Thoughts and prayers for Vio and baby James

I'm hoping that you kind ladies will be able to offer some kindness;

Vio is a member of MN, posting mainly on the bumps north of the border thread and also due in April. She had her little boy 2 weeks ago, sadly he has been born with a genetic skin condition called EB. Many of you may have seen a channel 4 documentary a few years back about a man named Johnny from the north east who also suffered with this.

Vio is being extremely strong and quite honest I am in awe of her.

I'm sure Vio, her husband and baby James would appreciate any thoughts and prayers from you at this difficult time.

You can see her post here

Also, you can visit the DEBRA website here

Many thanks

GMM

Hi Vio
Sending you, your DH and baby James lots of love and strength. I also live in Scotland and I think it's lovely that you have such strong support here on MN. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help. You sound as if you're being really strong for your DH and baby James - good for you. Please make sure you look after yourself too, as you will also need lots of support at this time.
Lots of love and hugs

Vio and family.....
Words just seem so inadequate, but I wanted to let you know that my thoughts are with you and your family at what must be a very difficult and trying time. I'm due in June and a few of us had been following the stories of the April births so although you don't "know" me your MN name was familiar.
You seem to be coping with this really well and James sounds like he's a big strong boy.
Take Care and God Bless
Dxx

Very sorry you have to cope with this, though it sounds like you are doing really well. Will be thinking of you. I hope you find the support you need

Oh, so sorry to hear this. I know there is another MNer who has a daughter with this condition iirc - but I can't remember her posting name or even if she is still around. If I can find out who it is I will post on this thread in case she can offer some advice and support.

Thinking of you

AitchTwoOh · 10/05/2007 22:31

be strong, all of you. and congratulations on your lovely boy, Vio.

Vio, I've never spoken to you before, but read about your little boy, and what a difficult time you're having.
I just wanted to send my love and support and to wish you all the best as you come to terms with things being different from how you expected.
I don't know exactly what you're going through but I did have to come to terms with "real life" myself when DD3 was born with Downs syndrome. All I knew about her ack then was that she had DS - there is now so much more to her than just that diagnosis.
I hope that as you and your boy get to know one another that things become easier for you and you find ways to deal with his diagnosis. He is lucky to have a Mum who loves him so much.
Come and let us know how you are all getting on xxx
