Anyone else just got their BFP?

Hi all,
So I can hardly believe it but this morning I got my bfp. I'm very early at 14dpo and it's still quite faint so I don't feel ready just yet to go onto one of the due date boards. Just wondering if anyone else is in my position?

I'm totally disinterested in food too and it makes my stomach squirm to even think about eating. For the first time in my life I'm not hoping this will help me lose weight, im just worried about getting the nutrients the baby needs when I can't face food! I can't wait for my scans too, the one on the 10th at about 8 weeks but like you say mostly the proper 12 week scan. Looking forward to knowing everything is okay, hopefully, and to telling people and not feeling I'm limbo any more. Is anyone else stressing about telling their employers?

RedPanda25 · 30/05/2017 16:29

Oh I'm completely exhausted! I remember feeling tired with ds but not this tired! And I think I'm opposite to you two @Iamchanging and @Kittykat89 as I'm constantly starving but if I eat too much I throw up! Cannot wait till 12 weeks! We've been a bit naughty and told my siblings and we'll tell the in laws when we see them and I've told a couple of friends. I figure if anything was to happen and we lost the baby then I would want them to know. I'm self employed @Kittykat89 and have some great clients at the moment so I am stressing a bit about it as i would hate to let them down!

RedPanda25 · 30/05/2017 16:29

Sorry don't know why some of that is in bold!

Iamchanging · 30/05/2017 17:39

To be honest Red I've told a few people as well. One of my friends guessed, and have told my sis and the in laws. The problem is it's taken us a while and most of my close friends know we are ttc so the minute I don't drink with them they will know, regardless of any excuses!
My boss is going to go ballistic when I tell him, he HATES pregnant women! Frankly I don't give a shit!!

OP posts:
RedPanda25 · 30/05/2017 19:56

It's such a pain isn't changing that as soon as a woman doesn't drink then questions are asked! My friends know we were TTC and with the throwing up every day it's so hard to keep it secret. How's everyone feeling? Any scans or booking appointments booked? I can't wait to get my scan date through. I'm seeing the doctor tomorrow about increasing my thyroid medication and just hope he'll agree to increase it as it's worrying me,

Iamchanging · 30/05/2017 20:06

I've had my booking appointment confirmed for the 15th June which I'm really looking forward to - feels like progress. I've also got a scan from the fertility clinic a week on Thursday, so I'm very lucky to be getting one so early. Incredibly nervous about it already though! Have you got your booking in appointment confirmed? I think you are due on the 25th like me from memory?

RedPanda25 · 30/05/2017 21:00

Yep same due date as you and randomly the same date for my booking in appointment as you too! So looking forward to it! Oh that's great that you'll get a scan soon, hopefully that will put your mind at rest a bit? They said they do the scans at 11 weeks here so hoping to not have to wait too long for it!

Kittykat89 · 31/05/2017 11:49

I have my booking in on the 13th and my private early reassurance scan on the 10th. Online calculator says I'm due 21st Jan. I'm hoping to get an 11 week scan too as I'm on holiday for weeks 12 and 13! Don't want to wait till week 14! I've told my parents and in laws and randomly our next door neighbours as they have a baby and I wanted advice on hospital choice. I really want to go to our closest hospital geographically which we are technically out of the catchment area for, because it's such a good birth centre, anyone had any experience of anything similar? I'm worried they will say no. I am looking forward to colleagues being aware so they will understand I'm not just suddenly lazy! I lay awake all night last night thinking about the plan I was putting together for cover whilst I'm away and I got stressed that they would realise they didn't need me at all. Argh. Can't win!

Iamchanging · 31/05/2017 13:32

That's so random Red!! Fingers crossed we both have identical happy and healthy pregnancies!!

Try not to stress about work Kitty, it's just not worth it. They have to take you back regardless if you go back within a certain time period!! My team are going to freak out when I tell them. The chairman (my boss) is a total nightmare and I take all the shit to protect them.
If everything works out with it being my first I'm opting for hospital rather than birthing centre. However my local hospital is absolutely lovely, and they have a lovely room with a pool so hoping that's not in use when I arrive!

So random! I just can't wait for everything to start happening now. Although I think as this is my second I won't be seen as much as with my ds so it'll be interesting to see how it is. I think i could possibly be consultant led this time though but will wait to see what the midwife says at my booking in appointment.

Kittykat please try not to worry too much about work, they can't give your job away whilst your gone and it has to be available or something similar be available for you when you come back from maternity leave.

Iamchanging · 06/06/2017 15:43

How is everyone doing? The nausea has really kicked in for me now!

OP posts:
KatieK79 · 06/06/2017 16:48

Hi lamchanging, no nausea for me yet... I'm hoping I don't get that (too badly) as being on a boat is part of my regular routine 😬 How many weeks are you? (I'm 5+2). My main symptom is my boobs hurt... they're quite big already 32GG... I dread to think of the watermelons that may become!! Is there a chance they might not get much bigger???
I hope the nausea doesn't last too long for you, I guess it makes it more difficult to hide from friends/family x

Iamchanging · 06/06/2017 18:07

Mine are growing too Katie! No idea how much bigger they will get as this is my first. I'm 6+4 today, feel like 7 weeks will be a big mental barrier to get through if that makes sense! I'm not great at keeping secrets so a lot of my friends already know!! Have you told many people?

OP posts:
KatieK79 · 06/06/2017 20:50

Hi Lam, this is my first too. No I haven't told anyone yet (apart from my partner obvs). I've recently moved away so I don't have any nearby family or close friends to tell here. Which kind helps with not telling anyone otherwise I don't think I'd able to keep it secret either!! I'll be going home at about week 8/9, so I know it's a bit early but I'll tell close family then when we can do it face to face. Plus - I'm not sure how many excuses I'll be able make up about why I'm not drinking so they'll probably suss anyway!!!

Kittykat89 · 06/06/2017 21:57

Nausea is getting me real bad :( I'm just shuffling round like a useless tired pathetic idiot. My neighbour tells me this will be gone by week 12. So excited for my early scan on Saturday, yours is this Friday isn't it Iamchanging?

Iamchanging · 07/06/2017 18:28

Yep mine is on Friday, can't wait and utterly petrified at the same time. Just praying for a heartbeat!! I feel much less sick today which is pleasant but also worries me!! Which I'm aware is stupid but can't help myself!!

OP posts:
Kittykat89 · 07/06/2017 22:34

I feel a touch less sick the last couple of days too. It can go away any time up until your 12 weeks though, it's just about getting used to the high hormone levels isn't it. I wouldn't worry. I'm desperate for that little heart beat too! Just been reading about how being A- blood type affects my pregnancy and getting scared about it. So many daunting things! Besides concerns about whether it affects the baby I'm also terrified of needles and looks like I'm going to have to get over that pronto! Back to positives, if all is well on Saturday I can't wait to tell our close friends next week! Eek Grin

Iamchanging · 09/06/2017 09:53

Utterly overjoyed!! Tiny little heartbeat flickering away, measuring 7+2 😄

Anyone else just got their BFP?
OP posts:
Kittykat89 · 09/06/2017 12:13

Awwww Iamchanging congratulations on a perfect scan Grin that's absolutely wonderful news and you've really cheered up my day! I can't wait for mine tomorrow and I really hope to report good things tomorrow too! Xxx

Kittykat89 · 09/06/2017 12:14

PS not really sure what I am actually looking at there, I'm guessing it was all pointed out to you at the time though!

Iamchanging · 09/06/2017 14:15

To be honest I'm not sure either 😂 I assumed that the head is at the top and it's tail is the pointy but at the bottom. Think the circle is the yolk sac. However not sure that's right because on the video I have that means it's heart is beating out of its back!!!! Fingers crossed for yours as well, will be thinking of you!

OP posts:
Iamchanging · 10/06/2017 07:30

Good luck for today Kitty!

OP posts:

Iamchanging · 10/06/2017 15:29
