No specific post-natal category so I've added it to the normal ante-natal category ...

Awww she is lovely. Well done for getting through it. :)

DanaChops · 16/11/2017 03:57

Thank you 😊

theotherendofthesockportal · 16/11/2017 05:46

@DanaChops congratulations, she is lovely. How much did she weigh?

DanaChops · 16/11/2017 06:36

She was 7lb 9 but had a growth scan (due to GD the day before) and was estimated 8lb3 - so thought she was going to be really big. She's also now quite jaundice and has until sat to get rid of it before She's referred to jaundice clinic - her brother was 7 weeks early and needed to go under the lights for quite a while so hoping that she kicks it before then

Zampa · 16/11/2017 07:22

That's a lovely photo @danachops! Congratulations!

lydiangel83 · 16/11/2017 16:09

Congratulations @DanaChops beautiful girl and beautiful name! We were torn between Emilia and Liliana for our girls name and went with L because it sounds better with our surname. Good luck with the jaundice

lydiangel83 · 16/11/2017 16:10

Ps your labour sounds tough well done!

DanaChops · 16/11/2017 16:36

Thanks @lydiangel83 it was really quick so wasn't as bad as I'm making out and came out of hospital the next day lol but I am a wuss and would have appreciated any sort of pain relief. Liliana is a lovely name 😊

Stupid question... What car seat does everyone have? We have one that fits on our travel system & was fine for the older DC until they were nearly 1. I found out today that the law has changed & they now need to be rear-facing until 15m, which our current one won't do. I knew they'd changed the law about boosters for older DC but when the changes were announced I didn't think we were going to have another one so the baby-relevant bit didn't filter into my brain! We'll probably use the one we've got for now but will need to get one that's rear-facing passed 9m before too long.

theotherendofthesockportal · 16/11/2017 17:55

@AGnu my car seat goes with the travel system - maxi cosi. I don’t know what age it goes upto, and I had no idea what age it goes up to! Confused

DuRezidal · 16/11/2017 18:09

I’ve got a very spotty baby, anyone else?

He is sleeping so well, following exactly the same pattern our daughter did when she was a new born. We have had the odd night where he has been a big grumbly but he has been excellent most nights sleeping 4 hour slots through the night.

I’ve gone back to work part time this week, just riding my own horses at the moment, not clients. But competing for the first time this weekend and my husband is bringing him along to watch mummy to the one on Sunday.

butterybollocks · 16/11/2017 18:21

@AGnu we have a maxi cosi pebble which will do the job, and we did extended rear facing for DD so then have a rearward facing britax toddler seat. DD didn't go forward facing until she was 4.

Dana, congrats :) mine has jaundice too, we have until Tuesday to get rid of it. We've been putting him in his Pram for naps and parking him up by the patio doors for a few hours.

Good luck for the weekend @durezidal. How are you finding it being back at work?

GingerHanna · 16/11/2017 22:14

I have a maxi cosi - only model that works with the Bakfiets (cargo bike) which we will use when he goes to nursery. Not meant to use until 3 months and given it’s a typical cold wet winter here I wouldn’t want to anyway!

Zampa · 16/11/2017 22:18

We have a lie flat Cybex Cloud Q. Great, safe for longer use in the travel system pram but very heavy.

I don't think you have to replace your seat due to the change in the law. You just can't buy a new seat which doesn't comply. We're still using an old fashioned booster seat for DSS (9).

Just doing the night feed so thought I would check in. @butterybollocks I love being back on board (although only had 9 days out the saddle) but I find it so hard leaving him! He is such an amazing baby, I can’t believe that we have another one who sleeps so beautifully! Everyone always says you can’t have two the same, but so far he is following the exact same pattern our daughter did.

I’m in two minds about Saturdays show as will be leaving at 8am and not back until 8pm at the earliest. So although I am really looking forwards to dancing with my top mare again, I am dreading being away from J all that time!

LaBelleSausage · 17/11/2017 05:21

I’ve been terrible at posting on these threads but it’s the poster formerly known as nicecuppa here, placemarking.

I’m due Sunday so with some luck I should be joining you babied up ladies soon

AGnu · 17/11/2017 10:26

My due date is tomorrow. She can't come out soon enough for me now! I'm in so much pain. My pubic bone feels like it's broken & my back aches. I'm shuffling round the house & DS1 seems to have chosen today to be a stroppy nightmare! I actually cried in the kitchen at breakfast time after we'd argued about which chair he should sit in. Apparently I'd put his milk in the wrong place & on the wrong mat. Usually I'd just suggest that he could move it if he wanted but he'd already been really rude to me all morning so insisted he should sit where he usually does. It ended up with him dropping his toast because he was trying to carry his plate on his chosen mat & me using the sound of the kettle boiling to mask my crying. DH can do lunch! I'm just so ready to not be pregnant anymore!

theotherendofthesockportal · 17/11/2017 11:17

@AGnu you poor thing, your morning sounds awful. Sending you a hand hold. Is your DH at home so you can have a bath and have a mini relax?

butterybollocks · 17/11/2017 17:52

Sounds stressful @AGnu, hope baby arrives soon for you. I found parenting DD really really hard in the last week or two of being heavily pregnant and felt like such a crap mum. I was stressed and grumpy but it's been much easier since Freddie arrived.

Had a bit of a wobble this morning - we ventured into town with F in the pram for the first time. He's normally pretty chilled but he screamed most of the time unless we picked him up. He seems to have been super hungry today so I think he just wouldn't settle. Feel like it's knocked my confidence a bit in terms of getting out and doing stuff with him. Hopefully our next outing will be more successful! Confused

DuRezidal · 17/11/2017 19:16

@butterybollocks I would try to get yourself out again asap otherwise I think you will keep worrying about it.

J came with me to the hairdressers today and had a bit of a grumble because he was hungry and it was not easy feeding him while having my hair washed but just about managed.

He is also super hungry at the moment. He is now drinking 4 oz (120ml) in one go and having around 8 bottles a day! I am sure they are supposed to be on 6 a day! He has now made 7lb so exceeded his birth weight which is a relief, one more milestone.

Julesbegone · 17/11/2017 20:42

Just something interesting to note, ladies: I was adamant the whole way through the pregnancy that I wanted a water birth and thankfully, ended up in a birthing room which had one. I arrived at hospital 8cm dilated so labour was well under way but slowed to the point of practically stopping both times I gave the pool a go so had to get out! It was literally as if someone had flicked a switch and turned my contractions off.

Turns out it made me too relaxed, which on one hand is undoubtably one of the reasons I managed to push out a 9lb baby with only two paracetamol but on the other hand, the Midwife said afterwards that it added approximately two hours to the whole experience, which I’d rather never do again.
