First pregnancy and first appointment

Hello.

I am currently around 8 weeks pregnant (could be more) and had my first appointment with a midwife few days ago. We just had a chat, she took my wee sample and 3 tubes of blood. Today I received a phone call to go to a clinic for a scan, a screening, more blood test and to see a consultant.
I don’t know why but I’m feeling very nervous and anxious, as it all happened very quickly. Also why do we need to see a consultant? What could it be about or is it a regular thing? Lady on the phone said this will take 2-3hrs. Sorry if this doesn’t make sense or if I’m posing at a wrong place as I’m very new to this!

Any answers will be appreciated Blush

I think every area does things differently, I'm sure the midwife would have said if she was concerned about anything. My 8 week midwife appointment I had a wee sample, bmi check and then she just booked me in for my 12 week scan. At my scan I had another height and weight check and then had 6 lots of blood taken aswell as the scan. Maybe just give your midwife a call and check if it's normal? That's what she it there for.

Hey, thanks for a reply.
Yes I had my bmi checked too which was healthy.
I called the midwife team and now waiting for a call back. Just hope everything is okay as I can’t help but think there was something wrong with blood results 😩
