that's still 3 weeks away!
I'm feeling okay. Having intermittent bloating, cramps and a little bit of nausea but otherwise I feel normal. Have you got any symptoms? Have you told anybody yet? How is everybody?

sophr72 · 18/08/2019 09:30

@veeboo ours does a pre-booking then a booking. It's bizarre!
3 weeks seems like forever doesn't it? 🙈😂😬
I was hit by horrendous sickness yesterday. I felt awful all day, but feel better today. I'm just exhausted all of the time and like you bloated.

We've told parents, siblings and best friends but that's it. Probably start telling a few more people after the scan. Have you?

How's everyone else getting on?

veeboo · 18/08/2019 12:34

I've told 2 friends but that's it. We might tell family after the 8 week scan then more after the 12. I'm closer with friends than family and many know we've been trying as it's taken 19 months and we were about to go for fertility treatment. I also feel better today but to be honest I find the nausea reassuring!

sophr72 · 18/08/2019 18:10

Wow massive congratulations after such a journey.

Yes I said that about the nausea too. It's horrible when it's here though! 😂😂.

veeboo · 19/08/2019 13:42

Thanks. I am still in disbelief. I did another test today and it says 3+ having said 1-2 10 days ago. Its reassuring I guess but I can't believe it! How is everyone doing?

PrincessConsuela12 · 20/08/2019 11:31

Hi all,

Tentatively jumping on this bus, I got a BFP on a clear blue this morning (had BFP on IC's but heard they were notorious for giving false positive).

I had convinced myself we were out this month so although we were trying I am in shock but so happy!

According to LMP I am 3+5 with a EDD of 30th April. I had an ectopic in December so I have already been booked in for a scan next Tuesday so I am keeping everything crossed that baby is growing in the right place 🤞🏽🤞🏽

RunningWild82 · 20/08/2019 11:46

Hi All

Tentative hello from me. I got my BFP 2 weeks ago and think I'm currently around 5 + 5 accordingly to the ovia app I'm using, due around mid April.

It's #1 for me so trying not to worry myself because of symptoms or sometimes lack of symptom. I just got dates for my booking in appointment and first scan, but thinking of booking an early scan. For those who have had them before when would you recommend?

sophr72 · 20/08/2019 12:29

Congratulations both. It's such an anxious time isn't it?

@RunningWild82 I'm having one in a week and a half at 8 weeks. I feel like for me I just want the bit of reassurance as 12 weeks is so far in advance. My symptoms come and go. It worries me too, but I'm trying to stop using dr google, as it became a habit and was making my anxiety so much worse.

@PrincessConsuela12 sorry to hear about your ectopic - fingers crossed 🤞🏻 for this baby.

@veeboo nope still doesn't feel real to me. It's still all a blur. I can't wait to get back to work so that time goes a little quicker!

PrincessConsuela12 · 20/08/2019 15:59

Thank you @sophr72

@RunningWild82 Congratulations! I have 0 symptoms apart from a little cramping & headaches. I'm anxiously awaiting them & hoping more will come along in a few weeks.

BlueberryPoppy123 · 20/08/2019 16:06

Wondering if you mind me sitting in? I'm due May 1st by my calculations was April 30th but then when I checked my dates again I got May 1st. I got my bfp on Sunday. 9dpo I'm currently 3 weeks 3 days. I'm super lonely on my own in the May 2020 group as most people don't know they're expecting yet.

I'm 30 and me and my fiance have been trying since April. This will be baby no2 for me. I'm so nervous after a previous m/c though.

Not a single symptom yet

PrincessConsuela12 · 20/08/2019 16:11

Congratulations @BlueberryPoppy123

I THINK my EDD is around 30th April/1st May!

I'm not far in front, around 3+5 however I think I ovulated a few days later. I have a scan a week today due to an ectopic in December so understand your anxieties. No symptoms with me yet, a little bit of cramping which is making me nervous but I think that only started happening when I got my BFP today 🤦🏽‍♀️

BlueberryPoppy123 · 20/08/2019 16:18

Thankyou

I ovulated 9th of August. I usually have a 32 day cycle which is what pushes my date into may if I had a shorter cycle I'd have been in May so shall see what the Dr does when I see her. Couldn't get an app until Sept 2nd.

I say no symptoms but I've had the cramping. My period isn't due until Friday but tested early and have had 5bfp :)

I'm tempted to book a scan for earlier as i had a missed m/c last time. Only found out at my scan

Nova324 · 20/08/2019 17:00

Hi All can I hopefully join.
I'm 28 (29 in a few weeks) Got my BFP for #1 on Friday and about 6 tests later started to believe it! still not completely in belief tho! have a doctors appt for Friday! my app differs between date of start of last AF and ov day so could be 5+ or 4+ and right now cant imagine believing all this till I've seen a scan! why do they make you wait so long?!

Marvi · 20/08/2019 21:55

Hello,
I would like to join too please.
I'm 24 and about 7 weeks along with baby number 1.
I think I'm getting more and more nervous as I think about becoming a mum.

Bromeliad · 21/08/2019 14:02

Hi everyone. I'm also tentatively joining up, I'm due around the 25/04 and it's my second. A bit earlier than planned but very welcome if all goes well.

Yvemum · 22/08/2019 18:10

Hi all,

I am due 27/04 with my first child. Would love to hear from other mums.

BlueberryPoppy123 · 22/08/2019 20:35

Anyone else going crazy keeping it to yourself? I feel like everyone knows I'm so paranoid. Also today started freaking out worrying if I'll make it to 12 week scan :/

PrincessConsuela12 · 22/08/2019 22:03

Me @BlueberryPoppy123 I'm terrified I'll accidentally let it slip! DH saw his parents tonight & said he found it really hard.

I've been invited to a BBQ next weekend, friends know that we were trying so I'm going to get some non alcoholic red wine & make some sangria... hopefully they won't suspect Confused

BlueberryPoppy123 · 22/08/2019 22:12

@princessconsuela12 we are telling the in laws tomorrow or Saturday. My family Tuesday when we're altogether. But not telling other family until I know the pregnancy is successful this time. Figured close family if I were to have another m/c I would need their support anyway. No way could I wait 12 weeks to tell anyone.

Sangria is a good idea

PrincessConsuela12 · 22/08/2019 22:41

@BlueberryPoppy123 Wow, that's so exciting!! I completely understand your reasoning behind it & tbh I'm sure we'll end up telling close family sooner but we shall see.

Hope everything goes well over the next few days! Let us know how they reacted x

Puppymum · 25/08/2019 08:56

Hi hope you don't mind me joining.
I found out I am pregnant last week, a little surprised as we aren't currently trying as I'm under the recurrent miscarriage clinic (it's been a rough few years).

I think my due date is about the 24th April so I'm about 5 and half weeks so far.

Tbh I'm terrified and not particularly happy at all. I've lost babies at various stages so I don't see an end to my anxieties any time soon and in fact just feel like I want it over sooner rather than later. That probably makes me sound like a horrible person but i also feel like this is the only place I can be honest.

Sorry if that's a downer on the conversation. I just feel rubbish :-(

PrincessConsuela12 · 25/08/2019 15:11

@Puppymum Congratulations Thanks so sorry to hear about your miscarriages. I don't think there is a rule book for how you should be feeling so please don't apologise and feel free to talk / rant here 💜

Ithinkthatsenough · 25/08/2019 20:24

Hi @Puppymum... ive had losses at 12+3 and 16 weeks so i feel your anxiety... even the 12 week scan holds no real comfort for me as it went wrong both times after good scans. Had healthy dc’s then bam... two horrible mmc’s in a row xx
I’m taking it one day at a time, but i don’t want to phone the midwife again, absolutely dreading a scan, and don’t want to tell a soul until its obvious, particularly dc’s. Im almost 8 weeks and have worked up the courage with dh to phone the midwife on tuesday. Afraid i will start crying and be a mess on the phone and at the appt.
realise i have to get on with it though however scary it will be x
