I know what you mean luci, I felt better just booking the appointment today!
Receptionist said booking in appointment takes 45 mins - an hour. Shock Appointment is at 10:50 so gonna have to come up with a good excuse to bugger off for over an hour to my manager Grin

kimmy878 · 31/10/2016 21:58

Hello new bfps!

I have an appointment with the dr tomorrow - I have an out of action fallopian tube which puts me at a higher risk of an ectopic, so the up side is I should get an early scan. Am pleased cos I had another massive panic this morning, this time about twins. I'm honestly getting on my own nerves ATM.

When will you guys let people know about your pregnancy? I am royally shit at keeping secrets but would like to keep it to ourselves for a while yet.

Seahawk80 · 31/10/2016 22:27

Hi Rhodes welcome!

I'm the same with the cramps. I think I it's quite normal though unless there is a decent amount of fresh / red blood. I'm sure you'll be fine. It is scary though.

I've still been cycling to work as I felt fine but after today I'm going to take it easier. I have to come up in a big lift as part of my cycle and tonight it was out of order. Was really worried about carrying my bike up 80 steps but a nice man carried it up for me.

kimmy878 · 31/10/2016 22:29

I haven't told anyone yet but oh has already told his mum I think I will wait till after 12 weeks or till I start showing. With my last I was showing from 12 weeks.
p.s can I be added to the fb group please x

MrsBobDylan · 31/10/2016 22:46

We're staying with pil when I'll be 6 weeks for the weekend and I'm not sure I'll be able to hide it. If I tell them then, I'd feel bad not having told my Mum. Then I'll feel I should tell siblings...ideally I'd like to wait until after 12 week scan but I think maybe I'm being unrealistic.

jellylegs7 · 01/11/2016 11:06

Hi

Congratulations to you all!

I'm so glad I found this post as I'm feeling a bit isolated with not being able to tell anyone other than my husband who is being extremely nervous and cautious!

I don't really understand the acronyms so please bear with me.

My due date according the the various apps I have been playing with is 2nd July. This will be my first.

My boobs are absolutely killing me and I am getting pain in the top of my back with my bra on. Heading to Bravissimo tomorrow to find a solution. Otherwise no other symptoms although I am finding myself overly emotional (teary) at the slightest thing! And actually, constantly hungry.

Booked my midwife appointment yesterday, where I live they want to see you at 7-8 weeks. So I am going in week 7.

I am massively congested at the moment and am not taking anything for it, having read that various remedies are not good in early pregnancy. Staying wrapped up and indoors though as much as I can to avoid hitting anything else whilst my immune system is at a low.

Sorry this is all a bit long !

Notyetthere - what are the early scans you can do? Id be really ken to get something if it an help reassure us that things are ok. Plus it would be fab to have some certainty before Xmas so we can give our parents a pretty cool xmas present.

Notyetthere · 01/11/2016 11:13

Morning All,

I am virtually symptomless today which is a worry. Apart from slightly sensitive nipples (and only when I touch them). I have previously has symptoms in the afternoon so maybe all to come at some point.

OohNoDooEy · 01/11/2016 11:19

Porto - here is the HMRC stuff on MA www.gov.uk/maternity-allowance/overview

What's your query?

I'm the same not - generally no symptoms apart from occasional nausea and tiredness but I know from DC1 to wait for it - by 8 weeks I was feeling pretty awful.

OohNoDooEy · 01/11/2016 11:20

Jelly we have the same EDD. We should get our dating/NT scan the week before Christmas if I can count correctly.

gingernut0106 · 01/11/2016 12:53

That's reassuring, no idea when I'll tell them - not even told OH yet!!

Portolady85 · 01/11/2016 12:55

Hello everyone,
Only just joined so pls bear with me😉.very confused about maternity allowance. After contacting twice ma helpline and given two different opinions had to ask for another.
So I worked for a company for 22 weeks and after I became self employed so my question is can I put in my chosen 13 weeks of highest pay from working as employee and as I haven't got 26 weeks can I say im also now self employed would I still be entitled???
Please any help would be appreciated, really feel like going round in circles now...
Thanks in advance.

Portolady85 · 01/11/2016 12:57

So my query is I have 22 weeks as working for someone else but I need 26 and I'm now self employed.so can I send 13 payslips from when I was employed and use employment and self employment to make those 26 weeks?

Portolady85 · 01/11/2016 13:00

I meant 4 payslips to cover the 13 weeks where I earned the most. Hmm

Notyetthere · 01/11/2016 13:09

Goldfish Glad the brown has reduced. With regards to GP registration, I have not registered with a local dentist yet. I have lived in this area for 3.5 years; I ought to register soon.

Seahawk I had the brown spotting but I knew that it is not unusual to have spotting from implantation so you should not worry too much.

Glitter, foxtrot1301, Rhodes, kimmy and ginger Congratulations and welcome to the thread.

Brio YY to bloating and mild constipation here (usually very regular). And it just the beginning! I could not keep my eyes open at my desk yesterday either at about 2pm. I actually ended up leaving the office at 3.30pm to conduct a site visit on my way home to hide the fact that I could not keep my eyes open. I hope I fare better today as I will very soon run out of sites to inspect.

MrsBob Lol @ twins dreams! I would love to have twins but it is still a scary thought nonetheless. Hope your dr appointment goes well today. Are twins a higher risk if you have an out of action fallopian? I am also rubbish at keeping secrets. I have already told 3 ladies at work as they were very supportive during my mc back in September. They understand my nervousness about it this time round. My mum also knows but then she is like my best friend. The rest of my family and friends will be told after 12 week scan. My boss I hope tell even later if I don’t end up with severe sickness that I need to take time off –and the small fact that my best friend is his girlfriend. I tell her everything but this makes it very awkward indeed.--

Jelly Congratulations and welcome to the thread. Going by your EDD, you might be able to get your 12 scan week scan in time for xmas. Speak to your midwife and see if they can book you in right before. I was planning on getting a private scan at 8 weeks as then you can actually start to see features, heartbeat, limbs, etc. I also thought that 8 wks was the right amount time to give us some reassurance till the 1st nhs scan at 12 wks. However, my gp has booked me in for a scan on Monday for dating purposes since I didn’t have AF between mc and this bfp. Going by my FF chart, I will be exactly 6wks on Monday, they might be able to see something and even a heartbeat then.

Bloopbleep · 01/11/2016 13:19

Ok so odd question, does anyone have a fat foof? Well not quite but my moms pubis is really squishy and plump. I really hope this is a pregnancy related thing and not just a fat foof that I've never noticed before. I mean it's really squishy and sticky out. Nowhere else is bloated yet.

Bloopbleep · 01/11/2016 13:19

*mons

MrsBobDylan · 01/11/2016 14:07

Bloop I shouldn't laugh but your fat foof question has really got me on the giggle! I believe I get a fat foof later on in pregnancy as the bump seems to push everything down. It's also possible it's fat usually, but I just don't notice!

Notyetthere I have heard that the chance of twins increases with age as our bodies release more than one egg to up our chances of getting pregnant. I have been open to the idea in previous pregnancies but I worry it will be too much for me nowShock. However, it is just one in a long line of things I panic about daily...

Exciting that you've got a scan Monday!! I have one a week Friday but I think it'll be too early to see anything. I got my bfp 6 days before my due date and my cycles are only 27 days so technically I haven't even missed my period yet.

Gingernut you can join me in panic corner if want?

Bloopbleep · 01/11/2016 14:24

notthere my symptoms come and go quite drastically. I'm hoping it's just my body adjusting. It's terrifying isn't it?
