@lydiangel83 the last pregnant lady in my office gave birth at 35 weeks, this confirms to me that I'm doing the right thing going a tad earlier on Friday.

Can I ask you all, how much sleep are you getting and how many times you are up for a wee in the night? Last night was an exceptionally bad night for me, only 2 hours 20 minutes sleep and up 12 times for a wee.

I'm seeing the consultant tomorrow and want to put an argument for some help forward if I'm suffering badly compared to your experiences. Thank you 💐

AGnu · 25/09/2017 18:10

I'm getting 6-7 hours with maybe one wee. I don't drink enough but I'd have thought 12 times is excessive!

redfragglebiker · 25/09/2017 18:14

sockportal I'd say 5-6 hours a night (4 ons bad one). Probably 1-3 wees.
My nocturnal peeing habits are not something I ever thought I would share!!!

butterybollocks · 25/09/2017 18:21

Probably 5-6 hours with 2-3 wees. 12 times in a night sounds like a lot.

lydiangel83 · 25/09/2017 18:22

4-5 hrs with 2-3 wees. I also met a colleague today for lunch who left work with 4 wks to go and next day had baby 4 wks early. Waters broke naturally and it was her first!!

Zampa · 25/09/2017 18:24

I normally sleep quite well with only one "comfort break" overnight. I wake up early which is frustrating but even more annoying are DD's nocturnal habits which gave seen her wake at least once a night.

She was up for about 3 hours last night, screaming if she was left in her cot but happily playing when accompanied. We finally both went back to sleep at 0630, just before the alarm!

theotherendofthesockportal · 25/09/2017 18:31

Thank you ladies for sharing with me! I feel confident to tell the consultant tomorrow that my night time habits are not normal! I don't know where I would be with you all!

theotherendofthesockportal · 25/09/2017 18:31

Without you all*

AccrualIntentions · 25/09/2017 19:46

I'm still getting about 7.5 hours, one wee break. But waking up at around 5 every morning which is a bit annoying.

Another trip to maternity assessment unit today for reduced movement. Obviously as soon as I got there the little git started kicking up a storm Blush.

Topsyloulou · 25/09/2017 21:07

Im currently very lucky & I'm probably getting 7 hours a night with no getting up for a wee. I do seem to wake at 5 most days & not go back to sleep. I had awful pregnancy insomnia with DS. Was only getting 4 hours a night from about 25 weeks & lots of getting up for a wee so I'm well aware how lucky I am this time & fully prepared to be sleeping less & weeing more as the weeks progress.

I still have 5 weeks left at work, seemed like a great idea at the time but not so sure now. Found out today that work aren't getting any mat leave cover me as despite all the conversations still no applicants. This means my already over worked colleagues are picking up my work, I know it's not my fault but I feel so guilty that they're having to take on extra. Now need them to decide who's doing what so I can start handing over.

That must have been worrying @AccrualIntentions , glad the little monkey was wriggling away. Always best to get checked. Think there are riverdance auditions going on in my bump today, she has not stopped all day & some of the kicks have been pretty ferocious!

TreasureInMyTummy · 26/09/2017 00:45

Ugh is anyone else finding tum is getting heavy and uncomfortable by evenings? It also giving me backache so I end up going to bed to lie down on my side and take the weight off my back and then the heartburn kicks in.

I've found out I have to find sugar free rennies so lying here trying to suck in sugar free mints ( they don't work the same) and the heartburn not going away. Then I have to get up to go the loo ( about 5-6 times a night) which kinda of starts all the heartburn off again when I lie down again.

Urgh and I'm only 32 weeks I just keep thinking this is going to get worse :(

AGnu · 26/09/2017 01:13

I'm getting a lot of Braxton Hicks. My belly gets really hard & sensitive & they happen more in the evenings which is also when she's most active. My bump ends up feeling bruised & sore. If I try standing up she starts kicking in places I really don't want to be kicked & I get really paranoid that she's going to break the sac!

Yy to the heartburn. I keep my Gaviscon close & often find, like tonight, that I can't quite bring myself to settle down in bed because I know it'll make the heartburn worse.

I'm also 32w & I'm getting really fed up with people telling me these last few weeks will fly by. This is DC3. I know full well that the last week's drag. I don't want them to "fly by" because there's still so much I want to get done before she comes. The trouble is that I feel so sore so much of the time that I can't do the things I need to & end up sitting around thinking about how much I'm not doing - not exactly conducive to time flying!

I'm also having ridiculous mood swings. Just a few hours ago I was having fun poking her feet as they pressed against my belly, now I'm semi-convinced she's a sadistic sociopath who hates me & is deliberately trying to hurt me. Hmm

lydiangel83 · 26/09/2017 02:15

@AGnu yes baby comes alive at night causing pain and stopping sleep. I'm a bad sleeper at the best of times and can't wait to give up work.

lydiangel83 · 26/09/2017 02:15

@TreasureInMyTummy yes kicking and soreness at night, heartburn not too bad as gaviscon helps

lydiangel83 · 26/09/2017 02:17

@TreasureInMyTummy also terrible back ache all the time and that's probably been my main symptom, had bad back previously so kind of expected it but not a lot that can be done

TreasureInMyTummy · 26/09/2017 04:21

Glad I'm not only one :) Anyone know if gaviscon is sugar free?

Thanks for letting me come on here and rant, so happy I'm pregnant and can't wait to meet my little one but some times I'm so fed up with being pregnant and all the symptoms and aches and pains that come with it! Xxx

lydiangel83 · 26/09/2017 04:24

@TreasureInMyTummy can't sleep :( don't know re gaviscon sorry. I'm the same, so happy and grateful but short term knackered and fed up!

butterybollocks · 26/09/2017 06:43

We have sugar free gaviscon so you can definitely get it, just check the labels in case they do a sugar version too.

I get back ache in the evening and just have to go to bed.

AccrualIntentions · 26/09/2017 06:57

@Treasure gaviscon liquid is sugar free, I think the tablets may contain sugar though.

theotherendofthesockportal · 26/09/2017 09:08

I'm feeling bad tempered at the moment, another bad night of sleep and nocturnal peeing. I hope the consultant takes me seriously later. I'm feeling murderous towards people who say the last few weeks fly by and that if I think I'm having difficulty sleeping now wait until baby comes!

I feel like I've been pregnant since the beginning of time, I've forgotten what it feels like to be normal, and I ache all over. Ohhhh it feels good to have a moan lol!

My mission today is to buy the new mattresses for our crib and cot. Any suggestions on where is a good supplier?

butterybollocks · 26/09/2017 09:16

We're getting mattresses from John Lewis - they seem to have a good range and start cheap (I'm planning to get a really cheap one for the Moses basket as it will probably hardly get used).

I'm also very grumpy at the moment, maybe it's partly hormonal at this stage as so many of us are feeling like this?

lydiangel83 · 26/09/2017 10:08

Hormonal, lack of sleep and all the usual concerns re baby's wellbeing, finishing work etc = grumpy

redfragglebiker · 26/09/2017 10:47

Fellow grumpling signing in here too - Woke up at 3.30 and haven't slept since. Have important meeting at 2pm and I know I'll be struggling to keep my eyes open!
sockportal I would second John Lewis - My sister used loads of their basics range for her first and said they're ace. Plus their customer service tends to be good if there's ever any issues.
God I'm sick of aching, tiredness and not comfortably putting my own socks on.

AGnu · 26/09/2017 11:25

I'm feeling extra grumpy today. The DC are ignoring my every instruction & DH put my fennel teabags on the top shelf. I've got a weird tight pain on one side of the bump which means it hurts to reach up. DH was tidying the kitchen last night & I specifically said to him to leave the box where I could reach it. I had to get tongs out to get it down & it still hurt. I'm starting to wonder if I should call the MW about the pain. It's probably just a pulled muscle or something...

theotherendofthesockportal · 26/09/2017 12:19

@AGnu definitely give your midwife a call, it's best to get anything a bit unusual checked out. Fingers crossed it will be nothing to worry about but that what the midwife is there for.
