Hellooo, missed you all, not been on much recently and just keeping up on fb. All well here, moving house in 2 weeks and I just need to remember not to overdo it on the packing...

I think I lived in leggings and a large jumper after birth! Not maternity leggings as my bump went pretty quickly, but nice soft ones.

StargazyDrifter · 04/05/2019 20:44

Thanks, ladies (and good to see you back Anna!). Yes it's an ELCS because of some risks, good we can plan it in advance. I'm thrilled that maternity jeans/shorts will still work! Bought some more today at Vertbaudet, they have 30% off too.

TwinkleDay · 04/05/2019 20:48

@Beckanne90 congratulations are you and baby doing ok? That's pretty scary I'm 32 +2 and still feel a way off going to start packing hospital bag over the bank hol.

How much did baby weigh?

Capybaras · 04/05/2019 22:19

Congratulations @Beckanne90 hope you and baby are doing well. Beautiful name for her!

Hope everyone else is ok! Picked up a few baby bits from primark today - no idea if they'll be any good but so cheap it doesn't matter if they have to be chucked! Really need to get a move on sorting the house before baby arrives as house is a tip! When does nesting kick-in?

trukevoli · 04/05/2019 22:20

@annabegins how do I find the FB group?

I went for a 4D scan today was lovely seeing the baby. My son who is 4 said I already know what the baby looks like, all babies look the same!

Also bought our first new outfit for the baby as we dont know what we are having we are going to rely on all our old stuff for the first bit

Beckanne90 · 04/05/2019 23:05

She is doing well as she possibly can be right now for a 29 weeker, obviously it’s early days and obstacles can crop up as I’ve learned with my last 31 weeker. She was 2lb 15 at birth so a good weight, she’s considerably less than that now though however, as they had to stop the tiny bit of feeds she was getting due to her tummy being too immature to tolerate it just yet. I’m absolutely fine, had abit of a rubbish time in labour and birth but recovered really well. Been discharged tonight and it’s absolutely awful no longer being in the same place as my baby: but I also have 5 at home aswell 😥.

Toria73 · 05/05/2019 00:13

Congratulations @Beckanne90. What a lovely name you’ve given her. Hopefully she will get to come home with you soon.

whyohwhypart2 · 05/05/2019 07:25

Ahhh massive congratulations @Beckanne90.....wow! Glad you're doing well and sounds like your little bundle of joy is in good hands. I've been on these threads since the first one and although I've hardly had a chance to check in/post with life getting in the way, I can't believe the first baby is here! Keep us updated if possible, so happy for you

I do love these threads, not sure who mentioned about the hospital bag packing and lucozade but thank you! I will be packing lucozade with a straw, just had a flashback to being in labour 8 years ago and I had forgotten how dry your mouth is with the gas and air! Also can't get enough of fizzy orange these days anyway, never usually one for carbonated drinks so definitely a craving of mine!

@trukevoli I'll be working right up until I drop too, well...pretty much. I'm due on the 20th July and will finish up on the 10th, I hope I last that long, is anyone else at the waddling stage now? I seem to waddle when I'm really tired!

I love these threads as someone also mentioned perineal massage which in all honesty I had never heard of before! Had anyone who has done this before found it useful?

Starting to think about hospital bags now is making it all so real, ah! We've just recently moved house though and still have a LOT on the to do lists including new flooring etc etc - still not quite ready yet!

Hope everyone is having a lovely chilled weekend

cravingmilkshake · 05/05/2019 08:16

@trukevoli send me a pm and I'll point you in the direction of an admin who can add you to the fb group.

Yeh I'm also working up to 39 weeks but my boss is awesome so all good and I know I can work from home if I need to later on.

blueeyedviking · 06/05/2019 09:35

Happy bank holiday Monday everyone.

Congrats @Beckanne90 - wow, terrifying but how exciting. So glad to hear everything is ok considering. Keep us posted.

I've had a super quiet weekend, resting my back as much as possible. Tough day yesterday but feel a bit energised today so pottering around the house. My DH is coming back tonight after being away for almost a week so cant wait to see him!

Is anyone else suffering with constipation? It's really come on now that I only have 9 weeks left. Also stomach feel so much fuller if that makes sense, obvs the baby is bigger but still...

StargazyDrifter · 06/05/2019 11:37

Glad you've had a chance to rest viking.

No constipation (yet?!) for me, also 31 weeks, but I am still consuming vast quantities of dairy which maybe helps.

Definitely get fuller more quickly, which is a pain because I now get the odd hyperemesis-free day when not all food seems revolting but I then get full very quickly.

Do anyone else's hips get sore from sleeping? Whichever side I sleep on is then very painful around the hip joint when I wake up. I have put this down to being heavier. Ugh.

Tmi, I also seem to be back to needing to pee all the time. Even 10 mins after I've been. Probably down to the baby getting bigger? I don't think it's a UTI.

Kentishgal · 06/05/2019 12:18

stargazydrifter we're on on holiday (just in a holiday cottage in Suffolk) but my hips have been so so painful of a night (I have my dream genii with me) - looking fwd to getting back to my own bed! And yes I am constantly going to the loo too - it feels like I'm planning our days out around my loo stops! blueeyedviking yes to the constipation - I'm taking dulcoease which is helping a bit.

blueeyedviking · 06/05/2019 12:59

Ditto to the hip pain and constant loo trips! Got up 5 times the other night, so annoying.

Ah thanks @kentishgal, I'll check that out.
Your hols sound nice!

Trying to get through my baby shopping list. Feel like I just add stuff to it though, so much to get 🙈

Giraffe888 · 06/05/2019 20:24

I’m constantly on the loo too. I go and then 2 mins later I can easily go again!

We’ve had a busy day decorating the nursery and building the wardrobe & cot. We’re so pleased with how it all looks x

TwinkleDay · 06/05/2019 20:43

Megan Markle has had a little boy yay, I hope she got on ok with birthing! 7lbs 3 seems healthy and she is only a skinny little thing.

Have spent the afternoon starting to de tag and sort out washing for the new baby clothes, they defo don't need any more to wear now!

thedust · 06/05/2019 21:14

I've only been back from my holiday for a week and my hip is hurting already. I think driving triggers it, I drove quite a bit this weekend (only short drives of probably 30 minutes each) but it's my right hip and it felt quite achey again by this evening. So glad I'll be finishing work in 5 weeks really and I've got quite a few days off and working from home pencilled in between that I feel less guilty about too as driving appears to be a trigger. On holiday it was great and I even managed a lovely half an hour walk with no pain at all which I haven't really managed since about February.

I've been washing and sorting clothes too this weekend. I've got a lot given to me by my sister, she has 2 girls. And my mum has also bought a lot! Collected the cot this weekend and assembled it too (well, DH did). Getting there!

My sister is getting stressed at my lack of hospital bag progress 😂 I guess I had better start packing that and buying bits for it too. Any tips for first time mum's?

whyohwhypart2 · 06/05/2019 21:26

Yes yes yes to the hip pain, I've had it for a while now, although not every night which I find odd. Quite often I wake just because of the hip pain and cannot get comfy on either side.

Definitely not constipated, quite the opposite actually! But I'm putting that down to my constant cravings for apples and orange juice, of which I'm having copious amounts!

We're busy decorating the whole house as will need to sell up shortly after bambino arrives as we need a bigger house! We have an 8 year old boy who I don't want to put baby in with as the age gap is too big and feel he needs his own space, and our 5 year old girls room is too tiny anyway to fit a cot in so baby will remain in our room until we move, argh! Poor DP doesn't get a day off these days 🙈

I'm sad the long weekend is ending, back to reality tomorrow - hope everyone is well

Jxtina86 · 07/05/2019 12:21

So much to catch up on! Hope everyone had a good long weekend. My parents came to visit which was nice especially as they did some big DIY jobs that DH and I have struggled with before July.

Huge congrats @Beckanne90 - hope you're both doing well!

Just got back from 31 week appt - all fine with baby but they found some blood in my urine so it's gone off for more testing. Anyone else had similar? I haven't noticed any bleeding in general or any UTI symptoms so not sure if it could be anything else?! Also need to up my iron intake as I was just under the optimum amount in my last bloods. Bring on the broccoli...!

trukevoli · 07/05/2019 13:47

@Jxtina86 I had similar issue and told most likely uti. Because mine was visible in my urine when it came back as no uti and recurrent blood they sent me for an ultrasound which I had this morning. Turns out I have a kidney stone. So appointment on Thursday to decide what they are doing about it.

Hoping they can do something before the pain starts as I dread being in that much pain and not getting a baby out of it!

Jxtina86 · 07/05/2019 13:55

@trukevoli eek! Hope all goes well for your appt on Thursday!

TwinkleDay · 07/05/2019 14:07

Anyone going to be looking in perennial massage next week? Or done it before and found it helps? X

BeckyButterfly · 07/05/2019 14:15

Yes to constipation but have been the same throughout my whole pregnancy.

Also yes to needing to wee all the time! I feel like I'm constantly on the loo.

I'm not very well today 😩 I've been feeling under the weather all weekend but I woke up at about 2am this morning unable to breathe. My chest feels really tight and I keep feeling sick. It isn't fun at all! I've been in bed all day. I'm going to ring the docs if it continues because it is a very strange illness which I've never experienced before. It felt like the worst panic attack I've ever experienced.

Jxtina86 · 07/05/2019 15:02

@TwinkleDay I've read about it and I want to do it but I'm struggling with the logistics in terms of reaching down there! Have you got a specific oil to use?

Capybaras · 07/05/2019 15:52

@Jxtina86 @TwinkleDay I'm planning on doing it too, but think I'm going to enlist DH to help as I think logistically it's going to be quite hard to get down there.
