The old thread got closed at 1000 posts, I'm not sure why. So I've started this new one. I hope you all find it ok. @Swisbest2 @OneMoreWish @frankiefumbles @Kisses4u @hayleyfx @Maydot @Jessabean

I don't believe any of the things that apparently mean boy or girl. I just knew she was a girl even though around 10 people including midwife said boy. I just knew I was having a girl and I was right. Exciting!! Xx

Pancakes7 · 28/12/2018 11:44

@xJune88 Aw lovely. Maybe I'll be right too. I have a feeling it's a girl. I can't remember is this your first too?

Yeah first baby, third pregnancy xx

kisses4u · 28/12/2018 13:08

Missed my scan this morning and cried my eyes out in front of a whole waiting room! My hormones are to blame and my husband for making us late as it was so important he shaved for the first time all week 😣 I was so disappointed, as I really needed the reassurance all is alright after my lack of movements. The receptionist tried her best to squeeze me in but couldn't. So I'm now having the scan on the 3rd. Hubby felt bad so let us go to the shops and I treated myself to a new baby change bag (despite already having two 😆) highly recommend a back pack style one FYI. I found it so useful to have both hands free when my son started walking at ten months!!! You have to think beyond the newborn when buying stuff as they change and grow so fast!!!

Pancakes7 · 28/12/2018 22:28

@Kisses4u Oh no, that must have been so upsetting. Why did he need to shave? Tbh I would have left without my DH if he was making me late for my scan. I'm glad they've fitted you in soon. Let us know how your scan goes and I hope baby wriggles more again to reassure you.

kisses4u · 29/12/2018 20:35

We weren't completely sure what time the scan was as I'd just put in my diary 'scan' but I thought it was 8:30 and DH thought 9 so he refused to budge until 8:30 where as I suggested we leave the house at 8 just in case it was 8:30... which it was 🙀

Pancakes7 · 29/12/2018 21:09

@Kisses4u Oh dear, well atleast you've got a new scan booked. 5 days till my scan now. So excited!

OP posts:
dreaminofholidays · 30/12/2018 06:09

@kisses4u oh no, I would have been so annoyed with DH but at least they rebooked you for a date that's not too far away.
@pancakes7 not long to go now until yours 😁
@junex88 so exciting to be having a little girl and have your feeling confirmed.

I had my 20 week scan Friday. Everything came back fine but I got quite unlucky with my sonographer. Baby was in an awkward position (seems to be a common theme with my scans) and she would say I'm just checking x and then spend ages tilting her head at the screen and making 'Huh' noises which was just really not reassuring! When i asked if everything was ok she said at the moment it seems to be. So I haven't really had that sense of relief I had hoped for.
I've been told my placenta is low so they need to bring me in for a scan before or on 32 weeks to check it's moved up but doesn't seem to be anything to worry about

xxx

Pancakes7 · 30/12/2018 12:45

@dreaminofholidays Oh dear, she doesn't sound like she is great with people. Maybe it's worth booking a private extra scan for your reassurance. I'm having a rubbish day. So just getting over the cold and now got a migraine since yesterday. Just been sick. So annoyed, this is our few days together. We were at in laws till Friday. I'm just in bed feeling rubbish.

OP posts:
kisses4u · 30/12/2018 12:55

Oh @Pancakes7 hope you feel better after a bit of sleep? It's horrible feeling rubbish at the best of time, let alone when pregnant! Enjoy the time relaxing! When you get to baby number two you don't get any chance to chill 😆
@dreaminofholidays your scan sounded stressful! Will they need to see you again or did they get all the measurements ok?

dreaminofholidays · 31/12/2018 09:14

@pancakes7 are you feeling better?
Thanks @pancakes7 and @kisses4u it wasn't the reassuring experience I was hoping for but everything was on the normal range so I only need to go back for my placenta check. I knew it would be clinical but the lady who did my 12 weeks was so much better.
I'm going to try and hold out rather than have another scan, I've had a couple of extra ones already and I think I'm feeling the baby now so I'm hoping I will feel more confident about things.

Tomorrow we will all be able to say we are having babies this year. eeek!

Pancakes7 · 31/12/2018 10:28

@dreaminofholidays Still feeling awful. Migraine and feeling sick still. Really tired of feeling like this. I'm glad you're feeling movements.

Happy New year everyone! I'm feeling better and back at work. Can't believe I'm over 20 weeks. Scan Friday! Getting so excited. How is everyone?

Happy New Year ladies, hope you all had a fab Christmas!!
I’m almost at 28 weeks and the last trimester!!.... Counting down to maternity leave!! How has that happened!?
How’s everyone feeling?

Jessabean · 03/01/2019 14:51

Happy new year everyone! Hope you all had a lovely festive season.

@Pancakes7 glad you're feeling better now. Exciting that your scans here- what day is it?

@Maydot I know am coming up to 27 weeks with about 2 more months mo of work left and can't quite believe it! On countdown now! 😬
My New Years ended up being "fun"- had gone to a gathering around a friends house and hadn't thought id eaten or drunken (non-alcoholic beers 😞) that much or anything was maybe being a bit tired who knows but started to feeling horrifically bloated/heartburn and then progressively more sick so saw the new year in vomiting on a pavement on my way back home with my OH instead! 🙈 typical even the year I'm not drinking/the only sober one I'm still somehow a mess!! Should have just stayed in and slept I think!
Hope all your guys New Years were a bit better!

Maydot · 03/01/2019 15:30

@Jessabean it’s mad isn’t it!!... How many weeks before your due date are you finishing work? I was hoping to go up to 2 weeks before but think I’ll struggle!! And the heart burn has hit me this week, I’m Stocked up on gaviscon and Rennies!!

Pancakes7 · 03/01/2019 15:58

@Jessabean Wow 27 weeks, exciting. My scan is tomorrow morning at half 8. I'm soooooo excited!!! @Maydot 28 weeks for you too. It's flying by! Before we know it we'll all have little babies! I'm planning to work up till due date or I might take a weeks holiday and finish a week before. I want to save my maternity to be with baby. Plus if I save my holiday they said they'll pay me it in December. @Jessabean poor you being sick on new years. I was sick Sunday with migraine, its horrible. I managed to eat dinner on nye a jacket potato which was my highlight lol. We had an evening in and watched a movie and went to bed early lol.

Maydot · 03/01/2019 19:28

Has anyone thought about what Pram they’re going to get?

Jessabean · 03/01/2019 20:26

@Pancakes7 tomorrow that's so exciting! 🤗 Can't wait to see some cute scan pics! Are you still planning on finding out the sex?

@Maydot I know how you feel with the heartburn - I suffered a bit before pregnancy so am now living off rennies!
Just tying to sort out my maternity leave at the moment. Plan is to use up the rest of my annual leave (work in healthcare and our contracts/leave weirdly run August-August) which is about 2 weeks and then start my matty leave 2 weeks before my due date so means I'll be finishing work at about 36 weeks ish. Can't wait! 😊 Yea I thought about pushing 2 weeks along but thought I might struggle and then realised I would have had to come back two weeks earlier at the end of my matty leave next year for training reasons anyway (will be coming back straight from matty leave into exams 😣). Do you have the option to bring it forward if you find you are struggling?

@Pancakes7 we bought ours over the holidays. Splashed out and went for a bugaboo. Was my one extravagant sod it we've been through shit to get here we deserve this baby purchase! Plus I used to work in a nursery store when I was younger and always loved their pushchairs. Bought it with our wedding gift vouchers we'd had saved though so didn't seem too bad. Also got it in the sales so at least got some money off with the car seat too!

Pancakes7 · 03/01/2019 20:27

@Maydot We bought ours Christmas Eve as John Lewis had £200 off plus my Mum gets 25% discount. We saved £400. It was a pram we had already decided we wanted. Bugaboo cameleon 3+ in navy. I recommend going into shops and trying them all out and asking lots of questions. That's what we did. John Lewis are very knowledgeable. We went to the Oxford st one and Bluewater.

Jessabean · 03/01/2019 20:31

Sorry just realised i tagged @Pancakes7 rather than @Maydot in that last bit about prams 🙈

Jessabean · 03/01/2019 20:33

Also @Pancakes7 snap on the bugaboo! 👌

Pancakes7 · 03/01/2019 20:34

@Jessabean Ooh you got a Bugaboo too. Which one did you go for? Yeah we've not spoken about my maternity yet. Ok guessing will discuss in nect few months. Midwife said I'll get my maternity form to hand into work at my appointment I think. So that might kick start things. Our busiest time of year is leading up to our launch each June so will be busy right before I leave. So hopefully they'll sort cover early so can get them ready.

Pancakes7 · 03/01/2019 20:35

@Jessabean Oh and yes finding out the gender. Can't wait!! DH has a friend staying, they've home out. I'm at home counting the hours! Lol

kisses4u · 03/01/2019 21:29

Woooo hooooo to all the scans and prams! Exciting times! It's all becoming very real now!

Our 20 weeks scan went well today, bubs wiggling around all over the place! Still a 'she' which I was a bit worried about. I was thinking 'what if she's grown a willy?' Haha! Hubby stepped out the room while the sonographer looked between the legs 😆

Pram wise, we had a 3 piece bugaboo for DS but I traided it in for a one piece in the end as got sick of all the faffing about putting it together every time. Highly recommend the baby jogger city mini, Lasts up to 4 years old (although my 2.5 year old never goes in it anymore) so they really grow up fast 😢 but in all honesty the less I have to assemble, the better. Bugs are good tho.
