hello

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Daisybump · 18/04/2007 15:42

I'm back......i get to read all the posts, then compose one myself only to find the interweb has crashed again...it's been so bloody annoying. By the time its back on again, the convo has moved on.....but LOL at the what car thread...is she serious, or is the thread itself just a wind up?

marylou23 · 18/04/2007 15:51

If this nanny's overweight too, the mother could get her a bicycle wiht a little cart for the babies to ride behind her...

Personally, I'm still having nightmares trying to work out whether I should insist on the chauffeur wearing a cap in this hot weather or not. I mean, I hate to be unreasonable, but if he doesn't wear it, people might think we're... you know... friends or something

Seansgirl · 18/04/2007 15:54

Just the cap Marylou?

bumperlicious · 18/04/2007 15:57

Am I being unreasonable?: To expect the evening nanny to get here before the day nanny leaves?

Actually, sadly that is a semi serious comment. My friend used to be a London nanny and one of the mothers used to get a babysitter in when it was her night off. She didn't work or anything, and was going to be in the house all evening!

bumperlicious · 18/04/2007 16:00

Hmm, anyone else keep seeing the Fab banner ad and think "oh I could really do with a Fab right now"?

derlor · 18/04/2007 16:05

Oh i agree Marylou. I insist on my staff all wearing full uniform at all times - chauffeur without hat, butler without bow tie - simply unnacceptable IMO!!!!
FAB ice lolly - mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

OP posts:
marylou23 · 18/04/2007 16:06

Seansgirl, now you're talking!

I think I must have switched banners off - no Fabs winking at me, just a box offering 10% off at Blooming Marvellous.

Am I unreasonable to be utterly bored of work and desperate to finish so I can go and lie in the garden?

marylou23 · 18/04/2007 16:07

Derlor, it's about standards, isn't it? I mean, no one would let their DS out of the house without their sailor suit, would they?

derlor · 18/04/2007 16:11

have spent a looooooooooong boring day sorting through paprwork in order to empty out about 5 drawers full of unfilled bills etc (bloody secretary was so crap we has to sack her!!!!!!) Need that chest of drawers for baby so had to be done - feels good now though. unfortunately, still have to paint and build cot/bed etc for the room - oh why didn't i just get a dog!!!

OP posts:
marylou23 · 18/04/2007 16:12

Because you can't nappy train a dog, or force them into a career as a hedge fund manager

hollyandalice · 18/04/2007 16:18

Good afternoon all! Just walked into the kitchen and my dd was sat on the floor eating Wine Gums...she has eaten half a pack! Oooopsy, bad mother alert!

Hope you are ok trace2, not long to go now and all the worry will be over and will be replaced with a wonderful sweet smelling bundle of loveliness! Sending (((hugs))) your way.

I never did the "shit I'm having a baby" thing. I think I was in such denial over the whole thing that I didn't even really think about it. That was prob a mistake as I remember sitting in the hospital bed trying to bf thinking "shit I've got a baby"!! I like to put things off!

What a twat on the nanny car thread! She is blatantly showing off about how much money she has! How the other half live ! Made me PMSL though!

Daisy I got my Vertbaudet shorts yesterday, they are lovely! They do fall down all the time, but I think that's just maternity clothes for you!

annobal · 18/04/2007 16:22

Not Fab but I have been dying for a diet coke for about 3 weeks. Managed to resist so far but am dreaming of large glass with lots of ice!

Have just caught up with all I've missed today. ROFL at the nanny's car - myself, i'd be pissed off with a Citroen Zara Picasso (sorry to anyone who has one) and def go for the BMW X5 - no, make that a Porsche Cayenne!

Foxy - your pressie sounds great. Will now have to get mine out.

derlor · 18/04/2007 16:23

Holly i'm well impressed - SHORTS!!!!
flip you wouldn't catch me in shorts even when not pg. i envy your legs and i haven't even clapped eyes on them

OP posts:
annobal · 18/04/2007 16:24

Wine gums must surely count for at least 2 of her 5 a day so don't worry...

derlor · 18/04/2007 16:24

oh and Holly wine gums = fruit in my opinion
you see. wine=grapes=fruit
so you ARE a GREAT mother.

OP posts:
derlor · 18/04/2007 16:26

Annobal X posts - great minds think alike - see it MUST be true!!

OP posts:
annobal · 18/04/2007 16:28

Absolutely! I, on the other hand, am such a great mother that LOs are watching tv while I talk on Mumsnet. Must go put some rice on for their dinner - looks like its Tana Ramsey's carrot, lentil and chicken thing tonight.

hollyandalice · 18/04/2007 16:29

PMSL!! Yes wine gums are def fruit, I AM a great mother!

Derlor they are not hotpants, more like cropped jeans! I don't have legs anyone would be envious of!

Shit dp has just finished his work phone call, that means I have to do some decorating now!

derlor · 18/04/2007 16:37

aah now cropped jeans are my favourite - wearing some now actually. i've got good ankles but thets where it ends - show off your best bits i say!!!!
anyway i have had to sit for most of today (while doing my filing) cause EVERY time i stand up and walk i have EXTREEMLY uncomfortable fanjo pain. brings tears to my eyes. have been getting it maybe once or twice a week up till now so WTF is going on today???? they don't discuss THAT at antinatal!!!

OP posts:
Seansgirl · 18/04/2007 16:38

Derlor! You sound just like me! Bills everything flippin where! I hate paperwork! But need to get organised am trying to convince DH we need to get a laptop not this great thing on a desk! Then I can get a nice big cupboard and put bills, laptop, paper, blah blah away so I don't have to look at it!!

Holly I'm sure you're being modest and your legs are lovely - you used to do dance right (and that offer of a film)? Sure they wouldn't have been interested if you had tree trunks!!

Seansgirl · 18/04/2007 16:39

dur! every flipping where obviously

Seansgirl · 18/04/2007 16:44

Right off to DMs to fetch DD. Have not managed to save any money on bills but have nearly had heart failure at my new lecky supposed bargain 'price fix til 2008' The fuckers have trebled my lecky night unit price ! And uswitch can't find anyone cheaper ggggrrrrr.....

But have upgraded my mobile its important that the new LO has a mum with a reasonable phone right?

Seansgirl · 18/04/2007 16:46

No fab ads here either! But have just noticed we wil have to be thinking of a new title in the next week!

Any ideas? Should we have one that would ruffle some feathers?

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 18/04/2007 16:46

Annobal - I caved in and had a glass of D Coke last night - I had a massive craving - am I a bad person (I think you're allowed a bit of it aren't you?)

Urrrggh the dog has just trotted into my office stinking of shit?? Must have found something in the garden to roll in!? I've got to go and wash the little bugger!

derlor · 18/04/2007 16:47

well i'm off too to make the tea......
