LOL at the marbles conversation (forgot to mention that in last post) Remamber once a few years ago dd came into ask me something when i was busy (on MN i think ) and i told her to hold her horses. 'I am mummy' she said and i looked round to see her standing there with a toy horse in each hand!!

maveta · 13/03/2007 18:41

I´m very breathless aswell.. even just sitting down I can hear myself puffing away and whenever I am on the phone to people they say ´what ARE you doing, why are you so out of breath´ when all I am doing is wiping the kitchen surfaces or putting away clothes! also dying for this baby to drop so I can breathe again, even if it brings on the waddling

Well kitty came back in and slept for a bit, ate a little and has gone back to bed. Still all normal behaviour but when he was eating you could tell his mouth still hurt. Dh wants us to wait and see how he is in the morning so I´ll go with that. You lot must think oh GOD when you see another cat story from me! what can I say? This is how exciting my life is. In any other period of my life it wouldn´t even merit a mention!!

Eddas · 13/03/2007 18:46

Pesha, LOL at the horses how odd that she was holding some

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 13/03/2007 18:48

Pesha, what a funny story!

muminabigtumi · 13/03/2007 20:07

Hello all

Maveta! Don't speak to me about bloody cats! I am just back from the Vet and £150 lighter in pocket just to get the bugger vaccinated, wormed and flead! GRRRR

Mammyjo - sorry to hear you are feeling so low, and everyone else that is just fed up at the moment - I really really sympathise. I love this thread - as I have too been feeling utterly shit about how grumpy I am with James and how the smallest thing just seems to light my blue touch paper at the moment.

Had a "trying" day with him today - he wet himself three times today - one of which was all over me whilst we were having a nap on the couch...not like him at al and so I am worried he may have a little infection or something as he never has accidents...then again I start worrying that he is getting all anxious about the baby coming and it is affecting his behaviour and setting him back...only time will tell but god he is being a testing little monkey at the moment.

The school visit went well - I really liked it and the headmistress was smashing...James was completely unimpressed and said "I no like school" as soon as we got there!

Right off to have my tea - DH has cooked HURRAY

Hugs to all
xxxx

Emmymummy · 13/03/2007 20:26

MIAM - also love this thread as it's so reassuring to hear others are flying off the handle at their little ones, dhs / dps, and bursting into tears at the slightest thing (or for no reason whatsoever). Not that I want anyone else to be suffering, but it's great to come on here and everyone nods and sympathises.

Well on the scooter subject, by some incredible miracle it was still there this morning, so all tears averted. Dh finished cleaning his car (didn't clean mine though sadly) and then joined me to do some gardening. Amazingly therapeautic gardening, as we did start communicating with each other again, and went out for a late pub lunch. Didn't discuss last night's melt-down, but ended up friends nonetheless. He's gone off to his company's AGM tonight, but I got a kiss before he left so all is calm again. Oh, and the garden is looking fab (love my garden)!

Eddas · 13/03/2007 20:32

MIABT, dd peed on me today whilst haveing a quick snooze on my lap, she never does it either, must be the day for it!! Had to drive home from my friends with wet trousers on, nice!!!

Emmymummy · 13/03/2007 20:36

Eddas & MIABT - I hope us having new babies isn't encouraging the existing LOs to revert to babyhood (i.e. wetting themselves again). I have to say, Em went through a phase of kicking a number of people a month or so ago. We finally realised that as she had heard us talking about the baby kicking mummy, she thought it was OK for her to kick people too!

Katy44 · 13/03/2007 20:42

Hello everyone

well

here we go again

yet another thread wingeing about AN and PN clubs
I don't actually think the OP is unreasonable (only asking for MN to be a bit more customisable) but the post has brought out of the woodwork all the people who get offended easily by thread titles and the term 'babydust'. Not to mention the comments about the hormonal pregnant women.
As we're meant to be so hormonal, how come WE can see most titles / threads and keep our calm and the smug non-pregnants can't seem to manage that.
In fact the only comments that irritate me are the ones by people LOOKING to be offended. Or making sweeping statements they can't back up (OK I'm not doing a great job of not seeming hormonal here).
Just wanted to rant. Sorry to everyone with real problems. Maybe the suffering of people who have to read AN thread titles puts it into perspective for you

Katy44 · 13/03/2007 20:43

Would imagine I'll be gone by tomorrow

Katy44 · 13/03/2007 20:43
Grin
Emmymummy · 13/03/2007 20:45

Hi Katy, funny, was just reading that thread. Don't know why most of them don't just set up their own moaning old tosspots website and be done with it!

Birdiebump · 13/03/2007 20:47

Helloooo to everyone! ML appears to mean I post even less than usual. Have just had a huge catch up.

Ellieump - [[[hugs]]] - we are in a horrible financial mess as well at the moment and alas are still in the head-in-the-sand stage so my heart goes out to you coping on your own. Keep your spirits up and that fabulous sense of humour. Looking forward to your new name.....

Breathlessness - I get breathless just sitting still.....

Whoever said about mummy losing her marbles (SOSPL?) Love that and will try it on DS2 who is also being a bit of a handful at the moment.

Fundal measurement - as usual I am large for dates (I'm 5'8, DH 6 foot and I have large babies) but for a week or so I was measuring small and mw said it's not so much the actual measurement but the rate of growth they keep their eye on.

Saw my mw again today and the little minx has gone back to breech again. So this means that I'm having a scan on Monday before I see the consultant and if she is still breech they will try ECV and if that fails we may be looking at a Caesarian, which really freaks me out as this is my 3rd and I have never come close to having a Caesarian before..... Not tooooo worried though as she still has plenty of time to turn on her own - fingers crossed big time.

Post too long. Better shut up now!

Katy44 · 13/03/2007 20:51

Oh no Birdiebump - back to breech! My baby was all nicely head down and then last night he kept me awake wriggling and squirming for an hour - now I'm convinced he's turned himself the right way up again!
Get cleaning those skirting boards or whatever it is. I'm going to drpae myself over my sports ball and read my book (if that's possible without it flying out and hitting DH!)
Emmymummy - it had occurred to me to jokingly suggest splitting MN into 2 -one for people who want parenting stuff, and one section for all the rest. Not going to suggest it though - apart from the rant on here which someone's bound to spot sooner or later (yoo hoo lurker) I'll try to keep out! It's hard for me though!!

Emmymummy · 13/03/2007 20:54

ha Katy, I saw that Pesha has already said her bit. Go on, they're spoiling for a scrap!

Emmymummy · 13/03/2007 20:57

Birdi, sorry to be think, what's an ECV?

Birdiebump · 13/03/2007 20:57

Katy - wot you mean the only way to turn the little tinker around is to do housework???? Sounds a bit over the top to me....

Katy44 · 13/03/2007 20:57

I know, she managed to be more restrained.
As I said, I don't really mind people not wanting to see the AN and PN clubs, but why does it have to be such a huge issue causing so much emotion (not including, e.g. someone desperately TTC and not wanting to see birth announcements - I can totally understand that). I have no interest in nappy training, and surely some of the thread titles have 'poo' in them - should I complain?

Katy44 · 13/03/2007 20:58

Well someone said that dusting the skirting boards and scrubbing the kitchen floor was the best position to be in. Mind you that someone was probably my DH!

Birdiebump · 13/03/2007 20:59

Sorry Emmy - it's "External Cephalic Version" - where the consultant will try to manually manipulate the baby into a head down position. Sounds a big uuurrgggh and apparently if they like it breech they often just turn themselves right back after a few days or whatever. I would have another scan a few days after the ECV to see if it had "held" and if not... don't want to go there!

Birdiebump · 13/03/2007 21:02

I think that other thread is a pile of c**p tbh. Sounds like censorship of one kind or another to me - just let everyone get on with it and get over it if you see a thread (title) you don't like. No one is forcing you to read it, or to be on MN at all when you think about it.

Birdiebump · 13/03/2007 21:03

Off to watch Life on Mars. See you later!

Emmymummy · 13/03/2007 21:07

I know, it just makes me laugh that people feel strongly enough about thread titles / AN Clubs / whatever that they have to start their own threads about it. I'm sure some of them are just trying to shit-stir and get into an arguement.

Birdie ECV sounds hideous. Was being threatened with LO being manually turned, but luckily last week she was head down. No guarantee she's gonna stay there though! Although have been doing lots of sweeping garden & down on my hands & knees with dustpan & brush so have been in the right position. Better get going on those skirting boards too!

Katy44 · 13/03/2007 21:08

{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=2290&threadid=291804&stamp=070313133920\looks as though this one is staying in good humour}

WestCountryLass · 13/03/2007 21:08

Just ignore the miseries, their lives must be very dull if this is all they've got to worry about.

Bloody hell, MIABT, I jsut had my cat vaxed and wormed and got Frontline spot on for 6 months and it came to £63!!!!!
