I'll start eating one a day to see if that helps. Was so so so hoping to avoid them this time.

Really hope it continues to be easy on you Megan !

Fortheloveofscience · 05/06/2019 10:28

Will definitely have to try bananas. Woke up again this morning with leg cramp in a random muscle round my ankle that I couldn’t work out how to stretch. Now got rib cramp sat at my desk and SO uncomfortable.

Though it may be something to do with the 2 hours of hormone-induced hysterical crying last night that meant I didn’t get enough sleep. I was convinced that I was letting baby down by bringing her into our horrible house Hmm. In reality, the house is fine but we’re having work done so everything’s a state. Feel awful though because I was really mean and sweary to DH when he was only trying to help with suggestions. Apologised profusely once I’d calmed down but still not really ok.

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/06/2019 10:33

Another bad night here. Yesterdays day of resting hasnt improved the spd. Wonder if i have just hit a point where it gets worse. Tossed and turned in pain from 3 onwards, then got up and took more painkillers. Probably fell back asleep about 5.

Gotta love the hormones eh fortheloveofscience!

boodles101 · 05/06/2019 10:34

DS more himself this morning. I slept in the spare room last night to try and get some rest, on a bed we got last week and omg the mattress is wonderful. I feel like I have a brand new pelvis today! DH will be delighted if I move me and the pregnancy pillow in there and give him some space back!

Midwife appt this morning, all good and both babies apparently now head down. Found the heartbeats straight away and she was amazed that when I lay down, you can basically see both babies laying in position! Also booked my next scan and GTT test. So far I've had hardly any appts but I've now got them coming out of my ears!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/06/2019 10:36

boodles can i come for a sleepover?

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 05/06/2019 10:56

Morning all - sorry to hear about those with cramp agony and SPD pain. My sciatic pain is a bit better today thankfully - can walk slowly without crying out in pain every step as I was doing yesterday - slept on right hand side to give left some respite and went into our spare room so I could spread out a bit. Hopefully with some physio it’ll keep it at bay. Still struggling to lift DD though and that’s really getting me down.

Went for BP check today and heard baby’s heartbeat - apparently she’s lying sideways at the moment. Whooping cough vaccine tomorrow, physio on Friday and then first growth scan in two weeks. Appointments definitely ramping up!

boodles101 · 05/06/2019 11:12

decaf of course you can!

Stroan · 05/06/2019 11:58

Ugh, just had a call from the midwife to say I need to go on iron tablets.

So that's anti-sickness meds, metformin and insulin for diabetes, pregnancy vitamins and now iron. I'm going to rattle.

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/06/2019 12:08

Oh dear stroan iron tends to make you constipated too so you may also need something for that!

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/06/2019 12:08

Ty boodles Flowers

My lower back is sore as fuck. I just picked dc4 up and nearly fell over Blush

Stroan · 05/06/2019 12:15

@ivegotthedecaf exactly! I'll be swigging lactulose as well. Hate iron tablets. My body is just not good at pregnancy.

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/06/2019 12:17

Mine neither

This definitely needs to be my last time! I need to remember the pain in 6 months +

Moraxella · 05/06/2019 12:24

Crap, forgot about whooping cough vaccine. I’ve had to cancel midwife appts in UK and can’t find anyone who will take on a second trimester person abroad as “too late”. Aaah stressed out here in no-mans land.

Stroan · 05/06/2019 12:26

@ivegotthedecaf me neither. My body, mind and career can't handle another pregnancy. I've told DH to sort out a vasectomy. He thinks I am joking. I am not.

Karigan195 · 05/06/2019 12:29

@Stroan. Try to get through a bottle of juice a day. The juice has vitamin c which aids iron absorption so I always take them with juice. It’s how I’m dealing as I’ve had low iron since the beginning

happydays00 · 05/06/2019 12:38

Yes @Stroan , also echo the juice. Although I think I remember your mean consultant telling you off for drinking orange juice before. I had to take iron post partum with DD and got the liquid iron off amazon, it was much more pleasant than the tablets (can't remember the name though).

@Megan2018 - I hope it stays easy for you too, you just never know what's about to come around the corner with this pregnancy lark!!

@IVEgottheDECAF - can you get a new mattress topper or pregnancy pillow? It feels like there's still too far to go to be crippled with pain already! You poor thing!!!!

I've forgotten what everyone else said (sorry!!) I'm like a walking zombie today. Hugs to whoever is feeling stressed and has an argument with their DH! Hope it all blows over soon Thanks

kyles101 · 05/06/2019 12:57

My banana milkshake cravings have been explained - I've felt like I could have cramp coming on a couple of mornings when I've stretched out! (That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it, it's medicinal, so there!)

Stroan · 05/06/2019 13:00

@karigan195 @happydays00 juice would be a much nicer method than lactulose but sadly it's ruled out by the gestational diabetes....

Megan2018 · 05/06/2019 13:10

I suspect my ridiculously easy tome so far will result in a terrible birth or devil baby. Nature is never that kind!
I genuinely feel better than I have for a decade though!

TwittleBee · 05/06/2019 13:41

ah shit think I worked out Maternity Allowance wrong? I didnt realise it is different to SMP!

For MA we dont get the first 6 weeks paid as 90% of our usual wage?! Urgh this is not good. Really freaking out now about finances, reckon I actually might have to go back within 2 months

Whisky2014 · 05/06/2019 13:50

Yeh that's right twittle.

:(
Luckily my husband's salary should cover most stuff and we will survive with the top up of maternity allowance but it's gona be tight for us. Also hoping for good bonuses in April to tide us over.
Next baby, if I have one, I will have a very good maternity package. It's full wage for 7 weeks then 50%wage for 45 weeks or something. I assume I'd get that cause I just need to be employed by them for 1 year to get it. I guess just because I go off on maternity I am still employed by them for 1yr so should get that. Not that I'm planning to have a 2nd so soon!

Moraxella · 05/06/2019 13:56

Yep @twittle
For 39 weeks-so I have applied for mine now (not working at mo) knowing that 39 weeks ends in March and then I can hunt for a full time job and will have got all 39 weeks of my allowance. Not sure what happens if you do an extra shift in December or something - whether that stops the leave.
Also means you only have to prove you have earnEd over their threshold as they won’t do 90% of your max earnings.
@whisky yep if I do this again (I def don’t want to at the moment) I might actually plan that one! 🤭

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/06/2019 14:02

twittle will you get any help re tax credits etc

stormtrooperjulian · 05/06/2019 14:05

@Megan2018 I’m having an easy time so far too, and I’m totally expecting a devil baby. I was apparently a nightmare as a child so I’m expecting that any baby of mine will be too 😂

TwittleBee · 05/06/2019 14:25

DECAF no as our household income is too high with DH earning £24k - we looked into it when I was first made redundant.

Whisky so bloody annoyed at this, I know I cant expect handouts but thought it would have been the same, like if the government expects employers to fork out that extra money in first 6 weeks then surely government should too? just another reason to feel shit about losing my job whilst pregnant

Moraxella yeah doing any work during the period of MA will stop you getting it which is really annoying as also means we cant do any KIT days - again, how is that fair? Why can those on SMP do KIT days but those on MA cant?

Just feel so bloody frustrated at all this as I honestly had it all worked out that we would be fine when we started TTC - never expected to lose my job. I suppose I should just be glad at least I found a new employer so easily.
