This will be dc2. Edd of July 2nd.

Hello everyone

UKrider I can't quite believe it myself...I felt a bit silly even trying at 43 which is why I think I've been having panics as I just thought it wouldn't happen! When I'm not feeling anxious I'm very pleasedGrin

Seahawk80 · 30/10/2016 20:37

I'm almost 36 so also in the 'older' bracket. Apparently if you're over 35 it's classed as a "geriatric" pregnancy Hmm

MrsBobDylan · 30/10/2016 20:39

Defo Bloop!

MrsBobDylan · 30/10/2016 20:45

That's a very damming classification Seahawk. Some days I can definitely relate to it tho!

thumbsupforthesixbillion · 31/10/2016 07:31

Morning all, just checking in. Welcome to everyone too! How is everyone doing? I'm 5+1 today and still relatively symptom free, although my boobs are still really sore and already feel massive. I've caved and brought some soft crop top bras as my usual are too tight now. I'll be on the look out for maternity bras in the near future but don't want to invest too early when I'm sure I'll grow out of them in no time at all!

Flatwhite How did you get on with your gp appointment?

Bloop Any symptoms to give you a reassuring feeling of things progressing?

Goldfish How are you getting on? Hope the spotting has stopped since Saturday.

Ukrider Congratulations and welcome. Look forward to sharing your new ‘proper’ test later on. I find a frer and a clearblue digital very reassuring.

With regards to telling DH, I told him immediately as the first test was a proper squinter and I needed a 2nd opinion. He had a look and he could see a very faint line. However, I tried not telling him with the 1st bfp back in Sept but I only lasted 24 hours before I showed him my frer.

I was the one that initially commented on summer babies. I didn’t know about the changes in policy where you can delay your summer child starting school by a year. DH said that if our DC is still licking their elbow then we shall know that they aren’t ready for school yet

Littlemiss That is a lovely birthday present. Congratulations and welcome to the thread.

Seahawk (Waves back) – Congratulations and welcome to the thread. I remember you from the conception threads. I have read here somewhere nothing delivers a BFP like starting the ball rolling for fertility treatment or stopping to try altogether!

Littlemisssugarplum88 · 31/10/2016 12:03

Thank you for the update nothereyet. Just to let you know (if you can edit) this is my first baba :) xx

Seahawk80 · 31/10/2016 12:24

Has anyone else had much cramping / spotting? It's only pinky / browny cm and mild cramps every so often so sure it's normal but it's really scary!

Goldfish99 · 31/10/2016 12:29

I too am an older mum (or will be!) though not quite geriatric! If all goes to plan DC1 will arrive just over a month before my 35th birthday!

not I'm still getting the occasional bit of brown blood when I wipe but it's definitely reducing so I'm a lot less worried! I'm expecting DC1 too for when you next update the list

OohNoDooEy · 31/10/2016 12:40

I lost the thread! We have now told family and I told my closest friends this weekend - they would have guessed tbh. Getting some occasional nausea, tiredness and cramping but all very mild so far - really hoping it stays that way. According to babycentre it has gone from a poppy seed to a sesame seed! Grin

Seahawk80 · 31/10/2016 12:51

Just re read that a few people have had it. Think it just scared me as I also have some cramps this morning. But they are mild so I'm going to try to relax. If it is an mc there is nothing I could do at this stage. I thought that getting the bfp was the hard part! xx

Littlemisssugarplum88 · 31/10/2016 13:12

It all sounds normal Seahawk; I'd only worry if it was fresh blood (and a lot of it). The cramping is down to your uterus stretching to make room for baby xx

LuciBee231015 · 31/10/2016 13:16

I'm 5+2 today. I haven't had any spotting but I do get some dull cramps, and they are usually on the left side. My boobs still hurt and have got bigger too. Saturday I woke up feeling like I had a hangover, and that lasted all day. But been ok again since then.

I've been getting really hungry but then after a couple of mouthfuls I don't really want anymore.

Still waiting on a call back from the midwife. I called on weds of last Week and they are supposed to call back within 3-5 days 🙄

LuciBee231015 · 31/10/2016 13:33

My boss has asked me twice today if I 'have something to tell him' 😳 I've been so forgetful and clumsy!

Notyetthere · 31/10/2016 13:55

Luci Oh no! Shock I hate lying but it is way too early to tell them. I ended up telling my boss at 5 wks last time because I suddenly suffered from a severe migraine and took sometime off work. Due to our very stringent drugs and alcohol policy, I also had to declare that I was taking co-codamol. Anyway, the migraine ended in a mc 4 days later and I had to tell him as I needed time off work to recover from the ordeal. But I think if you feel well then hold off telling them.

I don't intend to tell him anytime soon. Unless I fall ill and need to work from home or rest due to sickness. I will see if I can wait to tell them till the new year. I already have a bit of a belly so I believe I will be in the 'is she/isn't she' category for a while. One of my colleagues told us at 20wks and we could not have seen the difference from her usual round belly. It did eventually start to round out at about 24 weeks and then you could tell. I am about the same size as her. But then she didn't have nausea which has already started with me.

Glitterbandit · 31/10/2016 14:02

Hello everyone, room for one more? I have a three year old already and have just had a BFP this morning Smile

LuciBee231015 · 31/10/2016 14:14

Congrats Glitter!! 🎉

foxtrot1301 · 31/10/2016 14:37

Hi ladies. May I join you? I'm 5+1 and just had it confirmed my hcg has doubled again so no more blood tests but a scan on Thursday :)
How is everyone doing?

Also this is my Facebook link if anyone wants to also join our secret Facebook page :) (I'll be using both) xx

Just add me and I'll add you into it. Happy and healthy 9 months to all of us xx

Goldfish99 · 31/10/2016 17:14

seahawk I've had spotting over the last few days from what I've read it's quite common but doesn't make it any less scary when you first see it! I've had light cramps but nothing too concerning - I suffer with really bad AF cramps so if they get anything like I usually experience with AF that'll be when i'll start to worry! It's also quite possible some discomfort can be digestion related as your digestion slows down and I've noticed a bit more wind and bloating than usual!

In other news I've just phoned my local surgery (I moved over 2 years ago and am still registered with my old doctor and it's been on my to-do list for ages!) I explained that I want to register with them and also that I'm 5 weeks pg. I was expecting a bit of a ticking off for not registering sooner but the receptionist was really nice so I'm popping over tomorrow to fill in the forms. I asked if I needed an appointment with a Dr she confirmed I will but they don't usually see patients until 6-8 weeks and then they'll refer me to a midwife so I don't feel too bad now!

BrioLover · 31/10/2016 18:29

Hi everyone! Back at work today after the half term break (I took it as holiday to hang out with DS1 - he's been having a hard time recently and we're just starting the process for assessing for ASD/ADHD).

Really felt the commute, could barely stay awake at my desk! Really bloated too - this isn't unusual with me... I'm quite small (5'4", size 10) so am a bit concerned I'll show quite soon as it's my second. Also nausea coming and going. Oooft.

Seahawk and Goldfish I had spotting with DC1. It was always a dark brown colour and looked like old blood so the midwife wasn't concerned.

BrioLover · 31/10/2016 18:30

And Goldfish thank you for reminding me that I actually need to call the GP!

Seahawk80 · 31/10/2016 19:43

Thanks Goldfish - that's really reassuring. If it gets any worse overnight I'll go to my local epu tomorrow. They do a walk in clinic and are really lovely, I went there for a pcos scan. My cramps are nothing like AF cramps and there's no red or fresh blood. It's just a worry that everything says bleeding & cramps = miscarriage. Mind you DH just pointed out that last time I googled my symptoms I was worried that a dry patch on my lip was lip cancer!

Kitsandkids · 31/10/2016 19:50

Thanks for adding me to the list even though I'm a trespasser from the June board!

This is my first biological child though I have 2 long term foster children. But they came to me past all the baby and toddler years so I have no experience of those!

rhodes2015 · 31/10/2016 20:56

Hi everyone, May I join!
I had bfp on Wednesday 26/10 (first pregnancy) I'd be July but not sure when.... I came of pill in August had "normal" period in September (was a 34 day cycle though) no af in oct (was due 19th) but then didn't get a bfp till I was on cycle day 42, so 8 days late with a clear blue digital test that said 1-2wks pregnant. It tallys with when we last DTD but not when I think I actually ovulated! Anyway sorry for rambling!

Iv got mild cramps tonight so sitting here scared stiff, darent tell DH as he's totally over the moon. I know they can be normal and I've had no spotting/bleeding!
I rang the docs today and they booked me in for 23 November.

I hate the feeling anxious all the time! I keep waking up in the night! Confused

LuciBee231015 · 31/10/2016 21:06

Congrats Rhodes! 🎉

The midwife phoned this evening and just took all my details down. She said she'll send me a bloods form and I need to go and get blood test done between 8-10 weeks. She said I'll also get a letter for an appointment with her to go through my notes etc, then will get an appointment for our first scan for between 11-13 weeks.

Feel a bit better now someone is aware of me if that even makes sense 🙈
