I came on here in a panic but now feel a bit better, but only marginally... Scan went ok - could see the heartbeat and they said it was fast and strong. You could see it straight away on the screen flickering away. However I am panicking because I am also measuring a week behind. Exactly the same dates as you @mostimproved - I am 7+2 but they put me as 6+2. I am trying to be positive as they seemed totally unconcerned and when I said I was worried they said there was no need and it's because the baby is so small at this stage. Even my DH is telling me to stop worrying! Especially as both you and @Murphyrocks have had the same... But I can't help it. Kind of wish I didn't go now and now just want to book another scan Sad

Murphyrocks · 15/07/2018 11:43

@ErikaSt well he did it, without me even being there, so too late to worry about it now. Just hope nothing bad happens as he's quite a sensitive child and I think he'd react badly if it went wrong. They are very close though and he wanted to explain why Mum is feeling so rubbish! Haven't had my Dr's appointment either, it's on Wednesday as tbat was the first appt u could get 5th at dh could make! 8 week scan the week after too. So many appointments already!

ErikaSt · 15/07/2018 11:44

Oh no @Sarahandduckarehigh Online shopping from now on then? 😄

I’m hoping they were all too drunk to remember anything. I haven’t heard from the wags so hoping that’s a good sign. 🤞🏻 If I do, I’ll just then ask them not to say anything, they should understand. 😏

mostimproved · 15/07/2018 11:47

@SuperSharpShooter82 glad you could see the heartbeat, I think that's the most important thing at this stage. I know what you mean though, I want to book another scan now to see if it grows!

Murphyrocks · 15/07/2018 11:49

@SuperSharpShooter82 I'm totally with you, hard not to worry, just glad I've still got the 8 week scan in 10 days as things get much safer at that point. There's got to be something to it also if we're all measuring close to a week behind - it's so tiny and growth so fast at this point that I'm sure the margin for error is fairly high.

@Sarahandduckarehigh too late now, but he's actually pretty good at keeping secrets as he has always had to keep things private across his 2 families. But yes we won't say anything to ds until at least the 8 week scan, possibly 13 weeks as he won't understand to keep quiet.

ErikaSt · 15/07/2018 11:50

Oh no @Murphyrocks What is wrong with these men! 🙄

I have an appointment on Wednesday too! I couldn’t see a doctor until 31st July so have booked myself in for a health check with the nurse (I’ve had to change doctors so it’s closer to home) I’m hoping seeing her may help get things moving. I have no idea how this all works!

SuperSharpShooter82 · 15/07/2018 11:55

That's what I'm telling myself @Murphyrocks, if it's happened to all of us it probably is just the fact the measurements are inaccurate at this stage! Feel really bummed out now though. Thought today I would feel more relaxed and I feel worse than ever.

Murphyrocks · 15/07/2018 11:59

@SuperSharpShooter82 yeah I know exactly what you mean, I was all reassured until I saw the size and consulted Dr Google (when will I learn?!) and realised how far behind it was. I keep comforting myself that the heartbeat is the important thing, and the continuing sickness/exhaustion/moodiness/growing bbs have to mean things are continuing to progress OK!

SuperSharpShooter82 · 15/07/2018 12:10

I don't really feel sick anymore and boobs are only slightly tingly. DH keeps saying to focus on the heartbeat but I am a pessimist and eternal worrier so am of course focusing on the dates. I just feel really crap now. Even if I book another scan I will still have two weeks of worrying. Wish I'd never been today!

SuperSharpShooter82 · 15/07/2018 12:10

And also my cab was internal which I thought (and Dr Google says) was more accurate so feel completely panicked.

SuperSharpShooter82 · 15/07/2018 12:11

Scan not cab! Stupid phone.

Jenfur · 15/07/2018 12:23

My scan last time showed that I was measuring earlier than I'd said. It didn't even occur to me that that could be something to worry about! They weren't worried at all and my son is perfectly healthy and arrived a little later than his updated due date. Hope that gives you some reassurance Smile

Murphyrocks · 15/07/2018 12:29

Yeah mine was external which I was surprised about, she said she'd try first but would probably need an internal but found the embryo and heartbeat no problem externally. My morning sickness started abating at about 7 weeks last time so that may well be happening with you too. I know it's hard but do try to focus on the positives!

SuperSharpShooter82 · 15/07/2018 12:39

I am measuring a week behind @Jenfur not early

Jenfur · 15/07/2018 12:43

Sorry, I did mean a week behind. I think I meant early as in I was earlier in the pregnancy than I thought. It was an external scan at 12 weeks though (but they then dated him as just under 11 weeks)

Bozley47 · 15/07/2018 13:01

My scan on Friday I was measuring at 6+1 having measured at 5+5. It’s not an exact science. And at this stage of pregnancy can be out by almost a week in terms of dates. I know I can’t possibly have been 6+1 but the embryo can be curled up and also it’s so small that the edges blur with the amniotic sac so measuring is tricky. I’m sticking with thinking I’m about 7+1 today and not remotely worried as I feel very pregnant and the heartbeat is a very reassuring sign.

And yes... my naps have occasionally resulted in a wee bit of drooling!! 🤣🤣

Bozley47 · 15/07/2018 13:02

Sorry I measured at 5+5 the Friday before. SO can’t possible have only grown +3 in 7 days!

BadBadBeans · 15/07/2018 13:31

Sorry for those who are feeling unsettled by the dating of the scans. However, at least you all know you're not alone - this is obviously reasonably common! I didn't have an early scan with DS so am not sure what is normal, but seeing a heartbeat is definitely a good sign.

I won't be booking an early scan other than the one I will need to have at 10 weeks for the Harmony test, which I'm paying for privately.

I'm only 4+1 at the moment: I feel miles behind the rest of you! With DS I was due right at the start of the month; it feels funny to be at the other end of the MN antenatal club!

When did you guys start feeling symptoms? With DS I didn't start feeling sick till the day before I hit 7 weeks. With the miscarriage I had no sickness at all, which makes sense as although I was 9 weeks along, it looked like the baby had stopped growing around 6 weeks. I'm really hoping to feel a bit queasy in three weeks' time!

ErikaSt · 15/07/2018 13:33

Could the scans be a week behind because doctors take it from your last period, whereas really the date would be from when you ovulated? There’s approx a week beteeen the two for me so although I may be 5 weeks, I’d expect to measure at 4. Does that make sense? Or have you accounted for that already?

Jenfur · 15/07/2018 13:48

BadBadBeans I'm only 4+3 and feel really behind everyone here!

My boobs felt really full and sore the last few days and I've been eating us out of house and home which are the two things that made me suspect I might be pregnant. Since finding out, my boobs feel fine, I'm not as hungry and I don't feel like I have any other symptons so don't really believe the tests now.

I must've been about 6 weeks last time I found out and I remember feeling sickness a few days later so - as much as I don't want to feel it - I'm hoping that comes on in the next couple of weeks so I believe in it more.

Murphyrocks · 15/07/2018 17:37

@ErikaSt they take that into account, I was 6+2 but 4 weeks since I ovulated. You must have a very short follicular phase if there's only a week between your period and ovulation!

I've been drooling quite a bit too when sleeping, think that's normal!

Bas27 · 15/07/2018 17:40

@Jenfur and @BadBadBeans you're not that far behind! I'm 3+6!
I was thinking the same thing though. It's weird that we're all due the same month and loads of people are already talking about scans! My line isn't even that dark!

ErikaSt · 15/07/2018 17:48

@Murphyrocks I say a week to help explain, but it’s actually around 9-10 days, I had short cycles.

Wonder what causes the drooling. My dh will find that hilarious if I do!

Murphyrocks · 15/07/2018 17:52

@ErikaSt ah fair enough. My average follicular phase is 21 days, just happened a few days early in the successful cycle. Drooling is probably due to hormones - it's all about the hormones right?!

hamandpease · 15/07/2018 18:25

Hi ladies

I have a private scan booked next week for LMP 8+5 but OPK 8+0

I'm wary of it measuring small on the OPK date because we didn't DTD after 2dpo so it will probably worry me

But I suppose we should take implantation into account? Can be 7-12 days after ovulation so that's an additional five day window affecting growth?
