Due March 2008 - is it real?

Oh my. Have name changed as I feel like a wee bit of a muppet for coming here while a bit uncertain. Will change back when I know one way or t'other for sure.

Was lurking over a cafe buffet this morning with DS, utterly unable to decide what I wanted to have for lunch. Told myself I'd have the chips but that they would probably taste metallic. Remembered how last night all the food in the house was unappealing, except two corn on the cob (?!).

Penny then dropped, though our TTC last month consisted I thought of getting it on magnificently before and after fertile time. Whipped into Boots for a 1st response after figuring I am 3 days pre-AF. Just got a faint but-its-there positive. BBC website says due date is 1st March.

Anyone else yet? I will not tell dp until the line is brighter for point and show effect, so will probably re-test Friday am. I will be keeping my news, if this really is news, virtual apart from twlling him for as long as possible, as I'm older, my thyroid is knackered and my miscarriage and anomaly risks are high.

Other than that, I am having a little smile:

thanks for the welcome kitty, stats - what do you want to know?

ow82, 1 DS due?? age 25, lives south coast.

derah · 06/07/2007 08:24

Sweetkitty - I'm tired and have imsomnia! I can nap on the sofa like nobody's business but have been sleeping really badly at night. Yawn!! Don't blame you for getting a sex scan, I'd hate to not know what was on the way. I think it really helps with bonding.

Welcome Ow82! Congrats on the multiple bfp's!! Hey, have any of us tested just the once? Less than 5 times? Heh heh, testaholics unite!!

Right gotta run, DH and I are braving Ikea today....

timmyinatizzy · 06/07/2007 08:43

Morning.

Congrats ow82. 10 tests, wow . I must admit that I only tested once. It was all dp needed to be convinced.

I'll trawl down the posts, find the list and add your stats. Feel free to update it when you have an edd. Connor not sure you made it on the list so if you're not there I'll add you too.

Morning fellow pregnant ladies had quite a good sleep last night, feel a bit sicky this morning it's not too bad I think if I eat it's gets a bit better. Can't remember getting it this quick with the DDs. Hips and back are a bit twingy too. Not even 5 weeks and falling apart already.

Timmy - thanks for the stats update

Off to soft play with a friend today who has 3 with about 3 years between them so she is my guru now! Wish this rain would go away though.

07mumstheword · 06/07/2007 12:54

Hi thought I'd join you. After doing 7 (yes 7!! ) tests the final being a very clear digital that confirmed i am pregnant. Guess I'm due mid March. I already have dd 2 yrs. Very excited but already worrying about potential problems like miscarriage, i'm trying to keep my ever over active brain rational! Does anyone else feel they over worry? I feel a bit queasy today so things are really starting to feel real!

marjoram · 06/07/2007 15:25

Hello 07, yes I know what you mean about worrying. I can't help checking for blood every time I go to the loo. the 12 week scan will put my mind at rest but it's so long to wait. For me it'll be another 2 months until then. It might be better for Sesame Seed for me to know now but it's not better for me! If you know what I mean, it's so long to wait! I'm just trying to think positive thoughts.

3madboys · 06/07/2007 15:33

afternoon all, cant believe how long the list is getting!!

i am feeling queasy and bleurgh! i fell asleep when i put the boys to bed at 7:30 last night and didnt hear dp when he got up with the boys this morning! hadnt realised just how tired i am!

my house is chaos, the boiler is in and working, but the mess!!! omg its a nighmare!!

plus they tried to deliver the new cooker only to discover that the electric box it was going to be connected to isnt wired up!! so now i have no cooker till next tues have phoned round friends who are making biscuits etc for tomorrows part and i am buying some plain sponges to make into an r2d2 cake for ds2!!! wish me luck.

i also have pass the parcel to wrap up, a pinata to sort out, pin the light saber on darth vader to make, as well as making origami party bags and turning 15 lengths of foam pipe insulation into lightsabers!! all this evening whilst dp goes to the cinema!! iam sooo not impressed with him, and i need to tidy the house as well!! what a barrel of laughs!! not

marjoram · 06/07/2007 15:39

Oh dear, that sounds an awful lot of work. Can you reward yourself after each task with a lovely cup of decaff tea? It'll all be worth it tomorrow tho. Why is your DP going to the cinema tonight? He is going to owe you bigtime for that.....

marjoram · 06/07/2007 15:40

sorry, I just reread your post....origami party bags????? Why?

3madboys · 06/07/2007 15:44

i am making little origami party bags that i can decorate with star sitckers etc to go with the star wars theme! i have made them before and decorated with fish stickers for a sea world party i did for ds1, i must be mad!!

oh yes he is going to owe me big time, he left for work aafter lunch, i said i will see you at ten, when he finishes and as he went out the door, he replied "oh no i wont be back till after 1 as i am going to the cinema with a mate after work" well thanks for telling me sooner!

i owuldnt mind just the party stuff, but the house is a bomb site cos we had the new boiler put in yesterday all 3 kids are driving me mad!! and i have no way of cooking any dinner for us!

marjoram · 06/07/2007 15:46

I really feel for you
Could the boys help tidy perhaps? Each have an age appropriate task and then have take out pizza for tea? This is a State of Emergency after all.

3madboys · 06/07/2007 15:51

take out pizza it will be i think!

oh god ds2 has just come through covered in stickers!! they are all over the sofa and the carpet too!! bangs head repeatedly on the desk!

i had better get off my arse and start tidying, ds1 will help

the other two...........

sweetkitty · 06/07/2007 15:58

welcome to the thread 07mumstheword, I worry too every day I am glad I'm not the only one who checks their pants for blood too.

3madboys - Star Wars theme sounds great but hope you get to put your feet up as well.

Soft play was hectic as was lunch and then a go on the fairground rides. Costs a bomb as well. Feeling a but lightheaded now so off for some chocolate then to quickly tody around the lounge as 5 under 5 is mess central.

derah · 06/07/2007 18:57

Sounds like we've all had mad days! But I think 3Madboys wins! Organising a party with new boiler, no cooked and DP AWOL!! You're a brave woman!

Welcome 07mumstheword. Congrats on your multiple BFP's too!

DH and I left DD at nursery this morning and went to Ikea. The shopping itself wasn't too bad (but of course we got loads of stuff we didn't really need - only went in to buy a wardrobe and came out with a full trolley besides!) But on reflection, we were mad to go on Friday. We left at about 3:30 and the traffic was a nightmare door to door. Took us over 2 hours to get back to the nursery, bang on 5:30 (which is the latest we can collect DD). I usually pick her up at 4:30, and all the other children had gone so she wasn't happy, poor thing. Oh well, home now! I had a couple of wobbly moments in Ikea and had to have a sit down, but am otherwise feeling good. Definitely feeling a little bulky around the middle though.

ow82 · 06/07/2007 19:48

erm I also do the bloody checking thing - even after so many pos tests - unfortuantly i've had 2 m/c's prior to DS so it's always in the back of my mind. coupled with a distinct lack of symptoms (not even slightly hormonal) i'm rather worried. have to keep remembering that slight sickness and no blood is a good sign, and with DS I had a very easy time of it as well.

hiya 07 mum and welcome. i'm a newbie as well - have done loads of tests as well - i'm sure they should give you your money back when you get a positive result! lol.

3 mad boys - sounds like you've had a hetic day - want a share of my choccy i'm aboutt o sit and consume? it's nice! lol.

think we've been the only ones being lazy today! lol. DS charmed all of mums work friends (we 'did lunch' with the girls she works with) he pinched a bit from everyone's plate - cheeky monkey! and then played with the other children in mums class for a short time. then back home for him to ahve a nap and it was a KFC for tea - am getting in all the junk food I can this time as last time the smell of it made me feel sick! lol.

anyhow also looking into double buggys and what's the best idea - I do like sooo many of them! lol. anyhow best settle DS off and then watch LOTR.

ow82 · 06/07/2007 19:49

sorry should have been blood checking thing.

timmyinatizzy · 06/07/2007 23:07

I confess, I'm on knicker watch too . I know that it is still very early and worry what if....

Anyway I got a date for my nuchal scan today. Its on the 20 August, which may or may not be after my first midwife appointment. Its just on the upper end of being able to be done, but its good timing as we are taking dsd's to Minehead at the beginning of August. Will probably book for next year too while we're there, then junior can have its first holiday at 5 months old .

timmyinatizzy · 06/07/2007 23:09

Ooop forgot to say have a huge glass of virtual wine 3MB. It sounds like you deserve it.

3madboys · 07/07/2007 01:09

i have my nuchal scan on the 21st aug!!

i have made 15 light sabers and have nealry finshed making my origami party bags, next time i will buy plastic tat ones!!

tomorrow i have to make the cake and go food shopping, the party isnt till 2pm tho so i have time in the morning

thanks fo rmy virtual wine, but next time make it a bicardi and coke!

07mumstheword · 07/07/2007 06:53

I can't sleep so up already waiting for dd to wake!

3madboys I'm in awe of you how do you cope and another one on the way! Looks like you were up very late last night getting your party bags sorted, hope you managed to get some rest for the big day!

Thanks to everyone for the welcome and for all those who confess their knicker checking habits! It makes me feel more "normal". positive thinking and patients is something I'll have to practice. Doctors appt not til Thursday and even then it'll be weeks for scan!

marjoram · 07/07/2007 09:15

Morning all, Just taken DD to shop for fresh croissants and I'm sitting reading the paper eating a chocolate croissant and drinking a proper if slightly weak coffee. Life would be perfect if it wasn't for the several hours housework I have ahead of me OK, here we go, off to get the rubber gloves on.....

LisaJH · 07/07/2007 09:17

Hello, I'm a newbie - due March 8th . Is there room for me please?

marjoram · 07/07/2007 09:21

Hello LisaJH,

You're due the day before me! How are you feeling? Welcome!

Hedgeone · 07/07/2007 09:22
