Just thought I'd better kick a new one off...
Another day, another tearful outburst at work! It's getting very embarrassing Is it just me who feels like crying at the drop of a hat? Maybe it's lack of sleep, just not dealing very well with things that would not normally bother me, then something really small sets me off. cried in the toilets for 20 minutes today! Can't even explain why. Is this normal still at this stage?

oooh, spaniel ears! Mine resemble pitta breads. Am having boob job for 40th!!

So H&A you are 5'10 with big boobs? Grrrrr!

hollyandalice · 20/03/2007 19:10

Yeah and a big arse!

foxybrown · 20/03/2007 20:22

lol

hollyandalice · 20/03/2007 21:14

I decided against the juicer. Bought a hand blender thingy for baby food with my voucher instead. How practical of me!! (yawn)

foxybrown · 20/03/2007 21:19

Very wise! And very good forward planning!

hollyandalice · 20/03/2007 21:32

I know, it's so unlike me! They are so useful- 1st timers you will need one! I broke my last one so thought it was a smart purchase!

Sorry if TMI, but my boobs have started leaking! Ewwwww!!!!

foxybrown · 20/03/2007 21:38

NOOooooo!!

Obviously I've just had to give mine a squeeze now

hollyandalice · 20/03/2007 21:45

Lol foxy, interesting mental picture!! Did you get anything out!?
Luckily it's only watery atm, but it's only a matter of time before it turns orange, then it's breast pads at the ready!! YUK!

foxybrown · 20/03/2007 21:49

ummm, yes.

I feel massive today. Yesterday I felt tiny. Baby must've moved. Been on my feet all day. Euurrghh! The varicous Veins in my legs look like bruises! Finding bending over hard, keep forgetting there's this mass infront of me!

Am all polished, preened, scrubbed and moisturised. Feel almost human again!

hollyandalice · 21/03/2007 09:12

I think I've got SPD! I feel like I'm going to split in half along my fanjo (mmm...TMI!!). I clearly walked to far yesterday and now I can't walk properly and my whole pelvis really hurts. It's making me cross, but I suppose it gives me an excuse to sit on my arse for long periods of time!

foxybrown · 21/03/2007 10:08

Feet up then! suspect we'll see a lot of you on here today then.

Am off to playgroup soon. Joy of joys.

hollyandalice · 21/03/2007 10:18

! It's a really nasty pain and it's making me feel a bit sick. I've managed to get an appt with the mw tomorrow so hopefully she'll be able to sort me out! My dp will think it's just an excuse not to do housework!

Hope everyone is well. Have a lovely time at playgroup foxy!

sputnik · 21/03/2007 10:23

Bloody hell H&A, you wafted that snow all the way to Italy! Along with hail and storms. My computer got struck by lightening again, and this time it wasn't just the modem, I think the motherboard is gone as it won't even switch on . Poor thing. Luckily everything is backed up and I have a portable.
I'm posting from MIL's house, it might be a few days before I'm sorted to go online at home.
On the upside, our new windows have arrived and are being installed, our house is finally coming together
H&A, I've been getting pains too from walking a lot, one of those elastic bump belts really helps.

hollyandalice · 21/03/2007 10:30

Wow, my wafting powers are international! I didn't mean to send you storms as well though, sorry ! You poor computer, I'll send it some get better vibes and hopefully they will be as effective as my wafting powers!

I really shouldn't have walked as far as I did yesterday and I was wearing heels! Silly me!

notsolilKel · 21/03/2007 10:43

Holly your little girl is adorable - just saw your profile page. Can you give me tips on how to dress them? I've heard dresses are useless as when they're tiny they bunch up round the neck then when they start moving they get twisted or knees get all banged up. Is this true??

Well I should be at my friends now, enjoying some adult company while the kiddies play happily together, but DS turned out to have some kind of nasty tummy bug. That horrible nappy change yesterday afternoon led to other things and now he's on watery milk and Dioralyte only. One very miserable little boy

At least I've got a copy of Ideal Home to dream through... ahhhh...

Sputnik hope your weather troubles clear up soon!

sputnik · 21/03/2007 10:59

Lilkel, I had that problem with dresses and DD, didn't help that she was quite podgy, to say the least. Some people seem to manage it ok though. Actually I was bothered by trousers riding up too, and she spent a lot of time in footed leggings in the end.
Sorry to hear about your DS, hope he gets better soon.
I'm at MIL's today but suspect it might be snowing at home. DD will be happy, if we can get the car up the hill that is. And to think I was exercising outside in my vest last week

hollyandalice · 21/03/2007 11:10

Thanks lilkel, she looks like a little angel (shame she doesn't act like one!). Dresses are pretty useless, but soooo cute. I only really put her in them when she was tiny for special occasions. The summer she was born was boiling so she spend the first few months mainly in vests. Next do the cutest little romper suits with matching hats, they are perfect for the summer and don't ride up like dresses.

Hope your ds gets better soon! He's a smiley little person, just looked at your profile, so cute!

Seansgirl · 21/03/2007 11:12

Blimey, it has been busy on here!

Hope all that are unwell are feeling better soon

Have spent the past two days being emotional about all sorts of things. Managed to convince myself over the weekend that LO had gone quiet since I had started taking some cough linctus that contains codeine that the dr had prescibed me for this hacking cough I can't shake off. I phoned MW who fitted me in yesterday pm and of course while I was in waiting room LO woke up after huge sleep he/she had and it was like was sychronized swimming or something in there. Heartbeat was fine and I just burst in to tears I'd got so worked up. Today I phoned the estate agent to say that we had decided to take the house off the market and they said oh thats a shame we've got people that want to come and view it on sat. I just fell to pieces as didn't know what to say. It sounds very trivial but I think its the hormones and lack of sleep. This bloody cough seems to be worse and is keeping me awake and now I've coughed so much that I have pulled a muscle under my bump that really hurts. Sorry for miserable rant. Will pick myself up and be cheerful from now on.

On the dresses front for girls Lilkel, I was disappointed to find out that dresses are not the most pratical of things for a while. They do spend alot of time with them bunched up or they get in the way when crawling. Oh, amd you go through loads of tights... and in the summer you worry about sunburn.... Having said that it didin't stop me from buying them - but kept them mainly for going out. From 18 months onwards though..... its a veritable feast of cute outfits! Wish DD could fit in some of the smaller sizes now as she now reached the rannges where they start making stuff too grown up.

notsolilKel · 21/03/2007 11:18

Oh Seansgirl you sound like you're having a v tough day indeed. (((HUGS))). Def try to get some extra rest. And extra chocolate too. We are lucky to be pg at Easter time (hmm this is my second time pg during Easter ) Coincidence, or???

Thanks for the romper suit link!!! I think our first outing after birth will be direct to Next for outrageously huge girly shop!! I can't allow myself to buy too much now as I'm still secretly convinced it's going to be a James instead of a Jasmine...

Seansgirl · 21/03/2007 11:26

Thanks Lilkel, I like the chocolate excuse - as if I ever needed one to stuff more stuff in my gob!

I'm secretly hoping I'm having another girl too (obviously happy with either as long as healthy) - and you're right the next girls stuff in the catalogue looks really cute. Sigh! Could well be buying the same outfits.........

hollyandalice · 21/03/2007 11:34

I wanna buy baby girl's clothes !! I bought this yesterday for my dd, but there were some lovely ickle tiny girlie bits too and I wanted to buy them all! I did get some little baby boy t-shirts though, so I am getting used to the idea of having a boy! I guess boys' clothes get better as they get older, whereas girls' clothes get worse!

hollyandalice · 21/03/2007 11:37

BTW lilkel, however cute mini skirts look on the hanger they don't fit newborn babies as they don't have waists to hold them up! I found this out after I bought some and was very upset!

notsolilKel · 21/03/2007 12:50

oooh bummer about the miniskirts!!I actually got one from Janie & Jack while in the US. Evil evil shop, that...just look at this for example

My other fave from my last trip out there is Babystyle, which is good for salivating over. nursery page here

Seansgirl at least we would know who each other is when we finally do get round to organising a meetup! Just look for the matching DDs!

Little boys are not as much fun to shop for but TBH is isn't so bad either. Seersucker dungarees? Breton stripe tops? Come on, who could resist those??

marylou23 · 21/03/2007 15:21

Okay, I know I've raised this shopping dilemma before, but... Glider chairs. Ugly, horrible things but oh so comfortable. Even DH was impressed with the one in Daisy and Tom - thought it would be perfect for watching footie on...
My question is: has anyone used one and if so, is there a big difference between the expensive ones and cheap ones? Daisy and Tom: £500 for chair and stool (ouch and you-must-be-joking). Ebay Hauka one is £100 for both (more like it). In the middle is Mothercare Dua-something (I want to say Dualit, but that's kettles, isn't it?) and John Lewis, both around the £300 mark. I don't care if I get a chair that isn't built to last for fifteen years, but I do care if it's uncomfortable because that's, like, the whole point.
Or maybe I don't need one at all. But honestly, just sitting on that thing in Daisy and Tom and gliding back and forth... it made a pregnant lady very happy

foxybrown · 21/03/2007 16:10

sorry, but they remind me of the recliner chairs my gran used to have .... I have visions of reclining on a chaise longue, (with a g&t whilst the children do puzzles together in front of me, and the maid cooks dinner ... )
