Induction at 38 weeks but two failed sweeps already

Had a very rough pregnancy and due to problems i am having an induction on wednesday at 38weeks.
This is my third baby and to give me a chance at natural labour i have had two sweeps so far but both times told my body isnt very favourable. Does this mean that induction might not go too quickly and smoothly?
Has anyone been in a similar situation and can share their stories to reassure me or give me tips on what can help prepare my body.
Thanks everyone

I'm not sure if anything would work by Wednesday but my midwife suggested evening Primrose capsules to soften the cervix and of course raspberry leaf tea and bouncing on a ball to get baby in optimum position. My consultant would love me to start labour naturally from 37 weeks rather than induction at 38 weeks so midwife advised all the above.

Thamks for the reply. Ive been taking raspberry leaf tea tablets since 30 weeks and spend alot of time on my excercise ball, but not heard about the evening primrose will try that. How many weeks are you?

I had a 38 week induction with an unfavourable cervix for dd2 it took two pessaries to ripen the cervix and 24 hours to get to 2cm but she was born 12 hours after that with waters being broken and 6 hours of drip.

So if they can't do a sweep now it might just mean it takes a little while for your body to start but you have been through labour before so your body should respond once it gets started.

Yes definitely be positive, with dd1 I had a sweep at 37 weeks that did nothing, I was really unfavourable, and had an induction at 38 weeks. Had pessary 12pm, waters went 5am, labour by 2pm, baby born naturally with no intervention by 2.45am.
Am hoping to a bit quicker this time!!!
Good luck!

Well had a third sweep before i came in yesterday for induction. Which did nothing. Had 1st lot of gel yesterday at 1pm which did nothing so 2md stronger dose at 8pm which started mild contractions which got regular and quite strong by midnight got checked at 2am was 1cm by this morning was 2cm but cervix was no more dilated so had another dose of gel 2hours ago but no change to the intensity of the contractions so far.

In pain exhausted and want little one out now
