Due March 2008 - is it real?

Oh my. Have name changed as I feel like a wee bit of a muppet for coming here while a bit uncertain. Will change back when I know one way or t'other for sure.

Was lurking over a cafe buffet this morning with DS, utterly unable to decide what I wanted to have for lunch. Told myself I'd have the chips but that they would probably taste metallic. Remembered how last night all the food in the house was unappealing, except two corn on the cob (?!).

Penny then dropped, though our TTC last month consisted I thought of getting it on magnificently before and after fertile time. Whipped into Boots for a 1st response after figuring I am 3 days pre-AF. Just got a faint but-its-there positive. BBC website says due date is 1st March.

Anyone else yet? I will not tell dp until the line is brighter for point and show effect, so will probably re-test Friday am. I will be keeping my news, if this really is news, virtual apart from twlling him for as long as possible, as I'm older, my thyroid is knackered and my miscarriage and anomaly risks are high.

Other than that, I am having a little smile:

at rain x-post derah!

sweetkitty · 12/07/2007 08:58

Totally agree with the rain it is so depressing, it's DD1's 3rd birthday next Friday and I've bought her a bouncy castle and we are having some of her little friends over for a party in the garden. Really hope it's not raining or they will all be inside wrecking the house. Feel sorry for them though they keep asking to go out into the garden. Well better get on with the housework then I'm off to a friends for lunch.

timmyinatizzy · 12/07/2007 09:15

I hate rain. We've got that fine rain this morning. You know the sort that makes your hair go frizzy. I got my midwife appointment changed to Friday 17th August, so I can do both now. Apparently Bromley don't do dating scans, so I'll have to wait until my nuchal to see junior. Can any of you experienced mummy's tell me if you get to hear the heartbeat at the midwife appointment?

w4b - suppose I'm lucky so far, no morning sickness. I've felt a little nauseous but nothing everyday. And yes I have a lovely big spot that has appeared on chin too. I've also got rosy cheeks bit like this .

mb - enjoy harry potter. fingers crossed you don't fall aslezzzzzzzzzzz.

derah - I've putting off going on my bike with the dsd's. They've been pestering me about going on a bike ride. Is it ok to ride at the moment? I think dp is scared of me falling off (not that I ever have, well not since the age of about 8!!!)

potionsmakemummyclever · 12/07/2007 09:38

Morning ladies (yes, WMMC has been Potterised), hope everyone is getting along ok. Still got the nausea - am now regretting the porridge I just had for brekkie.
W4B - I used sea bands last time, but don't think they did very much. I found eating little and often helped more - even had a box of crackers at the side of my bed.
Went to see GP yesterday, which was a waste of time as he did absolutely nothing (not even a BP check or hospital referral) and said I needed to see a M/W. No M/W appointments until next month now .
And it's raining again!

potionsmakemummyclever · 12/07/2007 09:40

lol at timmy's cheeks

derah · 12/07/2007 10:59

Timmy - I rode through most of my last pg, even did a bikeathon at 6 months. Just try not to fall off!! It's not really dangerous at all.

piekin · 12/07/2007 13:50

Hi, just popping in to say ello! Am due in march too. Looking at you gals chats make me feel nicely joined coz my pg still a secret!

3madboys · 12/07/2007 14:01

swertkitty, ds3 is 2 and a half, i bfed ds1 till he was 18mths, then ds2 until he was3 and a half, not planned but he bfed throughout my preg with ds3 and carried on for a year after ds3 was born, so i tandem fed.

not sure what i will do this time, i dont want to force wean ds3, he is still in our bed and feeds during the night, normally only once or twice, but he has a cough at the mo so is feeing more

hopefully at the end of summer i will stop the night feeds and get him in his own bed

6 and a bit wks now still pukey and tired, but okay otherwise

derah · 12/07/2007 14:41

Hi Piekin, glad you found us! Welcome to the group.

ow82 · 12/07/2007 14:56

kitty he is - it's gone far too quickly! lol. think you were on the jan thread when I was on the march one back in 2006 (even thou he arrived on 23rd feb! lol)

w4b - have you tried ginger ale/chedders? I swear they worked with DS sipping it all morning and nibbaling all the way thru - so far i've realised that unless i'm eating i'm feeling sicky - not a good start. lol. 2nd trimester? I'm hoping to have the scan again (had it with DS thinking I was 11 weeks and they put me at 13 - was a brilliant way to make the time flow! lol) - bet this time it's the other way around thou.

piekin - hiya and welcome to the group. hope things work out for you ahve seen your other thread.

sorry to hear all of you girls having raining, I like the rain tbh, a nice stew cooking on the stove, DS/I cuddled up or doing messy play - aka painting - well him getting caked in paint! lol - talking of which must get him some of the bath paints form tescos.

3mb - well done you for BF'ing still - I stopped at 9 months with DS - wanted to go out witht eh girls and have a proper lady bra was v nice tbh. did you find feeding subsequent DB's after your first was easier? (am hoping to BF again as with DS I had more milk flowing than blooming cow n gate! lol.)

3madboys · 12/07/2007 15:52

bfeeding has def got easier with each one tho i had thrush with ds2 which was a nightmare.

my milk suppply is better adjusted too, i always have gallons, could express eleven ounces of one breast when ds1 was little and tho i still have plenty of milk with each one, they havent been so leaky etc.

i will def be bfeeding this one, purely cos i am too lazy to do bottles

and when i go out in the evening i wear a proper bra not a bfeeding one

sweetkitty · 12/07/2007 15:54

piekin - hi and glad you found the thread, do you know when you are due yet?

3mb - well done on the BFing front. I BF DD1 for about 12 1/2 months until she self weaned when I was pregnant with DD2, I fed DD2 for 14 months, she was down to 2 feeds a day and was taking her sisters morning/bedtime cup of milk so I just stopped offering her a boob and she didn't seem to mind I was so upset though. She was kicked out our bed at 12 months as none of us were getting any sleep, she was head butting me and kicking DP so it was time for her to go into her own bed. She was feeding about 5 times in the night at that point though. I refused milk at night but plenty of cuddles from DP we had one rough night and that was it she has been fine ever since.

ow82 - yes I was on the Jan 06 thread, I think I was the last one to give birth DD1 was 15 days early so I smuggly thought I would be early again but oh no 12 days late. It's horrid when everyone else has had their baby and you're still on the thread.

timmy - I am trying to remember when the MWs can hear a heartbeat I think it may be 16-18 weeks, don't think they can hear it at 12 weeks.

I got my waste of time GP appointment next week to say I'm pregnant get a congratulations, we'll tell the MWs bye then!

sweetkitty · 12/07/2007 15:57

X-posts 3mb's I used to do that too nice bras for going out, I would be struggling to fill them now though my boobs have all but disappeared after feeding DD2 (well that and I've lost a bit of weight) I'm still waiting on my visit from the boob fairy.

ConnorTraceptive · 12/07/2007 15:57

hi all

well the nap hasn't helped still feel pants although not being sick so i guess that's a bonus

Don't have to have pointless Dr's appointment fortunately just have to wait a week before i can book to see midwife.

anyway off to sulk about feeling so rubbish

timmyinatizzy · 12/07/2007 16:04

Can't believe how many of you breastfeed. I'm hoping to to. Think I'd be too lazy to do the bottles too 3mb.

sweetkitty - no visit from the boob fairy here yet either

ow82 - lol about more milk than cow n gate.

Only 25 minutes more at work then off home to pick up dsd's from childminder. Hope they've done lots at school today. Didn't get to sleep until nearly 10 last night. Don't know how they do it at their age!!!

shanks313 · 12/07/2007 16:08

Hi,

Just popped in to say hi and congrats,Im from the March 2007 thread.

Time really has flown by,its a year ago today I found out DD was on the way

sweetkitty · 12/07/2007 16:10

shanks thank you I know it's a old wives saying but it really does go so fast.

derah · 12/07/2007 16:15

Timmy, breast is so much easier than bottles! Food ready to go, any time, no sterilising or preparation or remebering to take it out with you!! Definitely give it a go!!

I bf'd dd until 5 months, when I went back to work. I just had such trouble with leaky boobs that I couldn't stand it any more. Also, I was training for the London marathon and needed to run before dd got up, but couldn't cos before she fed my boobs were massive and full so running was out of the question!! I hope to bf longer this time around cos a) I won't be working and b) I won't be running marathons!! I've heard the leaking gets under control from about 6 months so I hope that's true. Dd slept through from an early age so by morning my boobs had soaked the bed!!!

sweetkitty · 12/07/2007 16:21

I agree with the BFing derah, can be hard at first but worth it. I think my boobs stopped leaking at about 4-5 months. After about the first month I stopped waking up in puddles of milk.

sweetkitty · 12/07/2007 16:22

Just looked at my stomach and I look about 4 months gone I'm not even 6 weeks yet

skidoodle · 12/07/2007 16:31

Hi everyone

welcome piekin!

omg I am so unbelievably tired today. I can't even remember the last time I felt so worn out. Some days I'm just a bit tired and fall asleep early on the sofa, but today and on Tuesday I was just so done in all I wanted to do was nap.

Is the tiredness a first trimester thing? not sure how I'll cope otherwise. Don't have any LOs like some of you, so have nothing particularly tiring to deal with.

Glad to hear it's OK to cycle. I cycle to work every day. My Dr. pointed said I should be fine and just to be careful not to fall off. But, you know, I kind of aim to do that anyway

ow82 · 12/07/2007 18:22

skid - yep pretty much tiredness for me was really bad wiht DS for the first tri, bloomed in the 2nd tri, and was arsey/nesting in the 3rd so pretty much text book tbh. v straight forward, so far i've had a few days of being v v tired, but since DS has been sleeping later (7am) i've been a lot better.

can't wait to see the dr/book in with m/w & heart everything's ok as I still only have slight symptoms.

shanks - you'd best beleive it it was only 2 years ago I was expecting DS typing on the march 06 thread and congratualting all you new girls on the march 07 thread! lol. they change so much in the first year it's unbelieveable.

kitty - my apt is on tues with the dr - hoping she'll still be able to do some form of bloods to check my thyroid is ok. don't know why you have to book with the dr first - I never saw mine last time was always the m/w.

der - tbh I stopped leaking i'd say around 5 months ish - but mainly as I had started mix feeding DS - had plaaned to stop at 6 months but then we moved etc, but anyhow tbh I do now still have the v occasional leak but it's more like a drop so nothing major. dr seems to think it's to do with the let down you have as to the leaking part - if it's true or not I don't know tbh - but I do have a good strong let down.

timmy - agree give it a go - I fed DS witht eh idea in mind if I could I could if I couldn't I couldn't, but as long as I tried my best that was good enough for me - little suckler didn't want to come off once he'd found where the food came from! lol. this time i'm hoping to ahve more confidence to BF out in public. a friend of mine BF's in public/the coffee morning and i'm really hoping to be able to do it as I have always been self concious where my huge norks are concerend! lol.

anyhow is anyone else having abck pains yet? - i'm getting dull aches.

piekin · 12/07/2007 18:36

Glad to hear someone else is feeling tired! Also any mental task seems very fatiguing!

derah · 12/07/2007 18:36

Skidoodle, if you read the preggie books they have you believe that you'll wake up the first morning of your second trimester and feel full of bounce and energy with all tiredness gone! Not entirely true but the bone-sapping exhaustion does just tend to be a first trimester thing. It's a bit unfair that the 3 months where you feel the worst is the time when you can't tell anyone and get some sympathy/rest!!

Sweetkitty - I've had a serious tummy bulge too. Going to have to buy new trousers next week cos mine are all suddenly far too tight around the waist!

piekin · 12/07/2007 18:37

Oh! Just wanted to ask, what is the general feeling about perfume etc? I put some on today and then suddenly thought I might be harming the baby! Anyone got any idea if it is dangerous?
