Can't believe we need more space... again...

Oh and am feeling very pleased - just got the spare room empty (apart from one bit of furniture that'll just have to be worked around) ready for decorating as a nursery DH has demolished a cupboard and some shelves in there and so all we have to do now is take all the rubbish he generated to the waste center and go get the paint etc. But good grief, you should have seen the wallpaper behind the cupboard he took down - ghastly!! The sooner we get some nice lemony yellow paint up the better.

Myfairone · 20/05/2007 18:16

Jamantha - Sorry about the holiday from hell but congrats on the room! The yellow paint will sort it out!!!! It did mine!

Typhoonsmum - Laughing out loud at the pet rock comment! Luckily for me I have a very affectionate dog who I have taken to sleeping with! (or should I say who sleeps with me!) I get his sympathy when I wake up and he always gives me cuddles if I am cold! Too bad he's not human!

Weepiglet 2 - I like work too, its just the journey that kills me!

Hope you all had a great weekend...big hugs to all and their bumps.

I have been marooned without PC for days!

Damn those builder types and the necessity to isolate my PC from the rest of the house. I have clambered over sofa and piles of boxes to get to the electronical interwebs

Hope everyone is well.

I am still officially fed up of pregnancy. I am also fed up of builders and their detritus. I'm also annoyed with the sun, so can we send it back from whence it came please? Oh, and my asthma can go take a running jump.

I'm in a bit of a ranty mood today? Can you tell? I'd best be off to get some kip, but I might check out the AIBU forum first as that's always a good place to let off steam.

Take care everyone

Agnes

Kyte - I am so sorry to hear about your 'gas problem'! I hope they can get it fixed sooner rather than later.

Okay, heres my attempt to cheer you up:
Try the following: Put some music on and dance, sing and run around being silly for the entire song!

Take the happiness option. You have the choice whether to spend this day, which you will never live through again, in a state of happiness or unhappiness. Choose to spend it as happily as you possibly can

Agnes - How are you today? Hope you feel calmer.

Not sure how I feel this morning. Still feel a little upset over things my Mum/Aunt have said but think I may be a little hormonal too so trying to calm down.

I have 24 days left at work (not counting today!)

Groveregg · 21/05/2007 11:18

Hmm I am trying to think of some good news for you Kyte... hope it isn't too hideous. And hope everyone else is doing well, I tried to catch up with this thread last night but it took me over an hour!

For the first time in quite a while I am actually feeling quite good today - we got back from a week in France this weekend and actually now we're all unpacked and the washing's done it's hit me that it's really nice to be home! It wasn't a bad holiday at all - apart from the first night (ds and I spent the night in Calais hospital after he threw himself out of a supermarket trolley and landed on his head - absolutely fine after a couple of hours but they insisted on keeping him in). I was just glad I am fluent in French! The rest was fine but we couldn't get ds interested in any of the food over there (and I thought he had quite good taste) and it is just so nice to be back here where I can feed him his usual things and he has all his toys around him.

I am definitely still in denial about the forthcoming baby though; I really must try and make some time to concentrate on clearing out attic for ds, sorting out baby clothes, getting organised with friends as to who can look after ds while I'm in labour - and getting a name for a boy just in case!

Groveregg · 21/05/2007 11:24

Good cheering up there myfairone, can you come round to my house every day and say things like that?

Jamantha · 21/05/2007 11:58

kyte - sorry to hear about your leak. Hope it doesn't casue too much hassle for you. On the up-side, probably better to have it this side of d-day? But I guess that's not that much consolation.

Glad DS was OK Groveregg, and glad you managed to enjoy the rest of the week. There ususally is somthing nice about getting home though after being away, even without considering DC eating habits etc, so welcome back.

Sorry to hear about your leak Kyte but hope that when they see your bump they'll make you a priority.

I was all ready to come on here for a bit of a moan but have realised that that's a bit self indulgent when other people have it far worse.

I think I'm partly fed up with having to rest (But know how irritating that comment must be to people who are still struggling with nasty commutes etc. ) and doing so little I just feel like a huge uncomfortable blimp who's fed up with being pregnant! I feel like this weekend my bump has suddenly expanded such that even just getting in and out of a chair is a military operation!

But - I also know how lucky I am and that life's really not that bad so will quit moaning and wish everyone else a happy monday!

Take Care xx

Hi! I haven't caught up with all the messages yet, but hope everyone is well. I noticed there have been a couple of PE scares - I hope you ladies are okay and hanging in there.

Myfairone - great advice - I was feeling like a moan, but I'd much rather have a happy day. Well, I'd really love to be dancing arounnd the room but can't muster the energy for that!

Only 2 weeks left at work for me - I can't believe that I am going to have all that time off! If everything goes by the book, I should have 5 weeks at home before the LO arrives - I have waited all my working life for this!!! It will be strange to begin with, but I'm sure I'll get used to it . I'm just wondering how I'll fill the days without eating too much/spending too much money online etc/worrying about the new arrival etc.

I see some of you have been talking about hospital bags - if you were staying away the night (e.g. at friends), would you be starting to take you bag with you? Or just your notes? Or am I being a bit too premature here (I'm 33 weeks)?

Good luck with getting the leak sorted out Kyte - hope it doesn't cause too much of an upheaval.

Myfairone · 21/05/2007 14:57

Groveregg - Always happy to oblige with the cheering up!

Kyte - Sounds like you got your head round it, well done! Nothing wrong with inviting the workman to join you in the dance...who knows, maybe he needs cheering up too!

Weddingcake - Its perfectly okay to moan! Go ahead, you are amongst friends
Being told to rest is so hard! You are doing a grand job...well done!

Catstar - If you dont have the energy to dance then force yourself to smile even if you don't feel like it. This tricks your brain into thinking that you are happy.
I'm so jealous that you only have 2 weeks left at work! I too am planning on leaving 5 weeks before my due date (but I have 5 weeks left!!!!!)
Cannot wait to have all that time off!

Firststar - I try!

I have started to put a bag together...well, I have bought some pads and stuff...what is everyone else doing regarding knickers? A friend of mine told me that throwaway ones are uncomfortable and to buy cheap 'big' knickers....not sure what sounds worse

Not sure I will have a bag big enough if I start to pack it now!

Asds smart price knickers all the way! I did buy some primark ones but to be honest they came up so small I think they might have been a bit tight even pre pregnancy!

Have just realised that once this baby arrives I'm sure I'll look back on my moaning about having to rest with utter disbelief!

Myfairone · 21/05/2007 15:55

Firststar - Thanks for the tip, will go to Asda for some 'real' knickers! I had visions of me crackling as I walked because of the paper knicks!

Weddingcake - I was told to rest for two days and didn't realise how frustrating it could be...Don't worry about the moaning, we all do our fair share of it and yet feel guilty because we are so excited all at the same time!

Well, after moaning that I feel too fat to walk and not waddle, I just managed to eat an entire packet of Coconut Ice from M&S...just knew I should have resisted! They force you to join a queue and then tempt you with bags of sweets all the way to the till! Must rememeber to keep my eyes closed when in line!

I wonder if I put them on over my trousers in Asda and dance around claiming to be 'cheering myself up' if I would be arrested?

Anyone want to dare me!??!?!?!

(Sitting at my desk laughing now!...really must stop or they will think I am enjoying myself!)

pulapula · 21/05/2007 17:04

I bought some disposable pants last time round, and still have a box of them at home, so can only guess that they weren't very comfortable!. So think I'll be heading to ASDA soon too- thanks for the tip.

I finish work on 31 May, but only 4 more days left in the office due to the Bank Hol and my working patterns. So not long at all!

I haven't got everything for my bag yet- I'm waiting til I'm on maternity leave. I'm not worrying too much about having a bag ready since the hospital has supplies of essentials (pads, nappies etc) if baby decides to come early.

I also thought that last time, I'd be off to hospital after a few hours of contractions, but ended up being at home for 30 hours (I kept asking them to take me in but they said I wasn't in established labour although when they did finally let me, I was 7cm dilated), so there should be time for some last minute shopping/packing if anything does happen...

Jamantha · 21/05/2007 17:24

Firststar, I really take my hat off to you - just read your post and am VERY impressed by how you mention so many people individually. I often feel so guilty that I'm not giving individual replies in a lot of cases, especially when there's a lot to take in at once, so WELL DONE YOU.

Have to admit, I'm not actually decorating the spare room myself though. Got my Dad coming tomorrow as I don't feel up to stepladders. And next week we've got someone coming to decorate 2 rooms downstairs - so having just moved everything from upstairs to down for Dad to have a clear run, when he's done we'll move it all (and more) upstairs to make room down here, and then the week after that we'll move it all downstairs again into it's final resting place - phew! Be good to get the work done though, most of it has been waiting to be done for about 2-3 years now. Nothing like imminent childbirth to give you a deadline eh?

As for pants, a lot of mine are old and a bit "saggy" looking, so I'm planning on using them and then treating myself to a whole new load afterwards Am loving the idea of myfairone dancing in Asda with pants on over her trousers though

typhoonsmum · 21/05/2007 17:36

Not sure if I mention that DD had her first attempt at hairdressing the other day on her own fringe. (Cut in a diagnal across her face so the shortest bit is too short to fix)
Anyway I know the school Photographer was coming this term but last year we were given a letter telling us when. When I got home from work MIL told me he had been today and none of the morning class knew.
So DD had her photo done with a gonky fringe and not her best dress on. God know what that will look like.
