#TTC1 - Second Wave grads thread the Second!

Hello all! Welcome to the second thread for the 'new wave' of grads from #TTC1 - the first wave ladies seem to have decamped en masse to Facebook now (I heard weaning mentioned last time I ventured onto it) so this is now officially the place to be!

We're pretty spread out over the pregnancy journey so far with some newbies and some about to pop Grin I'll try to maintain a list so if anybody wants to leave details of due dates and whether you're Team Blue, Pink or Vanilla (I think we're pretty heavily skewed towards Pink at the moment) then leave your details and I'll amalgamate them!

As Moose mentioned in our last thread, please do feel free to join in if this is your first time walking this weird and wonderful path - there is no such thing as TMI and we're all learning off each other!

Yay congratulations moose wowser sounds like baby just didn't want to budge you must definitely be cosy!!!

Thanks for all the yoga advice I'm going to try to get on a waiting list then if they are popular. Scan appointment came through for wk 12 wish I didn't have to wait so long!

marmitecheesetoast · 18/06/2017 19:06

Just a very quick post to say congrats to moose!! Gorgeous name, well done you!! Induction does not sound fun, must have been so frustrating. Head not at the right angle and a dash to theatre - oh how familiar!! I ended up with the forceps though! Hope your scar isn't causing too much pain and you've got lots of help. Fantastic that feeding is going well already! Your milk will come in a few days don't worry, their tummies are tiny and colostrum is plenty for them right now, it's powerful stuff! Grin

Thinking of Eva Flowers

Sorry I've not had a chance to catch up and read the rest hope everyone else is doing ok and managing to survive in this heat! Got to go Baby marmite has just come off the boob and done a massive poo! Haha!

Mrsbluebell17 · 18/06/2017 19:27

Congrats moose!! That's amazing news that you're home already, and what a beautiful name! Grin

Musicgrrl · 18/06/2017 19:30

Congratulations moose! What a trooper! Three days of failed inductions sounds miserable! What a beautiful name too Smile Definitely interested to hear more about your whole experience once you have had a chance to settle in properly with baby Edie. Enjoy your newborn cuddles!

Everyone else - I know I'm due a catch up but in the meantime I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and have coped okay with the heat!

FXSkip · 18/06/2017 21:51

Thanks so much for popping on to tell us about your experience moose sorry you went through so much to meet your baby girl, enjoy all the restful cuddles and getting settled in!
Anyone else watching the Handmaids Tale? I'm not coping with it at all 😞

glitteryvibes · 18/06/2017 22:05

Congrats moose glad you've home and getting into the swing of things already.

skip I've seen the first 3, it's such an horrific idea of society. It looks like it based hundreds of years ago but it's actually supposed to be the future. So odd.

Eva30 · 19/06/2017 06:36

Congratulations moose - beautiful news, lovely name Smile

Thank you all, my next scan is Friday when I'll be 9+5 and get a definite answer. Worried, anxious and feel like time is going backwards.

Hope all of you who are further on aren't suffering too much with this heat. Its like an oven in my bedroom I can't imagine how I'd be coping if I was in a third trimester!

Seahawk80 · 19/06/2017 08:15

Hi Everyone, I'm overdue a catch up too!

Congrats moose lovely name! Hope you're recovering ok and doing alright in the heat. I was dreading the baby coming this weekend and having to be in hospital in this weather! Must be so nice to be home.

Eva lovely to hear from you, I've been thinking of you. I've been there and the time really drags. I'm sure you've been given loads of advice but all I can say is try to plan something nice to look forward to each day. I don't want to give you false hope but I had so many problems and bleeds with this pregnancy, right up to 14 weeks, I never thought I'd make it to 38 weeks so you never know. I'll be thinking of you and have everything crossed for you on Friday.

missy def do yoga from 12 weeks. Also I found swimming brilliant, I'm sure doing both is the reason I am still pretty mobile and feel good even now that I am huge! Yoga feels really hard now but I'm still going!

kav glad all was ok! That must have been scary!

My consultant appt went well, they will induce me the day after my due date so I'm hoping things happen before that!

We went out with the in laws for Father's Day yesterday and I don't know if it's hormones but they really got on my nerves. I know that they are excited about the first grandchild but it's not here yet and talking about nothing else makes me feel like a vessel carrying the heir! If MIL says I just can't tell you how excited I am one more time I might hit her! I don't think it helps that they have a really badly trained dog that I can't stand, I love dogs, I really do but for some reason I have never liked this one. When they first got it I told DH it has an evil look in its eyes! It doesn't help that he constantly jumps up at me and claws my bump which is really painful. They also insist on taking him everywhere then spend the whole time being pulled around by him and trying to settle him down!

Sorry for the rant! Hopefully it's just hormones. Hope you're all ok in the heat, I'm lucky that our flat is always nice and cool and we have a garden so I can sit out there in relative privacy wearing not very much (need to remember this in winter when is freezing and we can hear every footstep that the neighbours upstairs take!)

MrsG280516 · 19/06/2017 08:29

Congratulations moose what a lovely name, hope you get nice and settled in at home.

Not long now Seahawk! I can't stand badly trained or untrained dogs either. We worked so hard on training ours so I know how much of a handful they can be but if they're going to insist on having it around they should really spend more time training!

So glad I've got today off work, we are hoping to do some DIY maternity photos today at a botanic garden but it's going to be hot!! Hopefully we can keep jumping into the shade between photos.

Poppet8583 · 19/06/2017 11:52

Congratulations Moose! How lovely. Thinking of you Eva, I hope everything is ok x

Seahawk80 · 19/06/2017 21:49

I've just ordered a paddling pool for the garden! I see it as an early present for the baby!

Mrsbluebell17 · 20/06/2017 04:36

Hope all is ok with you Eva. I keep thinking about you.

Seahawk that sounds like a great idea! A good investment Grin

MissyJones80s · 20/06/2017 08:18

Waaaa having a low morning. Woke up feeling nauseous and then had to go to loo and had a loose poo (sorry tmi) then I noticed my sore boobs had just disappeared (this has happened before). I just can't help worrying about stuff, maybe I'm just having an emotional morning and feeling shit isn't helping.

Seahawk80 · 20/06/2017 08:45

How many weeks are you missy my symptoms went haywire and really came and went from 9-10 weeks. Hope you feel better x

MissyJones80s · 20/06/2017 08:53

I'm 9 weeks today seahawk know I'm being irrational. I'm at a conference so away from home and that's probably not helping either, as in no supportive hug from DH...gosh I sound so needy lol

Starmist · 20/06/2017 10:04

Just a quickie to say huge congratulations Moose! What lovely news. Hope you & baby are well xx

Eva great to hear from you. Keeping everything crossed.

Missy try not to worry although I know it's easier said than done. My symptoms came & went too.

Musicgrrl · 20/06/2017 12:15

I need to start catching up! How are you ladies finding the heat? I'm London based and after yesterday I've arranged to work from home today and tomorrow as it was so unpleasant!

missy don't worry, I spent the entire time up to my 12 week scan worrying about my lack of symptoms and reading into everything. I found that distraction helped and taking each day at a time. I was anxious and had many emotional outbursts at DH!

seahawk it's nearly time! Good work on the paddling pool. Are you planning on doing anything to try and get labour going before your due date? Is it because of your Papp A levels that you'll have a relatively early induction? I meant to say that I did the baby/child Red Cross course the other week with DH and found it really useful. Think I'll need to revise it a bit to keep it fresh but it was reassuring that there wasn't too much to remember.

mrsg how was your DIY photo shoot? I think that's a lovely idea. I am always encouraging DH to take photos of me and bump but I think he has just assumed I have become very vain! Ha.

I got through the hen weekend unscathed! The other bridesmaid and I took the bride down a day early (Thursday night) and went for afternoon tea and to have our nails done on Friday before others arrived. Then I did all the activities on Saturday and left before cocktail making and the night out. It sounds like I made the right decision because some of the hens got quite drunk (well, they all did) and booked a stripper! The bride had said she definitely didn't want one but was drunk enough to get on board. After that it sounded like quite a wild night with lots of them not getting back to the house until 5am and checkout was at 10:30am! The bride had a fab time so I'm happy :)

I will do more catch up later!

MissyJones80s · 20/06/2017 13:19

Thanks guys I think because I woke up feeling shitty (literally) it just set me on a low mood for the day. Feeling a bit perkier now I think. Did anyone else get first thing in the morning bum problems like only once then fine...I'm wondering if this is my version of morning sickness?

mrsg sounds like you made the most of the hen do and very sensible to leave before mayhem haha sounds like it ended the way all good hen dos do!! But you do need drink if strippers are involved lol

eva thinking of you

kavanaughkj · 20/06/2017 16:21

My digestion as far as constipation/loose bowels go has been all over the place since I got pregnant Missy - I also have piles now which I've been trying to treat with witch hazel but it isn't doing much :( I'm of the opinion that this heat doesn't help with anything, either - not sickness, tummy problems, swollen ankles or anything else!

Gaaaaaaah. I'm with you, Music - am now working from home three days a week with a fan permanently pointed at me and mainlining fruit juice ice lollies. I went into work Monday and I think the walk back home was one of the most unpleasant I've ever had to endure - baking hot sun and sweat the whole way back. Am looking out for a car (have my heart set on a purple Ford Fiesta, and yes, I know that makes me very much a girl) so that I'll be able to be a bit more mobile in the weeks ahead at least - but it's been so nice today to be able to go for a snooze in my own bed when I've needed to and sit looking like a slob in t-shirt and yoga pants with my feet up! It also helps I have a lovely view over a lake where I live so providing I've not had to venture out into the sun I've enjoyed being at home. :)

sooooo tired lately. I can't function without an afternoon snooze. Bump is increasingly big and stretch marks have now spread to above my (outie) belly button. I lumber everywhere. Excited to meet the little one though!

I might take a leaf out of your book Seahawk and get a paddling pool - at the moment all I want to do is jump in the lake but it's a tad dirty!

MissyJones80s · 20/06/2017 16:33

Feeling for you guys with large bumps today I've got nothing yet and I'm absolutely zonked!!! Got my feet up now actually taking a break for an hour from conference.

kav thanks for the insight. I have some days when okay, others when I feel I'm trying to eject a rock (ew and ouch) and then the opposite like this morning. Not vommed yet at all, felt like it a couple of times. Blush

Eva30 · 20/06/2017 18:07

I managed to bring my scan forward to today. They confirmed missed miscarriage 💔
Maybe I'll be back here in the future. Wishing you all the very best on your journeys xx

MissyJones80s · 20/06/2017 18:24
