Apologies if this is the wrong forum but currently just over 11 weeks pregnant following a late miscarriage at 20 weeks, 2 years ago.
Anyway, consultant led antenatal care par for the course given my age and previous history.
I had an horrendous first consultation today where the consultant who I was expecting didn't actually meet me - apparently they juggle caseloads and I could be seeing someone different each time which has distressed me because I so much wanted consistency. The consultant was patronising and quite honestly, it didn't feel like she had prepared for my appointment today - blood forms etc. re clotting issues had not been prepared. Also scans will take place every four weeks instead of every two-three as I originally thought to check on placenta issues - is this an unreasonable expectation to expect more frequent scans? Thoroughly disappointed and left the appointment feeling negative and unsupported.
We have private health care but pregnancy related issues aren't covered and we live outside of the London area so no easy access. Unfortunately, I have to say the difference between private health care and the NHS seems to be growing as the years go by - the former being far more slick, better care etc. Has anyone else had this type of experience, I feel very let down by this whole experience especially when I feel vulnerable and need looking after!
