Today I am declaring war on my living room.

Wish me luck ladies, as there were be only one survivor

Agnes

JennsterFrogLover · 21/06/2007 09:44

Good luck Agnes. Today I am declaring war on all the half finished jobs.

Finding paper liners for nappies
Folding dd's nappies and putting away
tidy bookcase and recycle all junk
file away bills, statements etc
assemble bathroom furniture
tidy to make it possible for cleaner to clean properly!

Myfairone · 21/06/2007 10:10

JAM - Gold teddy bears?
Still wouldn't pay that money for the cake.

Agnes - Good luck! Don't over do it though.

Jennster - That sounds like a plan!

Just saw the doctor who has advised me to continue with the diaralyte (urghghghghgh) as the baby is getting everything it needs from it (which is all that counts)...I have to try and introduce food slowly..wish me luck!

For those finishing work on Friday you only have one more sleeps to go!

cornishpixie · 21/06/2007 10:17

Hi everyone, am new on here... I'm due on 10 July with 1st child and getting more terrified day by day!

In MW session last week, she put 3/5th pal on my notes... do you think that means it's coming soon? I don't think I can face sex to get it going!!! My poor DH has forgotton what it is anyway.. Think I prefer the pineapple and raspberry leaf idea!

abgirl · 21/06/2007 11:23

hi cornishpixie and welcome to the due in july board - don't think being engaged means that the baby will arrive soon. My LO's head has been well down for ages and no signs of labour apparent yet!!

MelissaM · 21/06/2007 11:46

Kittenbaby, yes I am due on 9th July (or 7th by mw's dates). I'm not sure if I've felt any twinges yet. I have had backache on and off for a few days and had a show last week, but it can still take weeks from then. LO's head has been engaged since 34 wks (& down since 31).

Jam- £127 for a cake??!!! What was wrong with a £10 from Asda/M&S? DH would kill me if I spent that much on a cake. We couldn't even justify that amount on our wedding cake! Why is it that the people who can least afford to be extravagant are the ones that are?! (It's probably why they can't afford to be I guess).

Swimming - ah sounds like a great idea. I might dig out my swimming togs and go for a gentle splash in the morning.

Myfairone, glad you are managing to keep something down, and sorry gp said to keep going with the diaralyte.

I am really hoping our architect comes back to say that the 2nd b'room won't support the weight of the birth pool and water so that dh puts the spare bed back. I even tried sleeping in the pool (empty) last night as I am fed up with the sofa! In the end dh just had to put up with my fidgeting, and I his snoring! Oh and the numerous trips to the loo. Has anyone elses dh/dp been struck with having to go to the loo loads in the night too, or is it just mine that is sympathetically bloated and weak bladdered?

Hello and welcome Cornishpixie.

Anges & Jennster - don't over do it! I seem to have loads to do/get today too, but can't go anywhere until sainsbury's turns up with my food (only 45 mins late so far)!! I'm hungry too! Anyone got any cake?

twoplusone · 21/06/2007 11:55

OMG £127 for a bday cake.. DS bday cake was a £1 victoria sponge from the Iceland range.. (the NAafi here sells iceland stuff it was about 1euro 49..) The cake was delicious.. I thik if we had had people round would have just bought 2..

Welcome cornishpixie..

I have just scrubbed the kitchen from top to bottom.. and oding loads of washing.. feeli like my machine is never off.. have another couple of hours of ironing to do tonight!!!

Sorry if this is tmi but my fanny (hate that word but nicer than others!! ) feels funny it feels like I have a tampax in wrong!!!! as I am walking about... anybody else jhave this sort of sensation....

Twoplusone - Victoria sponge sounds good to me! And if DS liked it, it's all that matters. .
I too have been getting funny feelings/twinges kind of like electric shocks(?!). I think it is something to do with the baby trying to move its head once it's engaged.

JennsterFrogLover · 21/06/2007 15:08

Melissa, just made a sugar free (actually there's honey in it) banana loaf. Any one fancy a slice? It's still warm and delicious with butter.

Was planning on going swimming tomorrow too, but if trying to get to a school free session is difficult, and the showers aren't working there either at the moment. Will make an extra effort to get to Yoga this evening.

I've half packed dd's bag in case she has to stay away for the night when having my home birth. My bag remains scattered throughout the house.

bilblio · 21/06/2007 15:34

Warm cake sounds lovely Jennster, pity I hate bananas. I might have to make some scones later, I've been promising blokey for days.

I had my scan at the hospital today, and my placenta has moved so I'm all set for a natural birth with Gas & Air and a big bouncy ball I'm so relieved! LO is smack bang in the middle of average for all the growth things and everything is looking good. The doctors had the usual 10 minute discussion about my latex allergy and whether they needed to worry or not, but thankfully this time I had my test results so they copied them and it's on file that everything has to be latex free.

I only managed to get about 2 hours sleep last night though so I'm shattered now, even though I went straight back to bed when I got home.

Cornishpixie - Hello, I'm 3/5 engaged too but they're not talking about it arriving any earlier. I'm not due till the 19th either.

Jennster & Agnes - don't over do it. The only thing I plan on declaring war on today is my bed, by lying in it for a very long time.

Welcome Cornishpixie!

JAM - I hope that your finances allow you to do whatever you wish to do re the house. I know its tough times but at least you are seeing the positive side of losing your 'lying' buyer now!

Who mentioned warm cake????!

Twoplusone - I said those very words to my Mum today like I felt a tampax coming out. Must be something to do with the position of the baby.

Melissa - My DH was getting like that too and I am sure he was just trying to outdo me in the pee stakes. Things are much better since I moved into the spare room..At least the dog doesn't complain every time I move! Cant imagine your empty birthing pool was comfy but hope your architect gives you the news you want!

Well I am so pleased with myself...have eaten 2 bowls of cereal today and wait for it......I managed a roll with honey on it too!!! So pleased! I may even try an egg tonight!

Big hugs to all and their bumps.

twoplusone · 21/06/2007 17:03

Myfairone- glad you are feeling better....Hopefully you will be able to keep the egg down too. Glad I am not the only oe with that sensation.

Think I am going to have a venture up to the netball tonight and see what is going on see if we have anymore new recruits....

Just found out today that DH is going away in september for a week.. (first week) so he will miss DS first day at pre school.. He did say though that he thinks his course for October looks like it will be cancelled.. Not holding my breath though..

pulapula · 21/06/2007 17:04

Bilblio -

If your DH wants to treat you to a single room with shower, TV etc, then I would take him up on it, but try and get him to do it not as your birthday present, but as a nice thing for him to do!

I spent 4 nights on a 4-bed ward and didn't get much sleep at all (once one baby starts crying, they all do!). And the woman next to me was a big snorer too. And there were only 2 bath/shower/WC rooms for a number of wards, so often found myself waiting to go.

I discharged myself even though my BP was high and they wanted to keep me in, as I couldn't face another night there, and surprise surprise, it came down as soon as I was home.

Twoplusone -

I must say I have had that strange feeling too in my ladybits (is that a nicer word?), as though something is pushing out and they feel a bit swollen. I assume its just baby's head pushing things down and its passed again (had it a couple of times).

Myfairone · 21/06/2007 18:23

Big night tonight for me having an egg!

Sorry to hear that DH has to go away Twoplusone....as I have said many times, you are a very strong lady and it takes a certain type of person to take something like that in their stride. I admire you because even though its not his fault I would have to hate on him for a few days!

Pulapula - Not looking forward to a 4 bed ward then! I still have no idea what the set up is at my hospital and I plan on keeping it that way! Ignorance is bliss for me in this instance..

Okay ladies, wish me luck with my boiled egg...here goes!!!!!

twoplusone, i think i know what you mean with the pressure. It's like a varicose vein like swelling. I've had it since week 20 (only on the left side) and it's worse at the end of the day and going to the toilet. I'm told it will disappear after the birth.

Welcome kittenbaby. I'm 35+4 (due 22nd July) but measuring 39cm!! Just had a scan to check size and been told the placenta is slightly blocking lo's exit route! Hoping it will move - thanks for your wise words bilblio and mellisaM - I have dd (4) and Ds (3). Also married to the forces but posted to Scotland at the mo which is fab as near the family.

weddingcake · 21/06/2007 22:28

Hi Everyone - I promise I will share my ridiculous birth story with you but have just posted on post natal thread and have now run out of time.

Can't wait to see who'll be next!

agnesnitt · 22/06/2007 00:40
