@weasledee congratulations!!!!

Owl1011 · 26/09/2017 19:51

@Lenska999 I'm so sorry to hear about your mum Flowers and also your work stresses. Glad you found the thread though Smile

Lenska999 · 26/09/2017 19:55

Thanks owl1011 I'm getting there slowly, so glad I found you guys again though.

Hope your movement goes back to normal, don't be afraid to phone mat assessment if you are concerned, or contact out of hours services for advice.

Rosehyd2 · 26/09/2017 20:02

@Owl1011 I'm 23weeks and have barely felt any movement at all - I've felt a couple of popping sensations but that's really it! I had two people today comment on how they had no idea I was pregnant and they see me a lot at work. Both commented how tiny I was to be nearly six months. It's quite worrying but I know they mean no harm.

Owl1011 · 26/09/2017 20:17

Thanks @Rosehyd2 and @Lenska999 I've started to feel more movement over the last week but it's been hardly anything today which has made me worry Confused

I think people think they are being complementary when they refer to my bump as 'cute' but it secretly makes me panic I'm smaller than I should be! Can't wait until my midwife appointment on 9th!

SJ1989 · 26/09/2017 20:24

@Lanska999 sorry to hear about your mum hope your coping the best you can with such a major loss!

SJ1989 · 26/09/2017 20:25

@Lenska999 sorry for the typo on your name

SpringChicken26 · 26/09/2017 21:12

@Owl1011 I wouldn’t worry everyone keeps telling me how small I am even the midwife referred to my ‘cute little bump’ at my 25 week appointment ! I actually feel huge think it’s because my stomach has always been probably smallest part of me and has actually grown loads but probably more I’m proportionate to my slightly chunky thighs no ! lol I’m wondering what I’ll be measuring at my 28 week appointment ! Plus my friend had her first in may and was measuring 2 weeks behind and looked tiny whole way through and gave birth to an 8lb baby at 37 weeks she clearly carried her well !

Lenska999 · 26/09/2017 21:27

Thank you SJ1989 I do feel like I'm coming out the other side now. Had my 12 week scan just days after she died and was convinced something was wrong, but thankfully all has been good.

Mummyme87 · 27/09/2017 06:52

Try not to listen to comments on the size of your bump. I wish people wouldn't comment on such things.
I look huge and have done since 13weeks but my uterus measures perfectly, well it does when i palpate it not been officially measured yet

asafemooring · 27/09/2017 10:54

@Lenska999 so sorry for your loss. My mum died when I was 19 weeks pregnant with my daughter and it was really difficult. I hope you have lots of support, its such an emotional time.

peachgreen · 27/09/2017 11:09

@Owl1011 I had a day of very limited movement yesterday and was so worried but she started kicking away like mad as soon as I got in to bed (and was literally just about to phone the midwife!). Hope yours does too.

@Lenska999 I'm so sorry for your loss, what an awful thing to go through. Glad to have you back on the thread.

Owl1011 · 27/09/2017 12:12

Thanks @SpringChicken26 and @peachgreen, it's worrying when you feel it and then nothing! I'm still nervous as haven't felt much movement today but I've been working away since Monday and incredibly busy so hoping it's just that I haven't noticed as much. Hoping that when I get home later and finally relax that I'll start to feel it more, but I will phone the midwife tomorrow morning for some reassurance.

@Mummyme87 i had never realised how much it's open forum for people to comment on your body when pregnant!

Hope everyone is well Smile

ForumUsername · 27/09/2017 18:44

@Owl1011 I was worried yesterday because I thought I had reduced movement
I have been getting fairly strong movements the past 2 weeks especially in the evening
But Monday night baby was quite and then all day yesterday
I was feeling some movement but it was much weaker than before
Today it’s back being really strong, I guess baby had just moved to a different area or was a bit tired
So many things to make us worry!

I started proper ugly crying this morning when Ed Sheeran Castle in a Hill came on the radio on my drive to work
First big emotional moment I had, I have felt a little weepy but could manage to distract myself from it but not this morning

Waitingonasmile · 27/09/2017 20:34

Is anyone else getting sore in the middle of their ribs when they lie down? It feels like they are pushing together and hurt down the middle. I remember this last time but not this early.

I can't believe how sore and uncomfortable i feel already and I'm only 25 weeks. Blush There's so long left to go!

klaw87 · 27/09/2017 20:49

@Waitingonasmile not in the middle as such, but I get pain on the right side of my ribs when I lie down (doesn't matter which side I lie on!) and have done for weeks now. My pregnancy pillow did help for a while but it's back now! I also get pins and needles in a small patch under my right ribs too - no idea what that's all about but it's not exactly comfortable!

I'm also surprised with how uncomfortable I am already - was planning on working up to 21st Dec (due 9th Jan) but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to! I'm in such an active job (special needs school) and it's very difficult to slow down even when I know I should! very confused and not 100% sure when I need to tell the school when I want to start mat leave :/

Waitingonasmile · 27/09/2017 21:06

@klaw87 I'm also due 9th and was planning to work until 21st lol. Due to childcare coming to an end I'll need to stop work earlier than planned and last day will be 7th Dec. I actually think that will be the right time to stop and spend time with DS. Feel a bit pathetic I'm so moany this early but never mind!

Preeclampsia started with swelling from about 32 weeks last time so starting to get paranoid already. Blush Keep checking my feet lol.

klaw87 · 27/09/2017 21:11

@Waitingonasmile how weird that dates are exactly the same haha!
This is my first and I really just don't want to be completely exhausted before he even gets here - I suppose I'll just have to see how I go really.

I'm trying not to moan too much too, so far it's been a straightforward pregnancy but it doesn't mean it's not taking a toll on me still - I am knackered!

ChocoMunchi · 27/09/2017 22:37

@klaw87 @Waitingonasmile I am going to say it's ok to have a little moan, so I can take pressure off myself and be ok about having a little moan as well.

It's exhausting and although my pregnancy is fairly straightforward (for which I am very thankful) it's still exhausting. I feel tired and frumpy, my hands and feet swell from working all day full-time and then running around after 3 kids when I get home. I drop exhausted into bed at 10ish at night and wake up still exhausted starting all over again in the morning.

It's exhausting putting on a brave face to everyone who thinks it's ok to comment on how big you are and say things like are u sure there's just one in there! All the aches, bumps, weird taste, sickness, leaky boobs and dizziness is exhausting.

But you know this chat helps u realise that we are all in the same boat feeling the same things and we r not odd or ungrateful that we are so very lucky that in a few months we will be sharing our new baby stories with each other.

Every little kick or movement reminds us that it's all worth it because we are amazing women who are making little people 💕

Everyone needs to take care of themselves and be ok having a little moan because that's ok too 😘😘

SJ1989 · 28/09/2017 07:42

@chocomunchi very well said! We are Definitely entitled to a moan and a single every now and then our bodies are working bloody hard making our babies who will all be little individuals like our bumps are all individual! Try not to worry about size comments as hard as it it, people keep commenting that I'm big an due to problems with my uterus I'm high risk for pre term as my uterus may not be able to expand fully so when people say I'm big already it does make me worry but I'm doing pretty well at ignoring it since seeing the consultant as she was happy with everything and midwife said bump is measuring perfectly so ignore the comments everyone shows and carries differently

klaw87 · 28/09/2017 08:21

@ChocoMunchi absolutely - you've taken the words right out of my mouth. Thank you, I needed that ❤️

Gemxo · 28/09/2017 08:32

Good luck for today @Iamchanging I will be thinking about you ❤️

Hotpinkangel19 · 28/09/2017 08:54

@Lenska999 Sorry about your mum Flowers I lost my mum in June, then 11 weeks later my Dad passed away ☹️ that was 4 weeks ago and I’m still not coping well and worried about the stress on my baby x

weasledee · 28/09/2017 09:24

I’m so sorry hotpink you poor thing! My dad died when I was 16 weeks with my second baby, and the stress was terrible but baby was fine.
Look after yourself and when baby arrives they’ll be a happy distraction for you Flowers

Waitingonasmile · 28/09/2017 09:59

@ChocoMunchi that made me feel much better about being moany and miserable last night!

@Hotpinkangel19 that's bloody awful! Baby will be swimming about absolutely clueless in there though don't worry. I lost my dad during my last pregnancy and that was bad enough.

@Disinterested Good luck today. Really hope you get better news.

@Lenska999 Flowers Thats a shame. Pregnancy is hard enough without losing someone close and work problems.
