swings for colic?

I just gave birth last week to my girl who cries a lot. I sorta blame myself because I was crying a lot during pregnancy. People were telling me to be cheerful as my emotional state may affect the baby. I use to ignore it but now, I think I've transferred too much stress hormones to her instead of happy hormones. However, I read from this article that colic can go away after four months but I feel like a week is too long already, especially that I am alone and just on maternity leave. I heard that baby swings like one of these can help? She seems to calm down when being swayed but I need to do house chores (and eat!) and she just can't be on my arms round the clock.
