When to join NCT

I just wanted some opinions on the best time to join NCT. I would like to go to their bumps and babies drop-in session. I have gone on NHS ante-natal classes but didn't do the NCT classes due to the cost. Do you think it's best to go when I start mat leave or wait until baby is here? If I wait until after birth, I'm not sure whether I will be fit enough to go in the first few months. I want to start making mum friends but I don't want to waste money.

You don't have to join to go to the NCT bumps and babies sessions or to their coffee mornings -- if you aren't doing the classes (and frankly, the reason people do them is to make friends, anyway, rather than because they include any information that isn't in the NHS freebies, no need to join at all.

Other than the NCT classes, I think the only benefit that being a member brought me was getting in half an hour early into NCT secondhand sales and a monthly magazine called Gas and Air.
