TT next time you see a gap ad for this year's "boyfriend trousers" on the tube....

They are pretty much just loose fitting hipsters straight down instead of flared

tokentotty · 23/03/2007 16:01

Will have a look at the Gap site online and educate myself as don't get the tube really. They sound perfect though.

lizziemun · 23/03/2007 16:10

Thanks,

Looks, like i am going to have to ask dh to take a day off so he can take me to milton keynes as i won't go at the weekend.

He going to be so happy . I bet he ask's my mum or my sister to take as he can't stand shopping with me .

Funny kiteflying spicy food doesn't make me feel ill.

Augustbride · 23/03/2007 16:51

Had our 20wk scan this afternoon and discovered we are havng a boy!

DH is very excited and already trying to track down a Jenson Button baby gro (big F1 fan)

Only complication is that I have a low placenta so have to be scanned at 36wk to see if it has corrected itself or not. If not then it is c-section for me. Anyone any experience of low placenta?

Hope you are all well

Catherine

tokentotty · 23/03/2007 17:03

Wonderful news Augustbride, am really chuffed for you and your DH !!!! Sorry to hear about the placenta but hey, 16 weeks is a long time away and so much is bound to change and move during that time. If in doubt though, reflexology and acupuncture are supposed to be fantastic at helping with things like that I think.

kiteflying · 23/03/2007 17:06

Congrats Augustbride. It must have been so exciting for you both. Hope you can get the placenta to move.

Hersetta · 23/03/2007 17:08

Congrats on the great news August. Really can't wait for my scan to come around.

I know placenta's can shift a bit so all is not lost on the v-birth front. My only experience is my sil who was diagnosed with a low placenta at the 20 week scan and at the 32 week scan it had slipped even lower so was completely covereing her cerfix, so no chance of a natural labour. She had a c-section 7 weeks ago and her and baby Jensen are doing well.

kiteflying · 23/03/2007 17:12

For lizziemun - a lady on ebay is selling a size fourteen pair of Noppies over the bump jeans. I have these in a size 10 and they are the best fit and don't slide down like some of the elasticised underbump jeans do. Maybe you should have a look if it is your size?

kiteflying · 23/03/2007 17:14

This is what the seller says and I would agree

This auction is for a lovely pair of maternity jeans from designer Noppies. I loved the design of these jeans - they have side darts, a side zip, and an adjustable elasticated waist at the back and are much more stylish than those baggy jersey insert ones. You don't need to cover them up at the top as they are very flattering on. I also found them more comfortable than below-bump jeans - which always felt like they were falling down!

I'm not to sure of Noppies sizes but I found they fit well throughout my pregnancy and I am a size 14. They have some stretch to them to allow for general expansion as well as tummy!

saturn · 23/03/2007 21:19

Mrsshuvel - I've been told I'm Rhesus Negative too. Apparently my mum is, but so is my dad so she didn't have to have the injections. Unfortunately for me DH is Rhesus Positive so I will have to have them!

kiteflying - I am still suffering from morning sickness every morning and I will be 18 weeks on Sunday. Can't believe it's lasted this long.

TT - such a shame about the dress

Hope everyone has a nice weekend, going to make a start clearing out the spare room to make into the nursery this weekend!!

Uki · 25/03/2007 12:48

Hello ladies and bumps. Hope we are all enjoying the weekend.

Kiteflying- bump envy,IKWYM butI'm sure you won't have it when your tummy is sticking out the bottom of everything and everyone starts making comments about the size and sex of your bump, so annoying.

TT- Ebay can be so hit and miss can't it, I got a maternity dress from Thailand, which i thought i'd probably just kissed my money goodbye to, it was only about 7 pounds but it is beautiful, I think the lady makes and sells them herself, the fabric probably is a little on the cheap side, a bit thin, but perfect for hot weather and is well made, and beautiful colours. On the other hand sizes are weird, i bought some jeans and they are st ridicously massive they are maternity too, but not sure I'll get that big that I'll be able to hold them up.

Augustbride- congrat's on the scan, and the little boy . I think we might have 2 on here now.

I have my scan this wed, I'm a bit anxious and scared. Just want to see healthy baby, but proably finding out the sex and not 100% sure i want to, but dh does. Also think it would be annoying to decide you want to know and then you can't see.

lizzie&kiteflying -have you both been tired as well as sick, I've been so tired again, that i sometimes feel really yucky by about 5pm. Thought i was having a 2nd trimester high but it's dropped right off.

MrsShuvel and saturn, sorry to hear about the rhesus Neg, I don't know much about it, but I'm sure it's a complication you'd rather not have. hugs for the needles.

i

saturn · 25/03/2007 14:46

Really quiet on here this weekend, hope it's because everyone is out enjoying themselves!

Uki - I bought a top from e-bay from the lady in Thailand. It makes me look huge at the moment, but is really nice and will be perfect for summer when I am huge! Good luck for the scan on Wednesday - know what you mean about feeling anxious, I've got another two weeks before mine and already feeling worried hoping everything will be ok. We are not going to find out the sex can you not talk your DH out of it if you don't want to find out?

Sorry to hear you're feeling tired again, must admit haven't yet got that second trimester high yet but not as tired now as I was in the first trimester despite still having the morning sickness.

beakysmum · 25/03/2007 20:50

Peanuthead.... you still lurking out there?! How's the morning sickness?

Sorry to hear uou still have m/s Lizzie, Kiteflying and Saturn. So do I, it comes on from the end of the afternoon and I don't know what to eat in the evening. Its not as bad as the first trimester, but the bad taste in my mouth seems to be getting worse!

Ah well, 20 week scan tomorrow, which am looking forward to. We're all nearly half way there!

bananabump · 26/03/2007 01:08

Hi everyone, my name is Anna, I'm 25 and 21+2 days pregnant with my first baby. Unplanned but very welcome!

Already had my anomaly scan, and baby was hiding low down in my pelvis, so I have another one friday 13th april (eek!) to do the rest of the measurements that couldn't be done. We were desperate to know the baby's sex, and the midwife said it looked like a boy, so I've been trying to restrain myself from buying too many little blue clothes until the next scan when hopefully they can confirm the gender one way or another.

Struggling with baby names and very uncomfortable PSD, and omg...itchy nipples! I thought it was just me! Are anybody else's boobs trying to work yet? I'm not very impressed with them, I'm getting more and more weirded out by the sensation that my body is no longer my own, and I'm more of a walking incubator!

Any other ladies due august 4th?

Anna Banana x

stretchmarks · 26/03/2007 08:54

HI Anna,

Welcome, I'm also due August 4th with DS2, DS1 is nearly 4. We are having difficulty agreeing on a boys name, we had a girls name all ready but it was back to the drawing board after our recent scan to start thinking about boys names.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I am feeling very cheery this morning as I have some time off over Easter so looking forward to that and DS1 had a lie in this moring don't think he's adjusted to the clocks yet !!!!

conkertree · 26/03/2007 09:26

hi everyone - good weekends? and welcome to bananabump - having monday morning blues - trying to psyche myself up to look in my mail tray but after the rubbish few days i had at the end of last week, really just not in the mood today.

had a good weekend though, so should maybe just get on with it.

augustbride - there are a few of us on here with low lying placentas at the 20 week scan. think after the initial surprise at there being something unusual, the main advice is that it will almost certainly move, and if not, you will have lots of monitoring from the scan onwards. but if you bleed you have to seek medical asap (which you would probably do anyway even without the low lying placenta).

kiteflying · 26/03/2007 12:13

hi everyone - and welcome to Anna Banana. Congrats on your pregnancy. I hope everyone enjoyed the sunshine yesterday. I gave in to yet another bout of really bad m/s in the afternoon and took to my bed this time - a luxury only available on weekends but a bit of a waste of good weather.

Uki and beakysmum, I have been getting the exhaustion as well as the afternoon dragging sickness - it is like being eight weeks pregnant all over again. I have the second trimester "high" for a good two hours in the morning though so I am not missing out on it entirely. I actually think it is mostly to do with the anxieties/depression of the first trimester having calmed down. It has helped I must say to be in maternity clothes, so at least I don't feel like I am popping out of a business shirt, and the afternoon sickness is not exarcerbated by waistline hell.

I am absolutely wanting my home and bed at five pm again. Hopefully it picks up this week as I cannot hold off my appraisal forever and I want to be able to say my pregnancy sickness absences and downtime are behind me and I am enthusiastic about the next three or four months etc etc

katybird · 26/03/2007 12:30

Hi everyone, welcome bananabump! Hope you all had a good weekend, I had a fairly relaxing one.

Went to Mamas and Papas for the first time and me and DP got quite excited about cots, sad I know! Overwhelmed by pushchair choices though, going to put it off till much later. All I want is a carrycot that is small enough to actually carry around, is that too much to ask?!

Also had my first pregnancy yoga class yesterday, at the Active Birth centre in Archway. Was lovely and relaxing but I'm a bit sore today! It's the most exercise I've done in months. Feel more energised today but don't know if it's the yoga or the energy burst finally kicking in.

Kiteflying - I''m sure you could tell them the sickness was behind you at your appraisal, not your fault if you have a relapse!

kiteflying · 26/03/2007 12:57

katybird - i really want to sign up for those classes so may be seeing you there!

Glad to hear of an energy boost for you!

Mamas and Papas nursery section reduced me to some hormonal welling of tears when we went there earlier on in my pregnancy. The cots etc are lovely - so tempting.

There are some really good threads on here about buying prams with some good advice from non-first timers. Maybe do a search?

GillL · 26/03/2007 13:12

Hi everyone. I was only at work one day next week so I don't think I've got much of a chance of catching up with all the messages. Hope everyone is well.

Welcome Anna Banana. I've just started getting itchy nipples in the last couple of weeks and it's driving me mad!

Didn't have a good mother's day. I got no Mother's Day cards. We had no money but dh didn't even attempt to get dd to make one. We've got plenty of crayons, paints and paper. He's making up for it though. He's taking me out at Easter. I went to a ruby wedding anniversary celebration but I think I got food poisoning because I was up all night being sick and had to take 2 days off work. The food must have been out for a while cos it wasn't very cold.

I took dd swimming on Thursday which she really enjoyed but it hurt my back because they wouldn't let me in the teaching pool - even though the web site said it would be open.

It was dd's 2nd birthday on Saturday and we decided to bite the bullet and get rid of all her dummies. She seems to have accepted that she won't be having them anymore but she is still asking from time to time. I'm sure she'll be fine in a couple of days and stop asking.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

kiteflying · 26/03/2007 13:21

Poor GillL - sounds like a nasty week, until you got to your daugheter's 2nd birthday which must have been lovely! How is your back now?

Mrsshuvel · 26/03/2007 13:49

Hi Everyone, welcome Banana

Hope everyone's good. Feeling quite happy today in the sunshine even though had the rubbish news that our lodger is moving out next month. Have to start all the viewings and interviews now. Which is going to be fun when i tell potentials i'm pregnant!

GillL - Hope your Easter makes up for your Mother's Day.

I love Mamas and Papas. I was in there last week and bought a maternity outfit. I was so upset before going in as couldn't find anything and the shop assistants in London are imbecils (apologies if anyone works on Oxford Street). They were so nice to me in Mamas and Papas that i burst into tears. Bloody hormones! I think they're more than used to it though.

Saturn - Thats three of us in R- club now. I'm not sure what DP is but i'll bet he's positive. Can't say i'm looking forward to those needles but you have to do what you have to do i suppose.

I have my 20 week scan tomorrow. Have the right date this time! Have hardly slept the last few nights though. Having really vivd dreams and keep thinking of all the things that could go wrong. Although i'm really positive about things during the day. It must be my subconcious.

Ooh ooh and my belly buttons starting to turn inside out!

kiteflying · 26/03/2007 14:15

wow Mrs Shuvel - an "outy" already!! I am impressed.

There must be something about that Oxford Street store - tears all around it seems. Although I have to say that when we looked at prams in there the assistant just looked blankly at me when I thought he was joking that 11kg was "lightweight". We thought the lady in the John Lewis dept was much more in tune with what you need to know and seemed like she had encyclopeadic knowledge herself.

The first floor is just heaven though! I still really want the whole co-ordinated M& P nursery ("Meadow" was my fave) but I know I won't in the end.

katybird · 26/03/2007 14:21

Hope this week is better than last week GillL, and your back's better.

Mrsshuvel - I've had a few vivid dreams too, I think it's just a way of the mind working through some of the possibilities. Glad it's not affecting you during the day, good luck with the scan!

Kiteflying - thanks for the prams thread tip, I'll have a read. And the yoga is really good, most of the women in the Sunday class are further along so there'll probably be spaces available soon. I felt like a fraud without a bump!

GillL · 26/03/2007 14:26

My back's much better now Kiteflying. Although I'm finding it hurts quite a lot when I spend a long time standing up (by my standards that's about 15 minutes). It was killing me half way through sorting out the washing the other day. Dd's birthday was nice. The next day we went to another 2nd birthday party and I caught up with my friends from the ante-natal group I joined when pg with dd. I don't get to see them very much these days as I work full time.

Thanks MrsShuvel. We're going to see Dancing on Ice on tour. I love watching ice skating! Hope the interviews go well. I don't think I could live with a lodger but from what I've heard they tend to be out a lot and spend the rest of the time in their bedroom.
