Hello everyone,

I couldn't find a Nov 19 thread so apologies if there's already one.

I got my (somewhat unexpected) BFP today when AF was 5 days late. I wasn't expecting it as I'm still bfing my toddler and my cycles have been all over the place. Safe to say that we're excited and nervous though!

My stats are:

27
Have DS 16mo
Due approx 8th November
4w 4d

Hopefully some of you other mums to be will join me soon!

@Littleseed hello and congratulations- fantastic news!!!
So the last confirmation was that there was one 1cm one but as they’re unsure how long it’s there it could grow or more could arrive Confused.
Given our age, I’m just30 and he’s almost 31, we thought we should ttc in case there were any difficulties.
Had my scan yesterday and I was dated at 5wks 3days where i thought I was 5wks 6days. Sonographer also said I have a heart shaped uterus- asked if I’d heard that previously. I said no and didn’t think anymore of it until I googled it last night Sad.
So very little was seen on the US but the sac was there so I’ve another US booked for next Wednesday.

Littleseed · 13/03/2019 11:00

Hi @Unsureursula Flowers
Thank you hun! xx
Aww, thanks for replying and explaining, I really appreciate it. Halo
Wow, a heart shaped uterus! That sounds special! As hard as it is, (and we all do this), try to steer clear of googling, because more often than not, all sorts of extreme things get pinned onto something that's actually ok.
Will the sonographer send everything across to your GP? If so, you'd be able to get much more information from your GP about that, as the sonographer's don't tend to say much or explain anything.

Oh wow, that's great that they've arranged for you to have another scan in a week. Is it the GP that's arranged all of this? And on the back of finding out about your fibroid? It's just that with my GP appointment today and with all the concerns, I'd really like to have a scan ASAP!

I'm really happy you have a scan next week, having them regularly will definitely put your mind at ease. hugs Flowers

Hi all, may I join?

I'm a little reluctant to as it's very early days and I had a MMC in October so we're excited but very cautious. My stats are:

35 (looking forward to the term geriatric pregnancy!)
1 DD, 18 months old
4th pregnancy (1) loss at 16 weeks, 2) DD, 3) MMC)

I've been advised to take a baby aspirin with my folic acid because of multiple losses so I'll start taking those tomorrow. Anyone else doing this?

Sending love and sticky thoughts to all x

BlodwynBludd · 14/03/2019 06:46

Hello all, please can I tentatively join. I got my bfp yesterday. I'm 34, ds 2 and due around 18th Nov. So excited. We've been ttc for months. What symptons is everyone having?

Lost5stone · 14/03/2019 08:25

Hi all, Joining please. I'm 26, have a 2.5 year old DD already.

So many symptoms here. Nauseous, I can't run because my boobs hurt so much, very bloated.

Anyone thinking about early scans? My sister had a MMC at 12 weeks last year and it's upset me to see her going through that so considering one, but not sure if they are worth it. £99 in my area.

Lost5stone · 14/03/2019 08:25

Oh and I'm 4 weeks 4 days, Due around 18th

BlodwynBludd · 14/03/2019 08:39

Hi Lost. Matching due dates! So exciting. I was thinking about an early scan bit I'm not sure when. I think I read somewhere that the first 8 weeks are most risky so thought about 8 weeks but it seems so long away. I have no symptons which isn't very reassuring! Especially since I was sick the whole 40 weeks with my ds.

Lost5stone · 14/03/2019 08:50

Hi BlodwynBludd exciting! I wouldn't worry about lack of symptoms, every pregnancy is different. My boobs were fine the whole time with DD, this time I cry a bit when DD leans into them! Yeah 8 weeks seems like the time, but I think if I wait 4 weeks I may as well wait another 4 and just have the NHS one. Would like to rule out any multiples though (unlikely but they have been in both our families).

Mintypea5 · 14/03/2019 09:07

@Lost5stone groupon often have lots of deals on scans. Worth a look

@BlodwynBludd I think theybusually suggest 7/8 weeks just because before that it’s hard to get accurate dates because each pregnancy developes slightly differently.
Some may see a heartbeat as early as 5 weeks where others not till 8!

wonderfulbee · 14/03/2019 09:14

Hi everyone,

Can I join?

6+4, second pregnancy :)

I have an 8 month old little girl, I've had slightly sore boobs but nothing major & I tested first day of my expected period. Got my first midwife appointment tomorrow :)

Congratulations to those with BFP :)

PyjamasForever · 14/03/2019 09:15

I'm thinking about an early scan. £39 on groupon here. Wondering the best time to do it. Our local place says from 7 weeks, but if I had one at 6+5 then I would know how everything is before Mother's Day. It's just so tempting!!

Lost5stone · 14/03/2019 09:19

Thanks @Mintypea5 just checked but only deals on 4D scans. Did find one that does it for £79 but an hour drive.

0lapislazuli · 14/03/2019 11:22

The hospital is letting me have an early scan, from 7 weeks, due to multiples losses. My local pre-natal centre allows self-referrals as well. So if you have any spotting or bleeding you can call up and they will scan you.

Mintypea5 · 14/03/2019 11:24

@0lapislazuli my hospital is the same. I get early scans from 7 weeks due to 3+ losses.

MrBobLoblaw · 14/03/2019 11:34

Welcome and congrats to all the new joiners! So exciting to see the thread filling up Smile

Went to the docs today to get the ball rolling on everything so now just have to wait to hear from the hospital for my booking in which might not be until 8-10 weeks apparently. Already feeling nervous about all the needles that are involved with pregnancy! Also the doctor said I should still get the flu jab even though it's coming up to spring.

Littleseed · 14/03/2019 13:00

Hi everyone, and welcome to the club! Flowers

Littleseed · 14/03/2019 13:01

@MrBobLoblaw that's great you've got the ball rolling! It suddenly feels that little more real, doesn't it? I did what you did today, yesterday. Smile

Is the flu jab compulsory?

Also, what are all the needles that come with pregnancy? Shock

RainhamRosie · 14/03/2019 15:03

Needles?! Confused I booked myself in for an early scan today. We are moving house next week so I'm reluctant to see my GP and register for my booking in as we're moving out of area. At least the early scan gives us something to look forward to while I sort out GP registration.

Mintypea5 · 14/03/2019 15:11

I felt like a pin cushion with DS1! I swear every time I saw the midwife I got blood taken

Littleseed · 14/03/2019 15:47

Aww, good job with the house move @RainhamRosie. It's nice that the move is happening now, while you're at the start of pregnancy.
I hope you get to register with a new GP and settle down nicely shortly afterwards. Flowers

Littleseed · 14/03/2019 15:48

Oh no @Mintypea5! Shock
How often do they take bloods then and what are they checking for?

MrBobLoblaw · 14/03/2019 16:20

Haha sorry for inadvertently scaring anyone. But yep... you get your blood taken at least 3 times that I can remember. I got weirdly non-fussed by it towards the end. They basically always want your pee and blood Grin

0lapislazuli · 14/03/2019 17:10

The first blood test is around 10 weeks, then the screening one around 12 weeks. I got loads of additional blood tests for my thyroid as well. It’s not bad at all, the nurses are usually very good.

Littleseed · 14/03/2019 17:22

LOL thanks for the heads-up @MrBobLoblaw. Grin
I'll remember pee and blood. Grin
