Early Labor...paternity leave

Hi All,
I know this is 'mumsnet' but I hope you don't mind answering a question from a dad.
My partner, who is 4 days overdue has had some mild period pain for the last 3 days - which we think might be early labor. However, it hasn't increased and not much else has happened. She has had some mild discharge which was watery but not a lot.....
It's Monday and I have gone back to work, is that stupid? I don't want to waste my paternity leave (two weeks) being at home when I'm not needed but I also worry I should be at home.....

As long as you don't work over an hour away, have your phone on and can be contacted via through the office going back to work is fine.

Many of the guys I have worked with have just disappeared randomly when their OH's have gone into labour.
