Rum that's some impressive deception! Hats off. Only a sober person would mange that :)

Crombanna well done on doing nights, that can't be easy.

I'm so jealous of you exercisers. Before DS1 I was a three-times a week gym goer. These days I do zilch! I'm hoping after Christmas work will ease off a bit and I can get back into a routine. I swam a few times a week until I was 38 weeks with DS. It was amazing to feel weightless when I felt like a whale

Lallypopstick · 23/11/2016 17:10

Rum I like your style and may adopt it at the upcoming festitivities with work.

Damson - great news on your scan, and also selfishly I'm pleased because that's when my early scan is (7+5 when I have it).

Symptom talk - my boobs are less sore, but I'm feeling more sick. Came home from work to a pan from last night's curry and felt the sick rushing up. Had to text OH and ask him if he'll sort it when he gets it.

Also I've always felt sick as a passenger in a car, but now I even feel sick when I'm driving. I do not care for this, as I drive far to get to work. Might wear my sickness bands tomorrow.

Mouse14 · 23/11/2016 18:13

Feeling really anxious about everything today. Someone at work went on maternity leave... I'm desperately hoping to make it to be the 6th person off but keep Googling everything. Just wish the 12 week scan would hurry up! At the emergency 5.5 week scan it was too early for a heartbeat. Wouldn't it be great if we could have a home scanner??

Is anyone thinking of doing a private scan before?

whyistherumgone · 23/11/2016 19:00

haha popular it was surprisingly easy. It seems as long as you APPEAR to be drinking alcohol people will leave you alone. I had the lime cordial in wth the soda water incase anyone wanted a taste haha as it would disguise lack of gin! I recommend it lally

mouse I know how you feel. Just got back from telling my best friend and when I said I was feeling cautiously happy because so many things can go wrong she proceeded to spend an hour telling me how common MC can be, how many people she knew who had one etc - she's never been pregnant btw but it's made me feel a bit low again when I was
feeling a bit more positive today :(

I'm pretty sure she meant well - ie thought she was backing up
my cautious approach but still, not really what you want to talk about is it!

oh well tomorrow is another day, The Missing is on tonight which will definitely distract me :)

Ctupp · 23/11/2016 19:01

mouse14 my and DH have now decided to have an early scan the day of my midwife appointment which will be 9th of December. I should be 8+3 so should be worth it at that point. We are planning on telling the family at Christmas (too hard to hide around that time of year!) so I wanted to have it to make sure we weren't telling everyone only to find out something bad at the 12 week scan.

whyistherumgone · 23/11/2016 19:09

oh and I've got one booked at ten weeks mouse same reasons as ctupp

Mouse14 · 23/11/2016 20:02

Whyistherumgone- awwww that's awful! Not the reception you'd want. I've had a lot of friends who've sadly miscarried recently too. Lots of probs conceiving too. I guess that's what happens when you leave it until mid 30s to start trying. We MUST stay positive though!!

I'm just so thankful to be at this stage because prior to the BFP I'd been to the docs for some fertility blood tests as we'd been trying for a while. Strangely enough he rang with the results on what must've been my conception date to say that my progesterone level hadn't hit the 'magic 30' so ovulation was unlikely! I proved him wrong then!!

Ctupp- I think I might try and persuade OH to go for an early scan too. Just for peace of mind over Christmas. I think I'm around the same dates as you so 12 week scan wouldn't be until the week between Christmas and New Year. We're skiing then (well I won't be now!!) so would be early Jan.

Whereistherum- isn't The Missing fab?! Enjoy!!

Popularcontrarian · 23/11/2016 20:12

That was nice of your friend rum! (Not) some people can be so tactless! It makes you wonder...as if you weren't aware of mc risks anyway? Sure we all know the stats! You'd know she's never been pregnant or had any kids...you're so oblivious until you've been there

I'm kind of cheating with the early scan, I haven't had a period since my mc in September so I just put that date down as my last period, I'm getting a scan next week and by my ov dates I'll be 7+4

And on the mc thing, sure look at me! I got pregnant again without even having another period. So if it does happen to anyone the chances of it happening again are very high Smile (but we won't entertain it anyway...positivity!)

whyistherumgone · 23/11/2016 20:28

Thanks everyone :)
I know, I think it was just thoughtlessness she was very sweet and excited apart from that but yeah, not what you want to hear!

Yes I love it miami I can't wait to find out what's happened!!

you're right popular positivity all round! I love this thread, it's so encouraging and reassuring. And nice to be able to chat to
people who are going through the same things :)

CatRash · 23/11/2016 20:54

Lally - I feel for you. I get nausea as a passenger sometimes and have noticed the nausea creeping in while I'm driving to work in the mornings the last couple of days. Might make a flask of ginger tea in the morning and sip it on the drive in. Can warm my hands at the same time!!

Let me know if the sickness bands work!

I feel like nothing is happening at the minute...time is just dragging...still got a week to go before doctors appointment, then I'm guessing they'll put me in touch with the midwife, then I'm guessing I'll have an appointment with the midwife then finally get a scan date.

Kind of wish I could hibernate and wake up when my 12 week scan!!!

Notyetthere · 23/11/2016 20:58

Mouse I think most of us are getting a private scan before Xmas so that we could happily tell the family on Xmas day or if sadly is bad news then we can drown our sorrows in copious amounts of champagne and mulled wine on Christmas Day. I booked mine for 19th Dec, however, I have my booking appointment on Monday at 8+1 and I have a feeling midwife might booom the scan right before Christmas. If that happens then I will cancel the private one.

Glitterbandit · 23/11/2016 21:07

You say people leave you alone if you nurse one drink, but I got found out by a friend last week when I did this. Gutted!

DamsonGinIsMyThing · 23/11/2016 21:22

rum I'm sure your friends heart was in the right place but that must have been really hard for you to listen to.
I've decided not to go for a private scan, I've seen a heartbeat and that will do me for now, I've got my booking in appt on the 8th of December and I'll be 12 weeks on the 23rd of December so I'm hoping they can squish me in for a scan before Christmas.

Notyetthere · 23/11/2016 21:36

Rum definitely positivity for everyone on the thread. We normally have long stints of getting on with symptom spotting and generally enjoy being pregnant but then the worry creeps in without you noticing.

Like popular I also had a miscarriage(I promise this is not gloomy) in September and quickly got a bfp immediately after without a period. I was worried at the beginning what with all the cramps that you get with right at the beginning but I have stopped worrying. I feel very positive and hopeful. How about this for encouragement - if you look at the 'Due May 2017' threads, only about 3 or 4 of us dropped out due to mcs, the May thread is a very long list of bfps progressing very well into the 2nd trimester so the statistics look good. C'mon ladies, be positive.

whyistherumgone · 23/11/2016 22:19

Ah Not I'm really happy for you and Popular :) Fingers crossed for you both this time.

Damson yeah I'm sure she meant well too, but it was tough.
However I've come home, got the pjs on, got a hot chocolate and watched The Missing and it was so traumatic I've forgotten all my worries haha!

LetMeHaveABloodyName · 23/11/2016 22:27

Notyet I like the positive thinking. Terrified of m/c - genuinely. I've started having a tiny bit of back pain & convinced it will happen soon. I do have pregnancy related anxiety though and did with DS! I seem to turn into a completely different person as I'm very chilled with DS now & don't worry about him at all! Strange.

Early scan booked for 17th Dec when I'll be around 8 weeks so fingers crossed Chocolate

whycanineverthinkofausername · 23/11/2016 23:15

Letme- don't say that I've had a little back pain for a few days now!
I'm also terrified, I'm so terrified of it in fact that I'm not excited and I've convinced myself it will happen, it's awful isn't it! Every pain and ache is stressing me! Not sleeping and constant nausea is probably not helping the stress of it all.

danigrace · 23/11/2016 23:27

Thanks ladies, I don't actually have a midwife yet. My GP who we saw on the day of my postive test at 10/11dpo (to collect dh's semen analysis results!) told us to call at the end of this week and leave her a message and she would arrange our booking appt at that time, so I might mention it then. Brown bits but no red, was a bit when I wiped pretty much every other time I went to the loo yesterday (been weeing a lot!!), and once again first thing this morning but thankfully nothing since...

Had dinner with my parents and cousin yday and they were chatting about how there was 3 preg ladies at my nieces 1st birthday gathering at the weekend, all my brain was shouting was '4 actually!!'. Not planning on saying anything until at least Christmas

amorita · 23/11/2016 23:46

Is anyone still awake?

LetMeHaveABloodyName · 24/11/2016 06:56

I think back pain is normal whycan but doesn't stop me being paranoid! I'm not sleeping very well either which doesn't help.
amorita are you ok?

DamsonGinIsMyThing · 24/11/2016 07:09

I've got back pains whycan but I think it's cos I'm not sleeping brilliantly, my boobs are so painful and I think I'm sleeping in different positions which is making my back ache.
Hope you're ok amorita

DamsonGinIsMyThing · 24/11/2016 07:11

This might help ease some worries.

whycanineverthinkofausername · 24/11/2016 08:13

I'm exactly the same, I toss and turn all night at the moment! Never thought of that, but I'm an eternal worrier. I thought I was bad before the pregnancy.

whycanineverthinkofausername · 24/11/2016 08:14

Thank you for the link damson Flowers

whyistherumgone · 24/11/2016 09:17

Just to re-join the anxiety train, all of my stomach twinges and pains seem to have gone :-/ Still getting bloating in the evening though. Not sure if that's normal?
My boobs are still sore but don't seem to be getting any worse. I'm really convincing myself all is not well, someone please give me a positivity slap!

I'm not sleeping well either. I seem to either not be able to fall asleep til 3am or fall asleep but then wake up every hour.
