Lovely name jenny and great news on the move ticky!

Still no baby here (was due on 8th). Had show Thursday & yesterday, lots of intense BH, but nothing has developed...never thought I'd say it but I want some contractions!!

Brightsmoke · 13/05/2017 08:04

Sipper, I said to DH yesterday that I've never been jealous of anyone for being in pain before, I desperately want contractions and things to get going, 40+10 and still nothing happening for me :(

EsmesBees · 13/05/2017 08:32

Yep lullaby DD will still be in nursery for three days a week for the foreseeable. So if the new one waits until at least due date I should have a few days to get things ready next week.

Sipperskipper · 13/05/2017 09:12

bright its crazy isn't it? I really didn't think I'd feel like this, but I'm desperate to go in to labour! Come on baby!

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 13/05/2017 09:29

Bright and sipper I'm totally with you on this, any twinge of pain and I'm practically running and leaping round (well as much as you can with a full grown newborn on board) trying to make it continue! Good luck to all of us who are waiting!

High five ticky good day! Those freshly on maternity leave, enjoy it you deserve a break Smile

FoxMulder · 13/05/2017 09:34

I could do with having a baby today Grin. Then DH could have his 2 weeks pat leave before my family come up at half term. This one has officially gone longer than number 1 now!

vanilla8 · 13/05/2017 10:30

Officially on maternity leave, phew! And the last commute home was a nightmare but lovely people on platform literally pushed me on the train at Holborn and no problems with evicting someone from a seat - one time I'm not moaning that people are just constantly staring at bump!

Not going to join the I want baby out bandwagon just yet!

Congrats to everyone who has given birth this week, and fingers crossed for those really overdue!

I'm off to write my shopping list, need to get batch cooking and baking!

RasperryInAMelon · 13/05/2017 10:44

Another interesting start to the morning... woke up at half 2 having regular tightenings every 7-12 minutes that were lasting around a minute.

Got up at half 5 tried to walk it off a bit and it calmed a tad. Managed to go back to sleep for 45 minutes until it started again - however, on the flip side I've had reduced movement again since late last night.

Called the hospital and was sat in triage at 8.30 on CTG which all looks fine. Growth scan booked for Monday just to be on the safe side.

Midwife thinks it could be the start of things, but was reluctant to do an internal just yet.

To top things off, she noticed that I haven't had an assessment made for the Birth Centre yet - EDD 24/05 and next available appointment 01/06 🙈

If anyone needs me... I'm going back to bed with crumpets... 😴

Anyone suffering late onset sciatica and have some relief tips? It started mildly for me a few weeks ago, but was manageable with paracetamol. The last few days however have been excruciating. My bump has dropped as well in the last week so I'm wondering if baby is sat on the nerve? Due date is Tuesday. Paracetamol and a hot water bottle aren't cutting it anymore!

BouncingBlueberry · 13/05/2017 10:59

@RasperryInAMelon your lucky you escaped the internal. When I was in on Tuesday they did swobs which flipping hurt - never had pain with a smear just discomfort and then a separate check on my cervix as I was contracting frequently and they had no idea why. Thankfully when I was supposed to have my first sweep on Thursday I said I'd rather not and my regular midwife agreed. That's now been booked for Tuesday.

Sonnet18 · 13/05/2017 11:06

Ugh, I feel bad for all the overdue mummies. I'm just overdue by one day and I'm fed up. Had terrible pain over night for about two hours and then it faded into nothing...woke up with dd at half 6 and felt like I had a dreadful hangover (oh the irony!) So far, no more pain really and but I'm the same- desperate for real contractions! Had my dd at 40 plus 1 so this one is officially later than my first. Grrr.
Sorry for the whining! Hope everyone is having a nice weekend so far with new babies or with relaxing mat leave days!

newbieho · 13/05/2017 11:25

@Sonnet18 I could agree with everything what you have said. I'm one day overdue and have got some period - like pains overnight that have disappeared. Curry for lunch and more walks then!

MrsJW15 · 13/05/2017 11:51

Also one day overdue and desperate for contractions. I'm bouncing on the ball again.

Hope all our babies get moving soon!

McBaby · 13/05/2017 12:30

Over due by 5 days dd1 born just after midnight at at 6 days late!!

Hoping labour starts today. Been having so many bhs every 10-20 mins since 5am just need them to turn in to real labour!!

Sipperskipper · 13/05/2017 12:49

Its so good to know others are in this position too!

Lots of BH still (although they sont wake me up), and lots of low down pressure - the 'fanny dagger' type sensation but really intense and makes me stop what i'm doing. Have just got back from a 3 mile walk, baby is going crazy in there - shes normally super laud back!

FoxMulder · 13/05/2017 13:02

It's annoying not knowing how far from home to venture. Would you guys go an hour away?

BouncingBlueberry · 13/05/2017 13:16

@FoxMulder I ventured to Chatsworth on Thursday, took my maternity notes with me. It's about a 30 min drive from the house but if anything happened my hospital would be the closest to go to. Going to PIL today which is about a twenty minute drive again with my notes and my hospital is again the closest. Both times I've ventured out my bag has been packed and left by the back door. The hospital is only 10 minutes from our house.

Sipperskipper · 13/05/2017 13:31

fox I would go an hour away. Only as I'm assuming that labour would go on for ages and there'd be no mad rush to get to hospital. Maybe take your notes just incase?

MrsJW15 · 13/05/2017 14:46

@Sipperskipper I'm having those pains too. Not fun! Baby had a very active day yesterday after the sweep but is a bit calmer today.

@FoxMulder I'm not really sure either! I don't think I'd want to be much more than half an hour away from home without bag and notes. But home is still quite far from hospital for me!

EsmesBees · 13/05/2017 14:47

I would too Fox. In fact I did that yesterday by going to work.

Vanilla yay for your last day at work. Hope you get a bit of a break before the big day.

Raspberry that's annoying about the assessment. Can you not use the MLU without it?

Sounds like a number of babies are on their way out. Good luck all.

CoxsOrangePippin · 13/05/2017 15:54

I'm now betting this baby arrives on the 28th, because Chelsea's victory parade will be closing roads en route to the hospital!

FoxMulder · 13/05/2017 16:29

My mum and dad are holidaying about an hour away and I would like to check out their place but I don't fancy the drive...or going into labour an hour from home with a toddler. Mostly the drive. Kills my back. I'd be closer to the hospital but I'm having a homebirth!

Badgerbird · 13/05/2017 16:39

Laid up poorly today Sad Following on from the strange dizzy, BH day yesterday and loads of crazy movements from baby I am proper snotfest today, exhausted and funny tummy. Boring!! Gotta be better by tomorrow as we have a night booked away at the seaside. Nothing like leaving things to last minute Shock

I think I might be the only one on here that doesn't feel quite ready for baby Confused

Oh blimey raspberry that's a lot going on!! Hope you are resting today and glad ctg went well.

Can I ask the Mamas what are your babies sleeping in? Short/long sleeved sleepsuits? Cellular blanket over them tucked into mattress?

vanilla glad you were looked after on your last commute :) Enjoy your mat leave CakeBrew

Brightsmoke · 13/05/2017 16:47

Fingers crossed for everyone who seems to be getting positive signs!

Had a bit of a freak out earlier about what baby will sleep in, so am interested in the responses you get Badger. I'm thinking sleeping bag instead of blankets, and I also have some nightdresses for baby, anyone have a reason that wouldn't work? me and DH are both useless.

About to go around the garden on the lawn mower which DH annoyingly turned into a really shit go kart for some reason 🙄🙄 to see if it is bumpy enough to get baby moving. It is literally my last resort other than just waiting for my induction on Tuesday

savagehk · 13/05/2017 16:54

Sleeping for us will just be a top / vest under a sleeping bag. Assuming this one also runs 'warm' like its brother, anyway, if it doesn't perhaps vest and 'babygro' inside the sleeping bag.
